Description

The present invention relates to a tennis, squash or similar sports racket.

The object of the invention is to produce a racket, the striking characteristics of which, due in particular to greater flexibility of the handle of the racket, are considerably improved in comparison with rackets obtained by current techniques making use of so-called materials. composites "having the characteristics described above.

The object of the invention is also to produce a racket whose vibrations resulting from striking the ball are significantly improved and their transmission to the player's arm considerably attenuated.

To achieve these objectives, the invention provides a racket comprising a handle consisting of a handle and two branches which connect the handle to the basket, in which the aforementioned branches have, from the place where they connect to the aforementioned basket , a section whose height decreases from the aforementioned location towards the aforementioned handle to reach a minimum height section at a point which is located at about two thirds of the distance between the free end of the handle the racket from where the branches connect to the racket basket.

Still according to the invention, the aforementioned basket of the racket has a section of constant height.

In a preferred embodiment, the aforementioned minimum height section is located, for a total length of the handle of the racket equivalent to approximately 382 mm, at a distance from the free end of the racket which is between 215 and 255 mm.

Still according to the invention, the constant height of the racket basket is between 25 and 27 mm while the aforementioned minimum height of the branches of the racket is between 16.3 and 17.2 mm and is preferably 16, 8 mm.

Other details and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which will be given below of a tennis, squash or similar sport racket according to the invention. This description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention.

Figure 1 is an elevational view of part of the racket according to the invention, the heart of the racket formed by a part of the basket, the two branches and the part of the handle located at the junction of the two branches.

La figure 2 est une vue de profil des mêmes parties de la raquette selon la figure 1.FIG. 2 is a side view of the same parts of the racket according to FIG. 1.

The racket according to the invention, produced as said in the preamble, by one of the techniques using the use of so-called "composite" materials, is essentially characterized by the decreasing height of the arms 1 of the racket from the point where these are connected to the basket 2 in the direction of the handle 3 of the racket.

In this text the expression "height", applying both to basket 2 and to branches 1 of the racket, designates the thickness of these elements of the racket, seen in profile. The profile of the racket according to the invention is partially reproduced in Figure 2. The racket can, according to this figure, be seen placed vertically on its handle or placed horizontally.

The minimum height section is therefore indicated by the line A-A ′ in FIG. 2 and it occurs in this part of the handle which is constituted by the branches 1.

Figure 2 clearly shows that the height of the branches 1 decreases from a place designated by line BB ′ in the direction of line AA ′ where the height of the branches 1 reaches a minimum value.

The line B-B ′ denotes, in FIG. 2, the place where the branches are fully connected to the basket 2 of the racket.

Beyond the line AA ′, in the direction of the free end of the handle 3, there is also a bulge 4 which has no influence on the resistance or the rigidity of the handle of the racket but which is intended for give birth, by molding or injection, to the part of the racket forming a handle. The handle will have a suitable profile for a good grip of the handle. This profile is not shown in the figures.

In a possible variant, the bulge 4 could be eliminated at least in its profile as shown in FIG. 2.

The measures given below by way of example are given because they constitute a preferred embodiment and ensure the greatest possible flexibility of the handle combined with optimal rigidity of the basket.

La hauteur du panier 2 de la raquette étant constante, celle-ci se situe entre 25 et 27 mm, la hauteur idéale étant de 26 mm.The height of the basket 2 of the racket being constant, it is between 25 and 27 mm, the ideal height being 26 mm.

The branches 3 therefore have, at the place where they separate from the basket 2, an identical height. This height gradually decreases to reach, at the height of line A-A ′, a value between 16.3 and 17.2 mm. The ideal height corresponding on the other hand to the dimensions in the longitudinal direction of the racket given below is 16.8 mm.

The dimensions in the longitudinal direction of the racket are, as for the handle itself, i.e. the handle 3 and the arms 1, 382 mm. The distance which then separates the line A-A ′ from the free end of the handle of the racket is between 215 and 255 mm.

The place where the height of the branches 3 reaches a minimum value is therefore around two-thirds the distance between the free end of the handle 3 and the point where the arms 1 connect to the basket 2.
