Claims (14)

1. An electrical connector of the type including a first insulating case portion provided with a series of parallel channels (7) and intended for receiving in each channel one cylindrical female connector member (3) provided at one end with means of attachment to an electrical conductor, each said channel including an opening for introducing the female connector member and means of retaining the said female connector members (3), and a second insulating case portion provided with a series of parallel channels (60) each of which is intended for receiving one male connector member (6) and each including an opening for introducing the male connector member and members for retaining the said male connector members, the latter being provided at one end with means of attachment to an electrical conductor whilst the other end terminates in a cylindrical rod intended for being inserted into a corresponding cylindrical female member (3), one of the two case portions being prolonged by a skirt (95) intended for receiving the other case portion and locking means (20, 22, 97) being provided for keeping the two case portions assembled, characterized in that the first case portion consists of two case elements (1 and 2), the first element (1) including the channels (7) which at the end remote from the end for introducing the female connector member (3) are provided with a stop (24) for retaining the free end of the said member (3) and at least one projection (33) carried by an elastic foot (29) and intended for cooperating with the edge of a collar pointing towards the means of attachment of the electrical conductor and formed at the free end of the said female connector member (3), the second element (2) being formed by a body intended for receiving the first element and having an end (13) pierced with holes (17) intended for coinciding with the channels (7), locking means (10, 18) being provided for keeping the two elements assembled, the second case portion being formed of two elements (4 and 5), the first element (5) including the channels (60) intended for receiving the rule connector members (6), each of the latter having at an intermediate point in its length a collar (78) one end of which is intended for cooperating with the edge of a hole (62) provided at one end of the respective channel (60) and intended for the rod to pass through, whilst the said channels (60) include projections carried by elastic feet (65) and intended for cooperating with the other ends of the collars (78), this said first element (5) being intended for being inserted in a skirt (86) on the second element (4), means (68, 87) being provided for ensuring locking of the said two elements when assembled.
2. An electrical connector as in Claim 1, characterized in that each channel (7) in the first element (1) of the first insulating case portion includes a projection (23) from one inner wall with a ramp (23a) which slopes towards an opening for introducing the female connector members (3), the said projection terminating in a sharp step (23b).
3. An electrical connector as in Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that each elastic foot (29) in each channel (7) in the first element of the first case portion includes a projection (33) shaped to present towards the opening for introducing the female connector members (3) a sloping ramp (33a) terminating in a sharp step (33b), the latter and the sharp step (23b) on the projection in each channel (7) being situated in one and the same plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the channel (7).

An electrical connector as in Claims 1, 2 and 3, characterized in that each elastic foot (29) in the first element (1) of the first case portion includes on the face of it turned away from that provided with the projection (33) a rib (30) having a height such that when the first element (1) and the second element (2) are assembled the said elastic foot (29) is forced in the direction of the female connector member (3).

An electrical cannector as in Claim 1, characterized in that the first element (1) of the first case portion includes on two opposite sides locking-lugs (10), whilst the second element (2) of the said first portion is provided with holes (18) intended far receiving the said lugs by means of elastic deformation.

An electrical connector as in Claim 1, characterized in that each female connector member (3) is produced from a strip of metal of good electrical conductivity, suitably cut away to exhibit at one end feet (42, 43) far crimping aDd an elongated rectangular portion the free end of which is folded back towards the outside to form the collar (51), the rectangular portion being rolled to form a tube.
7. An electrical connector as in Claim 6, characterized in that the elongated rectangular portion includes openings (53) at right angles to the line of fold of the collar (51).
8. An electrical connector as in Claim 6, characterized in that in the rectangular portion a blade (40) is cut out longitudinally, the free end of which is bent (46) and bears against the inner surface of the collar (51).
9. An electrical connector as in Claim 8, characterized in that the blade (40) is provided with at least one boss
10. An electrical connector as in Claims 8 and 9, characterized in that the rectangular portion (50) includes at least one longitudinal boss.
11. An electrical connector as in Claim 1, characterized in that the first element (5) of the second case portion includes at the free end of each elastic foot (65) on the side next the channel (60) a projection (66) which exhibits towards the opening for introducing the male connector member (6) a sloping ramp (66a) which terminates in a sharp step (66b).
12. An electrical connector as in Claims 1 and 11, characterized in that the skirt (86) of the second element (4) of the second case portion exhibits at least one surface inclined so that upon introducing the first element (5) into the second element the elastic feet (65) tend to be forced in the direction of the male connector members (6).
13. An electrical connector as in Claim 1, characterized in that each male connector member (6) is produced from a metal strip suitably cut away to exhibit at one end feet (73, 74) for crimping and at the other end a rectangular portion (71) with two lateral strips (72) extending between these two portions, the rectangular portion (71) being rolled to form the rod, whilst the lateral strips (72) are folded back towards the outside to form the collar (78).
14. An electrical connector as in Claim 1, characterized in that the first element (5) of the second case portion includes on two opposite sides locking-lugs (68), whilst the second element (4) of the said second case portion is provided with holes (87) intended for receiving the said lugs by means of elastic deformation.
