Abstract
In the case of a frame (1 ') for plastic ball racquets, the strings are to be prevented from rubbing and tearing at the edges of the through holes in the frame. For this purpose, the frame (1 ') consists of a median strip (3) made of e.g. thermoplastic material whose hardness is less than or equal to the hardness of the strings. Hollow profiles (4,5) made of thermosetting, fiber-reinforced plastic are formed on both sides of the median strip. After the frame has been manufactured, the through holes are drilled in the central strip (3) and the frame is provided with the covering.
Description
The invention relates to a frame for ball rackets, in particular tennis or squash rackets with two hollow profiles and a part in between, in which through holes are provided for the strings of the covering.
It is known that bundles of synthetic fibers, together with resins, usually thermosets based on epoxy, are processed into ball racquets. The fibers can be embedded in the plastic as a fabric, scrim or unidirectionally (prepregs), the plastic being in a so-called B state. These prepregs are then processed in presses or autoclaves with the application of heat and pressure to the desired product.
Fig. 1 shows a
The manufacture and assembly of the individual eyelets or eyelet straps 2 is complex. In particular, the use of eyelet tapes requires a large number of different eyelet tapes, which must be adapted to the respective club type, so that a separate tool for producing the same is necessary for each eyelet tape.
From US-PS 4,436,307 a tennis racket is known, the frame of which consists of a one-piece profile with two hollow profiles connected by a central web, the space between the two hollow profiles and the central web being filled by a plastic band which is connected to the opposite plastic band by webs is connected, the openings in the central web push through. The production of such a frame profile is complex and requires the use of inserts. In addition, the web connecting the two hollow profiles must be drilled in order to create a possibility for connecting the two plastic strips used. Finally, the plastic part connecting the two hollow profiles must also be drilled in order to produce holes for pulling in the strings. There are therefore two drilling operations required, which are associated with high manufacturing costs.
The object of the invention is to provide a new eyelet frame which, while eliminating the disadvantages mentioned, offers protection against the tearing of the strings, the frame being able to be provided with the covering immediately or after the through holes have been produced.
This object is achieved in that the part is a central strip made of solid material, which is connected on both sides with a hollow profile made of thermosetting, fiber-reinforced plastic, the central strip optionally made of a thermoplastic, thermoset, elastomer, optionally with fiber reinforcement, rubber , Ceramics, wood, metal, e.g. Non-ferrous metal, light metal or their alloys or a composite of such materials.
In an embodiment of the invention it is provided that the median strip extends from the inside to at least the outside of the frame.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the median strip on the outside of the frame has extensions on both sides which extend to the edge of the hollow profiles and merge seamlessly into them.
An additional embodiment of the invention provides that the median strip on the inside of the frame opposite the hollow profiles has a projection.

In the first exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4,
The frame is manufactured in such a way that the two preformed and not yet hardened hollow profiles with the preformed central strip are inserted into a corresponding shape, whereupon the ends of the sealing protruding from the mold are exposed to heat and pressure Hollow sections with compressed air undergo deformation, connection and hardening. In order to ensure a good connection, the surface of the three components can be grinded, etched or the like at their connection points. to be roughened.
In the second embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the median strip 3 'of the frame 1' on the outside of the frame on both sides has extensions 7, 8 which extend to the edge of the hollow profiles 4 ', 5' and merge seamlessly into them. The side extensions 7, 8 create wear protection, which prevents damage to the racket when it hits the ground.
In both embodiments according to FIGS. 3.4 and 5.6, the median strip 3.3 'on the inside of the frame opposite the hollow profiles 4.5 and 4', 5 'have a
The
