Description

  • The present invention relates to a glove holder, and more particularly, to a glove holder for skiers.
  • US-A-3854640 discloses a ski carrier having a flexible lanyard and pliable housing into which the lanyard is forcibly wrapped for storage and from which it is extensible to form a loop secured around a pair of skis by means of a hook at its terminal end, a feature being the mounting of the housing upon a garment worn over the forearm of the skier and from which the skis are suspended by the lanyard looped and hooked therearound.
  • When the skiers stop skiing for smoking or shopping, many of them take off their gloves and hold them , for example, under their arms. This behavior is to omit the trouble of putting the gloves in pockets of skiing wear every time they take off the gloves. But this causes the gloves to be dropped and lost.
  • The conventional means for preventing loss of the gloves is to connect a pair of gloves by a string or cord and hang them down from the neck, but this is exclusively the step to be taken by infants.
  • The conventional technique of preventing loss of gloves, however, is not good for skiing because the skiing is hindered by the string interconnecting the gloves.
  • Besides the above technique, there has been proposed no technique effective in preventing loss of gloves, to the best of the inventor's knowledge.
  • It is an object of the present invention to solve the problems of the conventional technique, and according to the present invention, a glove holder comprises an elastic band to be fitted on a skier's arm and a hook attached via an elastic cord to the elastic band, and is used by connecting the hook to a skiing glove and fitting the elastic band on the skier's arm.
  • By this, it is possible to prevent the skier from inadvertently losing his glove even if he takes it off, because the glove is connected through the elastic cord to the elastic band fitted on his arm.
  • The summary of the present invention is stated below. In a first embodiment of the present invention, the glove holder comprises a slider mounted to an elastic band to be fitted on the arm, a hook for carrying the glove and an elastic cord interconnecting the slider and the hook, wherein said slider has a ring body for passing the elastic band therethrough and a connector member integral with the ring body, said hook has a hook-shaped body for detachably carrying the glove and a connector member integral with the hook-shaped body, each of said connector members for the slider and the hook being formed with a recession having a hole bored in the bottom, said recession housing a stopper fixed at an end of the elastic cord and said elastic cord being pulled out from the hole so as to connect the elastic cord to the slider and to the hook.
  • In a second embodiment of the present invention, the glove holder comprises an elastic band to be fitted on the arm, a hook for carrying the glove, and an elastic cord interconnecting the elastic band and the hook, wherein said elastic band is formed into a ring by fixing both ends of a strap-shaped elastic tape to a connector ring, said hook has a hook-shaped body for detachably carrying the glove, and said elastic cord is fixed to the connector ring of the elastic band and to the hook.
  • Figs. 1 to 6 show the first embodiment of the present invention;
       Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the whole glove holder;
       Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the glove holder excluding the elastic band;
       Fig. 3A is a front view of the slider;
       Fig. 3B is a side view thereof;
       Fig. 4A is a front view of the stopper;
       Fig. 4B is a side view thereof;
       Fig. 5A is a front view of the hook;
       Fig. 5B is a side view thereof;
       Fig. 6 shows the condition of using the glove holder; and
       Fig. 7 is a perspective view of the whole glove holder according to the second embodiment.
  • With reference to the drawings, the embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail hereinafter.
  • Referring to Figs. 1 to 6, an elastic band 1 is made of a strap-shaped elastic tape sewed into a ring, and is formed to have such a dimension that will not fall off when fitted on the arm of the skier even if he is skiing.
  • The elastic band 1 is provided with a freely movable slider 2. In Figs. 3, the slider 2 includes a flat ring body 3 and a connector member 4. The ring body 3 has a hole 5 somewhat larger than the cross sectional configuration of the elastic band 1 so that the elastic band 1 can loosely pass therethrough. The connector member 4 is formed integral with the ring body 3 and is formed with a recession 6 having a bottom and surrounded by four walls, and the recession 6 has a hole 8 bored in a bottom wall 7. After passing the elastic band 1 in the form of tape through the hole 5 of the ring body 3, the tape is sewn or riveted into a ring.
  • In Figs. 4, there is shown a stopper 10 to be fastened to the elastic cord in the recession 6 formed in the connector member 4. The stopper 10 has a T-letter cross sectional configuration and comprises a base plate 11 and a side plate 12 which is perpendicular to the base plate 11 and has a hole 13 therein. The base plate 11 is of such a dimension that covers the opening of the recession 6 in the connector member 4 and the side plate 11 including the base plate portion is formed to have such a height that corresponds to the depth of the recession 6.
  • Further, the side plate 12 has slant edges so that it somewhat tapers in width toward the foremost end where a cut 14 is formed. Because the stopper 10 is fastened to the elastic cord 15 and fitted in the recession 6 of the connector member 4, although the stopper 10 will be described hereinafter, the cut 14 in the side plate 12 is effective in receiving the fastened portion of the elastic cord 15 and also the slant edges of the side plate 12 are effective in fitting the stopper into the recession 6.
  • In order to connect the slider 2 with the elastic cord 15, firstly the elastic cord 15 is inserted into the hole 8 bored in the bottom wall 7 of the connector member 4 and pulled from the opening of the recession 6. Then, the elastic cord 15 is passed through the hole 13 bored in the side plate 12 of the stopper 10 and fastened thereto, and thereafter the elastic cord 15 is pulled so as to fit the stopper 10 in the recession 6. At this time, the opening of the recession 6 is covered by the base plate 11 of the stopper 10 and the elastic cord 15 is pulled out from the connector member 4, whereby the slider 2 and the elastic cord 15 are connected.
  • To the other end of the elastic cord 15 is attached a hook 17 shown in Figs. 5. The hook 17 is provided at its base with a connector member 4 which is of the same structure with the connector member 4 for the slider 2. Accordingly, the connector member 4 for the hook is also formed with a recession 6, a bottom wall 7 and a hole 8, and the same procedure is taken so as to fix the stopper 10 fastened to the elastic cord 15.
  • The hook 17 comprises a hook-shaped body 18 and an engaging member 19 which is elastically supported inside the body 18.
  • Referring to Fig. 6 showing the condition of using the glove holder as constructed above, the elastic band 1 is fitted on the skier's arm and, when wearing a glove, the hook 17 at the foremost end of the elastic cord 15 is engaged with a mounting ring 31 pre-provided on the glove 30 so as to interconnect the holder and the glove.
  • Even if the skier takes off the glove to perform some action, the glove 30 is being connected to the skier's arm. Further, because the slider 2 of the elastic band 1 fitted on the arm is connected via the elastic cord 15 to the hook 17 carrying the glove 30, the expansible elastic cord 15 will dot disturb the skiing action.
  • Next, the second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 7. An elastic band 100 is made of a strap-shaped elastic tape, of which an end is inserted in a square-shaped connector ring 101, then folded, and thereafter fixed by a rivet 102 at the double, folded portion. Further, the other end is also inserted in the opposite side of the connector ring 101 and similarly folded and fixed by a rivet 102 at the folded portion.
  • An elastic cord 103 is fixed to the other portion of the connector ring 101 by a metal clasp 104, and to the other end of the elastic cord 103, a hook 105 is fixed by a metal clasp 104 of the same structure.
  • The hook 105 comprises a hook-shaped body 106 and an engaging member 107 which is elastically supported inside the body 106.
  • In the second embodiment, when wearing a glove, the elastic band 100 is fitted on the skier's arm and the hook at the foremost end of the elastic cord 103 is engaged with the mounting ring on the glove, in the same manner with the first embodiment.
