Abstract

PCT No. PCT/DE86/00356 Sec. 371 Date Jul. 10, 1987 Sec. 102(e) Date Jul. 10, 1987 PCT Filed Sep. 4, 1986 PCT Pub. No. WO87/01550 PCT Pub. Date Mar. 12, 1987.The invention concerns a microwave device for the preparation of food with a lower part (2) designed for holding an easily handled container (5) in the form of a pot, bowl or pan containing food, surrounding at least one part of the cooking space and independent of the basic device composed of a lower part (2), an upper part (3) fitting as a cover over the lower part (2) in operating position and a connecting column (4), joining the lower (2) and upper part (3), which in operating position rests tightly sealing against the upper part (3) surrounding the cooking space with its upper rim (6) in order to prevent the leaking of microwave emission. For easy handling, multiple uses and space saving storage of such a microwave device it is planned that the lower part (2) and upper part (3) are hinged in such a manner that by a pivoting of the lower part (2) relative to the upper part (3), the upper part (3) rests against the rim of the container (5) in its operating position and releases the container (5) for removal in its open position, whereby particularly the lower part (2) and upper part (3) are hinged in such a manner that the upper part (3) in a resting position-and with removed container-rests against or almost against the support surface for the container (5) on the lower part (2).

Description

Invention relates to a microwave device for the preparation of food, with a lower part, a pot-like, bowl-like or pan-like container for part of the cooking space, which can be placed on the lower part, and with an intermediate piece with the Lower part connected upper part, which encloses the other part of the cooking space and overlaps in a hood-like manner in the operating position of the lower part, the upper edge of the container sealingly resting against the escape of microwave radiation on the upper part in the closed operating position.

From DE-A-2 259 310 a microwave heating device for the catering trade is known, in the lower part of which containers for hanging the food to be heated or cooked are hung. The lower part can be moved under a hood containing the microwave radiator, which is either held down on a building ceiling or pivotably on a building wall.

The microwave oven shown and described in FR-A-2 265 042 has a cooking space sloping towards the front in a basic housing which can be closed on the opening side by a hinged flap in such a way that an approximately cuboid-shaped total cooking space results.

In a microwave device known from DE-A-3 034 962, the container is either pushed into the operating position in guides of an upper part or placed on a plate of a lower part that can be raised and lowered. Both options require considerable handling to bring the container into the operating position. In addition, the container, when it is inserted or set into the base unit, is no longer accessible or hardly accessible from above, which is particularly disadvantageous if the contact area of the lower part for the container itself is formed by a heating plate, so that the food can be heated in the microwave device not only by means of the microwaves, but simultaneously or independently thereof also via the heating plate and the interior of the container should be easily accessible.

The object of the present invention is to design a microwave device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it is compact and therefore easily transportable and space-saving, and is easier to handle and ensures better accessibility of the container in its position on the contact surface of the lower part.

This object is achieved in a microwave device of the type mentioned essentially according to the invention in that the lower part and upper part are connected in an articulated manner in such a way that by pivoting the lower part and upper part in relative positions, the upper part in a closed position - with the container removed - in the area of the contact area for the Container abuts or almost abuts the lower part. In the open position, the container is simply placed on the predetermined area of the footprint of the lower part. If the food contained in the container is to be treated by means of microwaves, the upper part is simply folded down in the closed operating position, as a result of which it bears against the upper edge of the container and thereby the cooking chamber against the emission of microwaves and, moreover, against the free escape of Steam is closed. If the container is to be removed from the basic device, to add another ingredient to the dishes or the dishes are stirred, for example, the upper part only needs to be folded up so that the inside of the container is accessible and the container can also be easily removed from the basic device . The upper part remains in the open position if the contact area of the lower part for the container is formed by a heating plate and is only to be cooked with the heating plate. This means that the microwave oven can be used twice if the container is easily accessible. The microwave device according to the invention can also be accommodated in a space-saving manner when its parts are in the closed position, ie when it is not to be used. Due to the nature of the pivoting of the upper part relative to the lower part, care is taken that the upper part can be brought relative to the lower part not only into a closed operating position in which the upper part rests against the upper edge of the container placed on the lower part, but above it further pivoting can take place until the upper part in the rest closed position, that is to say with the container removed, has been folded towards or almost to the lower part.

In order for the upper part to be able to rest over a large area both on the edge of the container in the operational closed position and on the lower part in the closed position, in a further development of the invention the lower part and the upper part can each be pivoted relative to one another about an axis, and the axes are arranged parallel and so offset from one another. that after swiveling both the upper part and the lower part out of the operational closed position, the upper part in a rest closed position - with the container removed - is in the area of the contact area for the container on the lower part or is almost present. One axis is closer to the contact plane in the area of the upper edge of the container when it is set in the basic device, and the other axis is closer to the plane of the contact surface of the lower part for the container.

The pivoting mechanism is preferably arranged such that the main planes of the lower part and the upper part are parallel or almost parallel to one another in the operational closed position as well as in the closed position and in the open position are perpendicular or almost perpendicular to each other. However, the accessibility of the interior of the container and the fact that the container can be removed from the basic device begins at lower angles. The upper part should preferably be able to make at least an angle of 30 ° relative to the lower part in the open position. For the purpose of good microwave sealing, the parallelism in the closed positions should advantageously apply both when the upper part rests on the upper edge of the container for operating the microwave device, and also for the purpose of saving space when the container is removed from the basic unit and the lower part and upper part are pivoted relative to one another into the closed position, in which the two lie directly against one another.

The intermediate piece preferably has a joint body which connects the lower part to the upper part and which contains the two axes.

It is also of particular advantage if the intermediate piece has a foot elongated rearward as a spacer and if, in a development of this idea, the length of the part of the spacer projecting beyond the lower part in the rest closed position is somewhat larger than the height of the upper part. This can namely be achieved that the microwave oven as close as possible, but can not be pushed closer to a wall than that the upper part no longer up to its z. B. vertical position would be hinged. To reach the closed position, only the lower part needs to be folded up around the other axis, so that the microwave oven can remain in the closed position with parallel and perpendicular main planes of the lower part and upper part, for example in the space behind in the rear area of a kitchen worktop and the front one Work surface not affected. If the microwave oven is to be put into operation again, the lower part and the upper part can be folded back into their operating positions one after the other.

The spacer can also serve, for example, as a stop for the upper part in the open position and possibly also for the lower part in the vertical closed position.

Further objectives, features, advantages and possible uses of the present invention result from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawing. All of the described and / or illustrated features, alone or in any meaningful combination, form the subject matter of the present invention, regardless of how they are summarized in the claims or their relationship.

  • 1 schematically shows a side view of a microwave device having the invention, in which the upper part is in the open position and the container is set,
  • Fig. 2, the microwave device according to FIG. 1, partially cut, the upper part being folded forward to the upper edge of the container in the closed operating position, and
  • Fig. 3 shows schematically in side view the microwave device according to Fig. 1, in which the container is removed and also the lower part in the vertical position is folded up to rest on the upper part (closed position).

The microwave device 1 shown consists of a lower part 2 and an upper part 3, which can be pivoted in their rear region about two axes A and B which are parallel and mutually parallel and offset with respect to one another and which are parallel to one another and offset from one another in relation to the main planes H and I of lower part 2 and upper part 3. If the upper part 3 is in the essentially vertical opening position shown in FIG. 1 (the opening angle can also be smaller, but preferably not less than 30 °), a pot-shaped, bowl-shaped bowl can be placed on the upper contact surface 7 formed by the lower part 2. or pan-like container 5 for the dishes to be prepared. The container 5 can thus be handled independently of the basic assembly formed from the lower part 2, upper part 3 and an intermediate column 4 connecting them. In the open position of the upper part 3 shown in FIG. 1, the container 5 can not only be easily placed on the contact surface 7 and removed again, but its interior is also easily accessible from the front above. After the upper part 3 has been closed in the operating closed position shown in FIG. 2, the lower part 2 and also the container 5 overlap the upper part 3, which, apart from the interior of the container 5, forms the remaining part of the cooking space for the microwave treatment sealingly on the upper edge 6 of the container 5 parallel thereto, that an undesired microwave radiation is prevented. After the food has been prepared, the device can be opened again into the opening position shown in FIG. 1. In this position, the dishes present in the container 5 are accessible, but the container 5 as a whole can also be easily removed, for example to serve the finished dishes. Is, which is not particularly shown in the drawing, the contact surface 7 of the lower part 2 for the container 5 is formed by a heating plate, can with the microwave device 1 in the opening position shown in Fig. 1 easily and unhindered a normal cooking process with the help of the hood-like Upper part 3 matching container 5 or any other container, e.g. B. a conventional saucepan.

If the microwave device 1 should not be used for a more or less long time, 3 to save space, in addition to the upper part 3 according to FIG. 3, the lower part 2 is also folded up into a vertical locking position after the container 5 has been removed from the device. While the pivoting of the upper part 3 relative to the lower part 2 about an axis B takes place in such a way that the hood-like upper part 3 lies largely flat against the upper edge 6 of the container 5 in the closed operating position, the lower part 2 is pivoted upward relative to the axis B. Axis A offset obliquely downwards in such a way that lower part 2 comes into contact with its contact surface 7 or almost comes into contact with vertical upper part 3. Due to the two axes A and B lying in a joint body 8, the bottom part 2 and the top part 3 in the rest closed position according to FIG. 3 no longer have the distance from one another required for accommodating the container 5, but lie directly against one another.

So that the required space remains in front of a wall W on which the microwave oven 1 is located for the folding up of the upper part 3 into the vertical position with the greatest possible use of space, the articulated body 8 has a foot 10 which is extended rearwards as a spacer 9. The spacer 9 protruding beyond the rear end of the lower part 2 has a length which is slightly greater than the height h of the upper part 3. The microwave device 1 is in the rest position according to FIG. 3 at the smallest possible distance and thus space-saving in front of the wall W.

Overall, the invention thus creates an easy-to-use, versatile and compact microwave device.
