Abstract

Un connecteur à épissure étanche à l'eau (10) pour des paires de conducteurs électriques a une résistance à la rupture élevée et est approprié à l'épissure de câbles de capsules de détonation, chacun des câbles électriques (24) étant reçu dans des extrémités opposées d'un des deux corps tubulaires (14) connectés par une attache, au travers de trous (22) formés dans des bouchons extrêmes d'étanchéité (20). Une pièce d'insertion métallique tubulaire (28) est disposée dans chaque corps (14) et possède des réceptacles (34) d'extrémité des conducteurs approximativement coniques et de sens opposé, chacun d'eux étant formé avec des barbes de retenue (36) des conducteurs en fil métallique. Les réceptacles coniques (34) permettent un tel recouvrement que la longueur totale de la pièce d'insertion (28) est utilisée pour serrer un conducteur électrique (24) respectif. Les bouchons d'étanchéité (20) se composent d'un matériau résilient comprimé dans des sections de transition convergentes (18) du corps (14) du connecteur pour comprimer les extrémités des bouchons et fermer ainsi les ouvertures (22) et serrer hermétiquement un conducteur électrique (24) respectif. L'intérieur du connecteur est rempli d'une matière d'étanchéité anti-oxydante (40) qui améliore l'étanchéité à l'eau de l'intérieur du connecteur.
