Claims (13)

  1. A shelf device for a keyboard, more particularly for electronic data processing installations, comprising a keyboard holder and copy holder elements associated with the keyboard holder, said elements being adjustable between an erected operative position and a collapsed inoperative position and being lockable in the operative position, characterised in that the keyboard holder is in the form of a shelf (12, 52, 92) having a surface adapted to receive the keyboard and in that the copy holder elements (16, 56) project upwardly from the shelf surface in their operative position and are recessed in the shelf surface so as to be flush therewith when in their inoperative position.
  2. A shelf device according to claim 1, characterised in that the copy holder elements (16, 56) are pivotable about pivots (20, 60) disposed substantially in the plane of the shelf surface.
  3. A shelf device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that support elements (26, 62) for bracing the erected copy holder elements (16, 56) against the shelf surface are provided on the copy holder elements (16, 56).
  4. A shelf device according to claim 3, characterised in that the support elements (26, 66) are connected to the copy holder elements (16, 56) via pivots (24, 64).
  5. A shelf device according to claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the copy holder elements (16) comprise two parallel retaining struts (18) each connected via a pivot (20) to the shelf (12) and being rigidly interconnected by a transverse strut (22) at their ends remote from the pivots (20), the pivoting axes of the pivots (20) being parallel to the transverse strut (22) and a support strut (26) acting as support element is disposed more particularly on the transverse strut (22) by way of a pivot (24) whose pivoting axis is preferably parallel to the transverse strut (22).
  6.   9. A shelf device according to any one of claims 2 to 8, characterised in that a retaining ledge (30) projecting above the plane of the shelf surface and parallel to the axis of the pivots (20) of the copy holder elements (16) is provided on the shelf (12).

A shelf device according to any one of claims 2 to 8, characterised in that the shelf surface has a zone (70) which is bent down at an angle and which is substantially in line with the abutment plane defined by the erected copy holder elements (56), and in that a horizontal support ledge (72) projecting out of the plane of said surface zone is disposed on a bottom edge of said zone.
  11. A shelf device according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that at least one grip slot (74) is formed in the copy holder elements (56) and/or the support elements (62).
  12. A shelf device according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the shelf is connected to a VDU stand (10, 50, 90) to receive a VDU (51), and in that the shelf (12, 52, 92) is downwardly offset with respect to the VDU stand (10, 50, 90).
  13. A shelf device according to claim 12, characterised in that the shelf is disposed on the VDU stand (90) so as to be displaceable in the viewing direction (94).
