Definitions

  • the invention relates to heaters for gas water heaters in the form of a vertical tubular chamber barred at its upper end by a heat exchanger itself comprising a section of piping intended to be traversed by the water to be heated, a portion of the wall of said chamber consisting of a protective sheet coated internally with a body of refractory material.
  • a heating body is known from document DE-A-2 505 765.
  • these heating bodies fall into two categories, namely humid chambers and dry chambers.
  • the humid chambers are constituted by a sheet metal chimney around which is wound a coil intimately attached to it by brazing, said coil being intended to be traversed by the water to be heated before its admission into the exchanger.
  • They consist of a tube of refractory material, such as a silica-alumina mixture, externally lined with a protective metal wall, said tube being capped by the exchanger.
  • This construction easily lends itself to automated manufacture and dismantling of all of the piping intended to be traversed by the water to be heated.
  • the dry chambers described above have the drawback of giving rise to distributions of superheated water during repeated drawing.
  • the refractory body constituting the internal face of the dry chamber is little cooled between successive draws and the amount of heat accumulated in this body during each operation of the device - and even between its successive operations, due to the The permanent lighting of the pilot light is relatively high to the point that this body often remains red.
  • these devices must raise by about 50 ° C the cold water temperature allowed for a prolonged drawing regime and, at the start of each drawing, this temperature rise must not exceed over 20 ° C this speed value.
  • the hot water drawn in regime must be brought to a temperature of about 70 ° C and this temperature must remain below 90 ° C at the start of each draw.
  • the object of the invention is, above all, to remedy these drawbacks by limiting the maximum initial overheating likely to be observed at the start of repeated drawing to 15 ° C.
  • the heating bodies according to the invention also include, like the dry chambers, a portion of wall made of refractory material doubled externally by a simple protective sheet, that is to say devoid of water pipe, and they are essentially characterized in that the front portion of said wall is a thermally conductive metal panel comprising a capacity traversed by water to be heated just upstream of the exchanger and in that this panel is mounted in an easily removable manner on the rest of the wall, in particular by screwing.
  • the invention includes, apart from these main provisions, certain other provisions which are preferably used at the same time and which will be more explicitly discussed below.
  • Figure 1 of this drawing shows in perspective view a water heater heater body established according to the invention.
  • FIG 2 similarly shows the same heater with its exchanger and its disassembled front panel.
  • Chamber 1 is equipped at its base with burner ramps (not shown) supplied with combustible gases and its role is to guide the flames coming from these ramps and the corresponding hot gases towards the exchanger.
  • the exchanger 2 is constituted, in a manner known per se, by a succession of vertical and parallel fins 3 braced by the parallel rectilinear strands 4 1 of a section of piping 4 intended to be traversed by the water to be heated , said strands forming zigzags with semicircular connections 4 2 which connect their ends two by two.
  • the zigzag portion of the section 4 is itself extended outside the exchanger by two elbows 4 3 , 4 4 oriented downwards, elbows one of which is itself extended by a vertical strand 4 5 then the other ends with a threaded end 5 for connection.
  • Room 1 comprises four flat panels, namely a rear panel 6, two side panels 7 and 8 and a front or front panel 9, the front of the room being the area where the user who controls the water heater is located. that the back corresponds to a support wall in the most general case or it is a wall appliance.
  • Each of the three rear 6 and side 7 and 8 panels 6 is constituted, as for the known dry chambers, by a plate 10 of refractory material, in particular of silica-alumina, externally lined with a metal plate 11.
  • the three plates 11 are preferably formed by folding along a U at right angles to the same sheet of galvanized steel.
  • edges of the three metal sections 11 are themselves folded at a right angle so as to form stiffening flaps for the partial trunk thus formed, the horizontal flaps 12 also serving as guide and / or closure flanges while the edges vertical 13, perforated at 14, serve as a support surface.
  • the front panel 9 is, for its part, constituted by a rectangular or square sheet 1 made of a thermally conductive metal such as copper, on the outer face of which is brazed a section of piping 16 also made of a thermally conductive metal such as the copper.
  • This sheet 15 is pierced near its vertical edges by slots 17 and it is attached by screwing to the vertical flaps 13 above using screws 18 cooperating with the holes 14.
  • the pipe section 16 is a zigzag coil having vertical rectilinear strands and terminated upwards by a flared end piece 19 (FIG. 2) placed in a location such that it can be easily connected so watertight with the nozzle 5 above using any suitable fitting 20 that can be easily removed, preferably of a screw-on type (FIG. 1).
  • the assembly of the exchanger 2 and of the sections of piping which exit therefrom constitutes a drawer which can be moved horizontally above the front panel 9 so as to be easily placed in the upper zone of the chamber 1, from the front of the unit, and to be removed from this area forward.
  • this drawer relative to the chamber 1 is advantageously ensured, at the rear, by resting its rear semi-circular strands 4 z on horizontal tabs 21 punctured in the rear sheet metal 11, and at the front by execution of connection 20.
  • the presence of the pipe section 16 just upstream of the exchanger 2 and in the immediate vicinity of the hot walls of the chamber 1 makes it possible to increase the volume of water immobilized in the hot portion of the device between the successive withdrawals. , and therefore increase the heat capacity of this volume of water and reduce momentary overheating.
  • the front panel 9 with water jacket forms between the combustion chamber and the front or front portion of the covering of the appliance a heat shield more efficient than a heat-accumulating refractory wall, which reduces the temperature. of said facade and therefore reduces on the one hand the burning sensations experienced during contact between this facade and the hands or faces of users, and on the other hand the heating of the volume located in front of the device.
