Abstract

0 A tight receptacle having a gasket between a body and a closure, characterized in which either the body or the closure having a pair of shafts at the opposite sides thereof for pivoting a pair of rotary locking members, the other having a pair of projections at vertically downward positions with respect to the shafts when the closure is put on the body, the locking members having cam grooves consisting of external cams and an internal cams, the external cams comprising lobes for expanding between the shafts and the projections, and the internal cams comprising lobes for narrowing between the shafts and the projections.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to tight receptacles. More particularly, the present invention relates to tight receptacles in which a gasket is provided between a body and a closure so that they are tightened by a pair of locking members.
  • Conventionally, there is known a tight receptacle in which a gasket is provided between a body and a closure and they are tightened by hook means. However, when hot food is put into the receptacle and gets cold thereafter, the pressure in the receptacle falls so that the closure cannot be removed from the body against the negative pressure therein.
  • OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
  • One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a tight receptacle set forth above in which the closure can easily be removed from the body even if it was in negative pressure in the receptacle.
  • Another object of the present invention is provide a tight receptacle set forth above which has a rotary locking member, and the locking member makes the body and the closure tight when it is rotated to a locking direction, and it separates the closure from the body against the negative pressure in the receptacle so as to be readily possible to remove the closure from the body when it is rotated to a unlocking direction.
  • It is furthermore an object of the present invention is to provide a tight receptacle which has a pair of locking members, the locking members are not broken when one of locking members is rotated to the locking direction and the other of the locking member is rotated to the unlocking direction so that the closure is half opened.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • According to the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by a tight receptacle having a gasket between a body and a closure, characterized in which either the body or the closure having a pair of shafts at the opposite sides thereof for pivoting a pair of rotary locking. members, the other having a pair of projections at vertically downward positions with respect to the shafts when the closure is put on the body, the locking members having cam grooves consisting of external cams and an internal cams, the external cams comprising lobes for expanding between the shafts and the projections and recessing portions which are recessed from the surfaces of the lobes not so as to provide the locking member directed to the locking positions from swinging around the projections, when one of the locking member is rotated to the locking direction and the other is rotated the unlocking directed, and the internal cams comprising lobes for narrowing between the shafts and the projections and recess portion not to contact with the projections when the locking members are rotated to the unlocking direction.
  • In a preferable aspect of the present invention, the body and the closure are made of flexible material.
  • According to a specific aspect of the present invention, the lobes of the internal cams has recess for stopping the locking members rotating by a slight force.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the locking members form apertures behind the lobes of the internal cams so that the lobes are flexible.
  • The above and other objects and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments taking reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
    • Figure 1 is a side view of an embodiment of a tight receptacle according to the present invention;
    • Figure 2 is a sectional view of the embodiment along the line II-II in Figure 1;
    • Figure 3 is a sectional view of locking means of the embodiment along the line III-III in Figure 2, and a locking member is rotated. to the locking direction;
    • Figure 4 is a sectional view of the locking means of the embodiment along the line III-III in Figure 2, and locking member is rotated to the unlocking direction; and
    • Figure 5 is a fragmentary sectional view of the embodiment along the line 11-11 in Figure 1, and the closure is half opened.
    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to now to Figures 1 and 2, an embodiment 1 of a tight receptacle comprises a body 2; a closure 4, and a pair of rotary locking members 6 pivoted on the closure 4 at its opposite sides. The body 2 has a pair of projections 8 like a pole perpendicularly projecting from it opposite sides.
  • The closure 4 has a downward groove 10 at a periphery of lower surface thereof and a gasket 12 is inserted into the groove 10. The closure 4 has a pair of shafts 14 on its opposite side, which are located vertically upward with respect to the projections 8, respectively.
  • The shafts 14 is rotatably inserted into an aperture 16 of the locking members 6, respectively, which have cam grooves 20 for engaging with the projections 8. The cam grooves 20 consist of an external cam 34 and an internal cam 40. The external cams 34 consist of uncontact portions 30 being away from the projections 8 by space D when the locking members 6 are rotated to unlocking direction as shown in Figure 3, and lobes 32 for abutting on the projections 8 so as to raise the shafts 14 from the projections 8, when the locking members 6 are rotated to locking direction as shown in Figure 4. The space D is decided so that the projections 8 can be swung in the space D under the condition that the locking members 6 are rotated to the unlocking direction.
  • While, the internal cams 40 consist of lobes 36 for abutting on the projections 8 so as to pull the shafts 8 to the shafts 14 and to make the body 2 and the closure 4 tighten when the locking members 6 are rotated to the locking direction, and uncontact portions 38 not to abut on the projections 8, when the locking members 6 are rotated to the unlocking direction. It is desired that there are formed recesses 42 to slightly stop rotation of the locking members 6, on the lobes 36.
  • In the arrangement mentioned above, when the closure 4 is put on the body 2 and the locking members 6 are rotated to the locking direction, the lobes 36 are abutted to the projections 8 and the projections 14 are pulled to the projections 8, so that the closure 4 is pushed and tightened to the body 2. If the recesses 42 are provided on the lobes 36, at this time the projections 8 fall in the recesses 42 so that the rotations of the locking members 6 are stopped by predetermined slight force.
  • When the locking members 6 are rotated against friction between the projections 8 and the lobes 36 so as to be directed to the unlocking direction as shown in Figure 4, the lobes 32 are abutted to the projections 8 so that the closure 4 having the shafts 14 is raised from the body 2 having the projections 8. At this time, even if it was negative pressure in the tight receptacle 1 according as the food as contained in it gets cold, the closure 4 would be raised from the body 2 by lever function and wedge function of the rotation of the locking members 6, so that the tight container could be opened by comparatively light force.
  • While, under the condition that the receptacle 1 is tighted by rotating the locking members 6 to the locking direction, if only one of the locking members 6 was rotated to the unlocking direction, the other locking members 6 would be held by the projection 8 so that the closure 4 is half opened as shown in Figure 5. However, the projection 8 holding the locking member 6 can swing between the uncontact portion 30 and the lobe 36 without abutting to them, so that the projection 8 is not broken by the half opening of the closure 4.
  • It should be understood that while the invention has been described with respect to a preferred embodiment, variation may be perceived by those skilled in the art while nevertheless not departing from the scope of the present invention as described by the claims appended hereto.
