Abstract

In a showerhead having an adjustment device, arranged on the head housing, for the purpose of producing different water jets, in each case at least one fixed and one rotatable base arranged on the head housing being provided with water outlet openings for the formation of jets, for the purpose of improving the arrangement and mounting the rotatable base it is proposed that a cylindrical outer surface with an annular groove be formed on the head housing and the rotatable base be mounted with a projecting annular part on the outer surface, the annular part being pluggable, with radial catches formed to correspond to the annular groove, onto the outer surface in a bayonet-like manner, by means of correspondingly formed axial slots in the head housing and it being possible to close the axial slots with correspondingly dimensioned fitted pieces in order to obtain restricted rotatability of the base and to secure it in the inserted position. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower head for sanitary shower or shower devices with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.

Shower heads of this type are known (DE-PS 23 32 437, EP 0 066 289 A2). In these known devices, a first shower base with water outlet openings is included firmly connected to the head housing and connected to a second shower base rotatably supported on a central axis. Variously designed water outlet openings are formed in the rotatable shower base, so that different water jets can be emitted depending on its rotational position. For this purpose, the passage openings can be provided with and without a jet splitting device, so that only shower jets containing water or a water-air mixture or air bubbles can be generated.

The invention has for its object to improve the arrangement and mounting of the rotatable shower base.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Further refinements of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 6.

With the measures according to the invention, exact guidance and mounting of the rotatable shower base to the head housing and the fixed shower base is achieved with simple means. The axial forces generated by the emerging water jets can be introduced cheaply into the head housing, the central axis of the shower bases for other devices, e.g. for a shut-off device for part of the water passage openings, can remain free.

Finally, essentially all of the individual parts can be produced inexpensively using the injection molding process.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below.

The shower head shown in the figures is essentially formed by a head housing 1, a first base 2 fixedly arranged on the head housing 1, a further base 3 which is rotatably held and a base 4 which is also connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the head housing 1, with the bases 2 , 3,4 water outlet openings 5 are formed.

The head housing 1 is made of plastic by injection molding and has water upstream guide connection 12 and downstream a pipe socket 10. In the pipe socket 10, the bottom 2 is sealed with the aid of fastening screws 13 and held in a rotationally fixed manner. An axially fixed screw spindle 14 is arranged coaxially in the base 2 and carries a hood 15 upstream of the base 2, with which a part of the water outlet openings 5 in the base 2 can optionally be blocked off.

At the downstream end of the pipe socket 10, a cylindrical outer surface 11 is formed on the outside, in the area of which an annular groove 111 consisting of three symmetrically arranged arc parts is let in, an axial slot 112 being formed in each case on an end region of each arc part in the direction of the escaping water, whose depth corresponds to the depth of the annular groove 111 -. In addition, transverse ribs 113 are formed symmetrically in the arc parts of the annular groove 111 at certain points.

The rotatable base 3, as is shown in particular in FIGS. 4 and 5, has symmetrically radially projecting webs 32, on which an axially projecting ring part 31 is formed. The actual floor 3 is slightly curved and carries a multiplicity of water outlet openings 5, a certain part being designed as smooth through bores, while another part is provided with impact bodies or beam splitting devices. Sieves 313 are provided as jet splitting means, a certain part of the water outlet openings 5 being provided with a sieve and another part of the bores being provided with two sieves arranged one after the other. On the inside of the ring part 31, three radially inwardly projecting lugs 311 are formed symmetrically, the width and depth corresponding to that of the axial slots 112. Parallel to the central axis are also on the inside of the knobs 311 Grooves 312 recessed.

As can be seen from FIGS. 6 and 7, water outlet openings 5 which correspond to the pattern of the water outlet openings 5 in the fixed base 2 are arranged in the slightly curved surface in the third floor. On the outer edge, symmetrically axially projecting fitting pieces 41 are formed, the width and thickness corresponding approximately to the width and depth of the axial slots 112. Parallel to the adapters 41 offset inwards, snap tongues 42 are formed.

The shower head described above can be assembled as follows:
  • First, the threaded spindle 14 is inserted into the base 2 and the hood 15 is screwed on. The bottom 2 can then be provided with a sealing ring on its outer surface and the entire structural unit can be inserted into the pipe socket 10 on the downstream end face and firmly connected to the head housing 1 with the fastening screws 13. According to this, the bottom 2 provided with the sieves 313 can be pushed onto the lateral surface 11 with its knobs 311 via the axial slots 112 and inserted bayonet-like in its plug-in position by rotating its knobs 311 into the arc pieces of the annular groove 111 and is thus axially fixed on the Head housing 1 supported.

Now the bottom 4 with the fitting pieces 41 can be inserted into the axial slots 112, so that the axial slots 112 are filled and the lugs 311 can no longer be returned here by rotation. For axial securing, the snap tongues 42 engage radially in an annular groove formed on the inside of the pipe socket 10 in the plug-in position.

The shower head is then ready for use. By rotating the ring part 31 provided with grip lugs 33 the floor 3 can be brought into different positions in which different shower jets are emitted by the shower head. In a first rotational position, non-aerated shower jets or the water jets generated by the water outlet openings 5 of the floor 2 are released into the open through the openings 3, 4 in the downstream floor. In a second rotary position, the water jets have to penetrate a sieve as a jet splitter and come out into the open as shower jets moderately mixed with air bubbles. In a third rotational position, the water jets generated in the bottom 2 must penetrate two screens arranged one behind the other on the two end faces of the bottom 3 and then pass through the water outlet openings 5 in the bottom 4 as shower jets provided with relatively large amounts of air bubbles into the open. So that these three rotational positions of the base 3 can be easily adjusted by the user and to prevent the base 3 from being inadvertently rotated, the transverse ribs 113 with the grooves 312 lock into the three rotational positions.
