Description

The present invention relates to an introduction to the rectum, i.e. suppository to be administered rectally, a so-called anal suppository, with improved properties with regard to its introduction into the rectum and packaging therefor such that the suppository can be inserted without the aid of the fingers.

Im Handel sind häufig Zäpfchen bis 2,5 g.The form of administration of the suppository is rectally administered in the suppository base mass distributed active ingredients a weitverbre i tetes means, be it for the local treatment of the rectum, either because oral or parenteral administration of the active substance is not possible is not desired or. The suppository base used is, among other things, cocoa butter, vegetable or animal fats, hydrogenated oils, mixtures of fats, wax and walrus, resin-free ozokerite, hard paraffin, glycerin gelatin and glycerine soap gels or polyethylene oxides, all suppository bases that are solid at room temperature and soften or liquefy at body temperature and thus release the active substances contained in them for absorption by the mucous membranes of the rectum (cf. Hagers Handbuch der Pharmaceutical Praxis, Volume Vlla, 4th edition, Springer-Verlag, 1971, p. 664; F. Gstirner, Introduction to Process Engineering in Pharmaceutical Forming, 5th ed. (1973), Wissenschaftl. Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Stuttgart, pp. 149 - 151; Der Apotheker-Praktikant, 8th ed. (1967), Wissenschaftl. Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Stuttgart, Pp. 189-191). These suppositories today have a generally torpedo-like shape, the head being tapered to facilitate rectal insertion, and the suppository at the head being somewhat thicker than at the end of the suppository, ie tapering slightly towards the end. According to DABB-BRD, suppositories for rectal use generally have a weight of approx. 2 g for adults and approx. 1 g for children. Suppositories up to 2.5 g are often on the market.

These previous anal suppositories have the disadvantage that, if they are not inserted far enough rectally and even pushed in with the finger - in an unsanitary manner - due to the slidability of the usual suppository base and the endeavor of the anus sphincter to keep the anus closed, they are often expelled again will. To prevent this, suppositories are also known which have a thickened head and a constriction behind the head (see e.g. GB-A-252 363). An anal pill and a packaging for it, which enables the use of the suppository without soiling the hands, is known from DE-A-3 220 249.

In the previous torpedo-shaped suppositories such. B. with a weight of about 2.4 g with the Ma-Ben of 30.5 mm in length, 9.6 mm in diameter at the end of the suppository and 11.7 mm at the widest point of the head exist with regard to the tearability of the Suppository packaging problems. The suppositories are now generally packaged on machines in strip-shaped packagings, with six suppositories lying side by side and separated from one another and the individual suppository packs being able to be separated by perforations between the suppositories. The packaging is e.g. B. molded from plastic films in thermoforming machines, each of two superimposed, partially welded foils so that the shape of the suppository corresponding, at the lower end open cups are formed, the cups thus formed are filled with the suppository mass and finally also sealed at the lower end. Unsealed tabs are left at the head end. The user removes a suppository from the bandage by means of perforations, opens the packaging by unfolding the tabs on the head and removes the suppository, which generally falls out of the packaging when the shape is torn apart and - as is undesirable for hygienic reasons - by hand is administered.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an anal suppository with a thickened head and associated packaging, with which the suppository can be inserted more easily and safely into the anus without the aid of the fingers and without touching it, i.e. which allows the suppository to be safely administered despite the slippery suppository mass, without having to touch the suppository.

The suppository according to the invention with packaging is characterized in that the suppository is provided with notches in the conical end of the suppository from the running part near the end, and that the packaging has indentations which engage in the notches in the suppository. As a result, the suppository does not need to be removed from the packaging for insertion, but the packaging is unfolded, the suppository still being held in the packaging by the indentations and corresponding indentations when the packaging is opened, and the suppository at the height while touching the packaging of the tapered end can be inserted into the anus.

With the suppository shape according to the invention, the suppository can be reduced by a total of approx. 10% by reducing the previous suppository base by up to 20%, thus lengthening the parts of the packaging strip that are not connected to one another and serve to grip the opening of the packaging, thereby lengthening the suppository Grip resistance for consumers can be increased using the same packaging materials and machines. Surprisingly, in order to safely insert the suppository into the anus, despite the shortening by approx. 10%, touching the suppository with the finger is not necessary, because the sphincter of the anus grips the suppository securely without the risk of closing the anus serving Sphincter pushes the suppository back out. Avoiding the need for finger pounding contributes to the hygiene of such suppositories. The previous suppository casting machines can also continue to be used, with only the molding tools of the molding and casting machines that are normally used being changed.

The possibility of a wider configuration of the parts of the packaging strip which serve to grip when opening the packaging enables a further measure to simplify the opening of the packaging for the consumer. With the previous length of suppository and the necessary narrow lacing of the grip tabs, these had to be of the same length. The consumer frequently overlooked the handle tabs and had corresponding difficulties in using the suppository. The design of the suppository according to the invention allows a shortening by approximately 10% of the previously required suppository length, so that the handle tabs can be widened in the associated packaging. With a colored print, the consumer will quickly recognize this relief, even if he has poor eyesight due to age or other reasons, and will easily separate the two tabs, which are located one above the other.

The accompanying drawing serves to further explain the present invention.
  • Fig. 1 shows the embodiment of the suppository according to the invention and the packaging therefor. The spherical head tapers slightly conically towards the tip of the suppository, ie the head of the suppository is formed onion-shaped.

While the surroundings 3 are suitably sealed around the suppository compartments, the front ends 4 of the strips lie loosely on top of one another in the form of tabs. When using a suppository, a packaging compartment is torn off along the perforation 6, starting at the notch 5, and the two packaging foils welded to one another can be separated using the loosely arranged tabs 4 and the packaging of the individual suppository opened. The packaging flaps in the packaging for the usual torpedo-shaped suppositories are relatively narrow due to the shape and length of the torpedo-shaped suppositories and do not give sufficient grip when the packaging is torn open. However, the suppository according to the invention with the spherical or onion-shaped head is shorter with the smaller suppository mass, so that the tabs 4 which remain after the suppository compartments have been sealed are longer. The length is such that the tabs can be of different lengths, so that one tab is surmounted by the other tab with its part 4a, which is conspicuous, e.g. B. by suitable coloring, can be designed so that people with poor eyesight easier to separate the tabs from each other and so can open the sealed suppository compartments more easily. In the embodiment according to the invention, notches are provided on the conical tapered shaft 8 near the rear end and corresponding indentations 7 are provided in the packaging, so that the taper can be held with the rear part after tearing open the individual packaging for the individual suppository and bending apart the front parts , without the risk of the suppository falling out, and thus the suppository can be inserted into the anus in a hygienic manner without touching it.
