Abstract

1. Catalytic exhaust purification device for internal combustion engines with a support matrix (5) for the catalyst, which is arranged in a housing (1) made of sheet metal and at the face ends of which an inflow funnel (2) and an outflow funnel (3) of sheet metal adjoin, characterized in that inflow funnel (2) and outflow funnel (3) are connected over the entire periphery of the housing (1) to the latter by lock-seaming, in that the support matrix (5) is surrounded over its entire length by a tubular metal shell (6), in that the tubular shell (6) protrudes at both ends beyond the support matrix (5) and in that the protruding ends of the tubular shell (6) are clamped in the lock-seam connection between the housing (1) and the inflow funnel (2) and the outflow funnel (3), respectively.
