Claims (11)

1. A picture frame (1) having a stay (3) pivotally connected to the back (2) of the picture frame and pivotable from a retracted inoperative position into an extended position of use, at least one hook (8, 9) being provided at the pivotally connected end of the support, the back (2) of the picture frame (1) being formed with at least one slot (4, 5) extending through said back (2) and constructed as a holder cooperating with the hook (8, 9) to form a hinge, supports (6, 17, 16) being provided at the opposite long sides (17, 16) of said slot for abutment thereagainst of the hooks at least in the position of use, characterised in that the hook (8, 9) extends through the slot (4, 5) and bears against the opposite long sides (16, 17) of the slot (4, 5) as supports (17,16), the hook (8, 9) being so constructed that the operative width of the hook (8, 9) between the supports (17, 16), as measured in the direction of the clear distance between the opposite long sides of the slot (4, 5) constructed as supports (17, 16) is smaller during the inoperative position and position of use than during an intermediate position.

9. A picture frame according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the stay (3) of the picture frame (1) is provided with two hooks (8, 9).
10. A picture frame according to claim 9, characterised in that the back (2) of the picture frame (1) is provided with two slots (4, 5).
11. A picture frame according to at least one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the picture frame is injection moulded from plastics.
