Abstract

1. Safety lock cylinder comprising tumblers actuated by a key, the tumblers (3, 3', 3", 3"') each comprising a part in the form of a cylindrical pinion (2) co-operating with a rack part (9, 10, 11, 12) cut into the key (6), characterised in that each tumbler (3, 3', 3", 3"') comprises a screwthread (1) which co-operates with an internal screwthread on the cylinder core (15).

Description

The invention relates to a security lock cylinder with tumblers actuated by a key.

Conventional locking cylinders with pin tumblers have the disadvantage in the field of security technology that the tumblers (pins) can be moved with the aid of special tools and there is therefore the possibility of raping the locking cylinder by reproducing the combination or by shaking the tumblers.

The object of the invention is to make it considerably more difficult to move the tumblers without a key without deviating from a locking cylinder of simple, economical and very robust construction.

For this purpose, the locking cylinder according to the invention is characterized in that the tumblers each have a part in the form of a cylindrical pinion, which interacts with a part of the incision on the key. The complete insertion of the key gives each tumbler a certain angle position which, provided that the key used corresponds to the locking code, unlocks this locking cylinder.

In a preferred embodiment, each tumbler comprises a thread which engages with an internal thread of the cylinder core. During the rotation, each tumbler is thus also shifted, so that the unlocking takes place when all tumblers have moved into the interior of the cylinder core.

The invention will be readily understood upon reading the following description with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:

• Fig. 1 is a schematic view in perspective of a tumbler of the locking cylinder according to an embodiment of the invention;

• Fig. 3 is a schematic view of the lock cylinder in cross section.

The locking cylinder includes tumblers 3, 3 ', 3' ', 3' '', of which part 1 is provided with a thread and part 2 has the shape of a pinion. Leaf springs 4 and 5 ensure the angular indexing of the tumblers. A key 6 inserted into the key channel 6 'of the cylinder core 5 comprises toothed areas 9, 10, 11, 12, which form the same number of toothed racks for interaction with a tumbler 3 or 3' or 3 '' or 3 '' ' . The distance 7 between the racks 9 and 10 and the distance 8 between the racks 11 and 12 are such that each rack only acts on the adjacent tumbler.

The depth of insertion of the key into the key channel 6 'determines for each rack a number of teeth which interact with the corresponding tumbler, as a result of which a single angular position is specified for each tumbler after the key has been inserted.

The threaded part 1 of each tumbler interacts with a thread of its seat in the cylinder core 15 so that the rotation thereby communicated is translated into a shift of the tumbler.

In the angular position of the cylinder core 15 with respect to the cylinder housing 13, which enables locking (FIG. 3), the seats of the tumblers 3, 3 ', 3' ', 3' '' are in the cylinder core 15 through blind holes 14 in the cylinder housing 13 extended, in which at least certain tumblers sit in the locked position. The shifting of the tumblers 3, 3 ', 3 ", 3"' ', which is brought about by the insertion of the key 6 into the key channel 6', brings all the tumblers back into the cylinder core 15, which is unlocked in this way. The coding the lock is obtained by the initial position of the tumblers during assembly.

It can be seen that the locking cylinder just described is particularly simple, robust and economical because the number of parts used is greatly reduced. In particular, the tumblers 3, 3 ', 3 ", 3"' 'can all be of the same drawing or of the same shape.

Security lock cylinder with tumblers actuated by a key, characterized in that the tumblers (3, 3 ', 3 ", 3' '') each comprise a part in the form of a cylindrical pinion (2) which is connected to the key ( 6) cut toothed rack part (9, 10, 11, 12) cooperates. 2. Lock cylinder according to claim 1, characterized in that each tumbler (3, 3 ', 3' ', 3' '') comprises a thread (1) which cooperates with an internal thread of the cylinder core (15). 3. Lock cylinder according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the tumblers (3, 3 ', 3 ", 3' '') are advanced by springs. 4. Lock cylinder according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the tumblers (3, 3 ', 3 ", 3' '') are identical in drawing.
