Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing means and an arrangement of the means for generating a sequence of charged, detected and deflected ink drops for an inkjet printer.
- an electromagnetic device provided with appropriate means is required. With the device assigned to a spray body, individual drops are charged, detected and deflected in correspondingly generated electrical fields, as a result of which a text field is created on a correspondingly assigned writing point.
- the relatively closely arranged electronic means due to the relatively aggressive and chemical reactions leading to ink reactions, can smear and clog and thereby cause an electrical short circuit. Such defects often make the inkjet printer inoperable or completely unusable.
- the known devices have a relatively complex, constructive structure and are not suitable, or only with great technical outlay, for the arrangement of a plurality of closely adjacent spray bodies, as are required, for example, for inkjet printers in order to achieve seamless graphic representations.
- Object of the present invention is on the one hand the production of improved means for functionally reliable He witness charged, detected and deflected ink drops and on the other hand the arrangement of the means for achieving seamless graphics in an inkjet printer.
- the particular advantage of the present invention with regard to the method is that, using the circuit board manufacturing technology known per se, the means for producing the charged, detected and deflected ink drops can be produced economically and with optimum electrical properties.
- Another advantage is that due to the plate-like means - compared to the previously known and block-like means - a much narrower and smaller design is achieved.
- a major advantage is also seen in the fact that, in a sandwich construction of the two carrier elements comprising the ink drop deflecting means, several spray bodies can be arranged at a short distance from one another, and thus seamless, graphic representations can be achieved without further technical outlay.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an arrangement, designated as a whole by 50, with means for charging, detecting and deflecting ink drops in an inkjet printer.
- the arrangement 50 comprises a first structural unit 25 with the means for charging and detection and a second structural unit 45 with the means for deflecting the ink drops.
- a schematically represented spray body 60 can be seen in FIG. 1, from which a number of ink drops, shown in simplified form by a line 65, is fed to the arrangement 50.
- the ink drops fly through the first structural unit 25, which is essentially composed of two carrier elements 5 and 10, which are spaced apart by a spacer 15, and the second assembly 25, which is essentially composed of two carrier elements 30 and 40, which are spaced apart by a spacer 35 Unit 45.
- FIG. 2 shows in a sectional view, without the two spacer parts 15 and 35, a part of the arrangement 50 and one can see the carrier element 5 of the first structural unit 25 and the carrier element 40 of the second structural unit 45, which in FIG -IV in Fig. 2 is posed.
- the second structural unit 45 is shown in a front view according to arrow direction A in FIG.
- first structural unit 25 The details of the first structural unit 25 and the details of the second structural unit 45 are described in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 5 to 8.
- the first carrier element 5 shown in view, which is formed from a polyimide substrate provided with a metal lamination.
- the means for charging and detecting the ink drops are formed on one surface side 5 'in the desired shape, 8 being a charging electrode and 7 being a detection electrode.
- the detection electrode 7 is preferably surrounded by a shield 6 formed from the lamination and is thereby insulated on one side from the charging electrode 8 and on the other side from a deflection electrode 41 (FIG. 2) of the second structural unit 45.
- the elements 6, 7 and 8 are connected to correspondingly designed and mutually arranged conductor tracks 6 ', 7' and 8 'with an electrical connection point 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- FIG. 7 shows the other surface side of the first carrier element 5, which is also provided with a metal lamination and is not designated in more detail, in which an ab is removed by removing lamination that is not required distortion 9 is provided.
- the outer shape of the shield 9 comprises the means 6 to 8 provided on the other side (FIG. 5).
- the shield 9 is also fed to the electrical connections 2, 5 and 4 by means of two conductor tracks 9 ′ and 9 ′′ formed from the lamination .
- the second carrier element 10 is shown, which is also formed from a metal-clad polyimide substrate.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing means and an arrangement of the means for generating a sequence of charged, detected and deflected ink drops for an inkjet printer.
When developing inkjet printers with high drop frequency and high drop speed, an electromagnetic device provided with appropriate means is required. With the device assigned to a spray body, individual drops are charged, detected and deflected in correspondingly generated electrical fields, as a result of which a text field is created on a correspondingly assigned writing point.
In the known devices and arrangements, the relatively closely arranged electronic means, due to the relatively aggressive and chemical reactions leading to ink reactions, can smear and clog and thereby cause an electrical short circuit. Such defects often make the inkjet printer inoperable or completely unusable. Furthermore, the known devices have a relatively complex, constructive structure and are not suitable, or only with great technical outlay, for the arrangement of a plurality of closely adjacent spray bodies, as are required, for example, for inkjet printers in order to achieve seamless graphic representations.
Object of the present invention is on the one hand the production of improved means for functionally reliable He witness charged, detected and deflected ink drops and on the other hand the arrangement of the means for achieving seamless graphics in an inkjet printer.
- the means provided for charging, detection and deflection are formed in the desired shape and isolated from one another by removing unnecessary, electrically conductive lamination of metal-clad elements,
- - The first means are designed as charging electrodes, the second means as detection electrodes and the third means as deflection electrodes, and
- - A film or insulating layer which is resistant to organic or inorganic media is applied at least to the side of the individual agents which is affected by the ink drop medium.
- a first structural unit with two plate-like first carrier elements which are arranged at a distance from one another by a spacer and are provided with the charging and detection electrodes, and
- - A second structural unit with two plate-like second carrier elements arranged at a distance from one another by a spacer and provided with the deflection electrodes.
The particular advantage of the present invention with regard to the method is that, using the circuit board manufacturing technology known per se, the means for producing the charged, detected and deflected ink drops can be produced economically and with optimum electrical properties. Another advantage is that due to the plate-like means - compared to the previously known and block-like means - a much narrower and smaller design is achieved. A major advantage is also seen in the fact that, in a sandwich construction of the two carrier elements comprising the ink drop deflecting means, several spray bodies can be arranged at a short distance from one another, and thus seamless, graphic representations can be achieved without further technical outlay.
Further features of the invention will become apparent from the following description in conjunction with the drawing and the claims.
The invention will now be described using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing.
