Abstract

The invention relates to a switch arrangement (coordinate switch) with which four switches are actuated by moving an actuator in two mutually perpendicular directions and a fifth switch by displacing in a direction perpendicular thereto.

Description

The invention relates to a switch arrangement with an actuating member, the lateral displacement of which at least one of a plurality of switches can be actuated and which acts on a further switch when pressed against the force of a spring via a switching plunger.

Such switch arrangements can be used, for example, to control the drive motors for a table top in an X-ray examination apparatus, the direction of actuation and the direction in which the table top is displaced by actuating the switch arrangement expediently coinciding. By actuating the further switch, a further function that is independent of the table top displacement can then be switched.

In a known switch device of the type mentioned, four microswitches are arranged around the plunger, in such a way that their sides provided with a switching element face the cylindrical plunger which presses against one of the switching elements when the actuating member is laterally displaced. The overall volume of such a switch arrangement can be reduced by arranging the microswitches as close as possible to the switching plunger. Then, however, a small displacement of the actuating member is sufficient to trigger a switching operation. Such short switching distances are disadvantageous for the user; in an X-ray examination device, for example, in which the user in generally wearing lead rubber gloves and acting with the thumb on the actuator, the user loses the feeling of whether the switch is actuated or not with such short switching distances. Another disadvantage is that the forces that the user exerts on the actuator must be fully absorbed by the switches.

The object of the present invention is to design a switch arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that, despite the small construction volume, there are sufficiently long switching paths. This object is achieved in that the sides provided with a switching element of the switches which can be actuated by lateral displacement lie in one plane, in that the switching elements are arranged around a switching plate which is displaceable in the plane, and in that the switching plate is arranged displaceably on the switching plunger.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the switching plunger is formed in two parts, one of the plunger parts interacting with the switching plate being rigidly connected to the actuating member and the other plunger part acting on the further switch being displaceable perpendicular to the plane, and that two pusher parts offset in the axial direction are pressed against one another by a tension spring with the surfaces facing one another.

In the invention, therefore, the switching elements are actuated in that the switch plate runs over them. The forces exerted by the user on the actuator are not transmitted to the individual switches. To actuate the further switch, the actuating member is displaced perpendicular to the plane, the first plunger partially acts on the second, which is guided in this direction and actuates the switching element of the further switch. - If, on the other hand, the actuating member is laterally displaced, the first tappet part tilts relative to the second, the latter not moving, but the indexing plate is displaced until it actuates at least one switching element. The actuator is reset using the tension spring under tension. With a suitable design of this tension spring, the tension exerted by it is only slightly increased when the actuating member is laterally displaced, so that the (restoring) force counteracting the actuating force of the user remains essentially constant during the displacement. The ease of use is significantly increased.

  • Fig. 2 is a plan view of such a switch arrangement.

The switch arrangement shown in the drawing - a so-called coordinate switch - has an assembly and guide body 1 on which five microswitches are attached. Four of them, namely the microswitches 2, 3, 4 and 5 are arranged so that their switching elements 2a, 3a, 4a and 5a lie on the corner points of a square and their sides provided with the switching elements form a plane which is parallel in FIG. 2 to the drawing plane and in Fig. 1 perpendicular to the drawing plane, the horizontal in Fig. 1 running intersection line with the drawing plane is designated 6.

The button-shaped actuator 7 and the switching plunger is in the center of these four switches. The switching plunger running vertically in FIG. 1 and perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 2 consists of two rotationally symmetrical parts 8 and 9, which are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction. The tappet part 8 connected to the actuating member 7 has a cylindrical shaft part, on the upper end of which the actuating button 7 is fastened and the lower end of which opens into a hollow cylindrical part which is open at the bottom. The second plunger part 9 is guided in a vertical bore in FIG. 1 in the mounting and guide body 1 in the vertical direction and has an enlarged outer diameter at its lower end which is larger than the inner diameter of the bore. This second part is hollow on the inside. The two plunger parts 8 and 9 are drawn together by a prestressed spring 10 which is fastened to the plunger parts 8 and 9 by means of pins 16 and 17, so that the lower end face of the plunger part 8 presses against the upper end face of the plunger part 9.

The plunger part 8 is enclosed by an annular switching plate in such a way that the switching plate and the switching plunger part are displaceable relative to one another in the vertical direction (FIG. 1), but that they are moved together in the event of a displacement in the horizontal direction. The outside diameter of this switching plate is slightly smaller than the diagonal of the square formed by the switching elements 2a ... 5a, so that the switching plate is located in the middle between the switching elements in the rest position. The outer edge of this table top is on its underside rounded. The switch plate can be moved in level 6 or on the top of the assembly and guide body 1, 3ie runs parallel to level 6 and slightly above it.

A spring 12 is arranged between the switch plate 11 and a plate 13 located above it, which is fixed in the vertical direction by a ring 14. The spring is biased so that the plate 11 is pressed down. The bias of this spring 12 is, however, less than that of the spring 10.

Below the four switches 2 ... 5, a fifth switch 15 is fastened to the assembly and guide body 1, in such a way that its switching element 15a is actuated when the plunger part 9 is moved downward.

When the user pushes the actuator down, i.e. perpendicular to the plane in which the switching plate 11 is displaceable, the plunger part 8 is moved downward against the force of the spring 12 and with it the lower plunger part 9 until its outer surfaces actuate the switching element 15a. The plunger part 8 is pushed through the switch plate 11. The two plunger parts 8 and 9 do not change their mutual position. The spring 12 returns the coordinate switch to its rest position when the user releases the actuator 7.

If the user moves the actuator laterally, ie perpendicular to the axis of the switching plunger 8, 9, the plunger part 9 does not move while the plunger part 8 tilts, so that its lower end face only touches the end surface of the lower plunger part facing it at one point. By this tilting the shift plate 11 not tilted because its inner diameter is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the plunger part 8 at the relevant point and because / the spring 12 with its underside against the side of the microswitches 2 ... 5 provided with switching elements or against the parallel to it Surface of the guide body 1 presses. However, it is laterally displaced, depending on the direction of the force exerted on the actuating member 7, a switching element is passed over (directions a ... d in FIG. 2) or two switching elements (directions e ... h), which may result in further switching functions be exercised. The force with which it acts on the switches or their switching elements is independent of the force applied by the user and corresponds to the pretension of the spring 12. Because the plunger part 8 is tilted and because the switching elements 2a ... 5a easily from Switching plates can be run over, there are tangible switching paths, which is an advantage for use.

When the tappet part 8 is tilted, the spring 10 is stretched slightly, which increases the pretension slightly. However, since this enlargement is substantially smaller than the preload itself, the force to be applied by the user to tilt the tappet part 8 onto the actuating member 7 remains essentially constant, which also contributes to ease of use. The return to the rest position after releasing the actuating member 7 is essentially effected by the spring 10, which contracts until the facing end faces of the tappet parts 8 and 9 completely touch again.

A simple assembly of several coordinate switches according to the invention can be achieved by lengthening the assembly and guide body 1, the coordinates switches are to be offset against each other in the longitudinal direction of this body. It is not desirable in every application that two switches, for example switches 2a and 5a, are actuated simultaneously when the actuating member is moved. This can be prevented by providing, in parallel to level 6 and above this level, a shift gate 18 indicated in dashed lines in FIG. 1, which only has recesses running in the direction of arrows a, b, c and d, in which the stem of the tappet part 8 is guided when moving the actuator 7.
