A transfer plug system for electrical or electronic controls or devices having coding parts which correspond to one another mechanically and are attached at a cable housing as well as in the area of a counter-plug element, the coding parts being brought into engagement with one another and held by means of a shared locking element, the locking element thus operating to fulfill a dual function of coding for preventing faulty plugging and of fastening and locking the plug housing at plates or in a structural component part carrier.

1. A multi-pin connector for the connection of electrical or electronic controls or appliances, comprising
a) a male contact pin retainer (2) with a guide frame (3, 3a),
b) a cable connector that is capable of being inserted into the guide frame (3, 3a), that holds a socket retaining molding (6) and that is contained in a cable connector housing (15, 21).
c) code pins (5) capable of being inserted in locating openings (19) in the guide frame (3, 3a), with each being capable of entering and locking into an opening (17a) that can be made by breaking out a barrier (17b) in a coding bar (17) provided on at least one side of the connector housing (15,21),

characterized by the following features
d) the coding pins (5) are arranged in the plugging-in direction,
e) each coding pin (5) is locked in its associated locating opening (19) in the guide frame (3, 3a) by clip-like hooks (5a) on one of its ends (5'),
f) the opposite end (5") of each coding pin (5) is provided with a side projection (20) which passes through the opening (17a) in the coding bar (17) of the cable connector housing (15, 21) and catches behind a step (15a) on the adjacent outer wall of the cable connector housing (15, 21).
2. A multi-pin connector in accordance with Claim 1,
characterized by,
the width of the projection (20) matching the internal dimensions of the opening (17a) in the coding bar (17) after the barrier (17b) has been broken out.
3. A multi-pin connector in accordance with claims 1 or 2,
characterized by,
