Description

The invention relates to a refrigerator or freezer according to the preamble of the claim.

In a known cooling device of this type (US-A-2 961 851), a housing designed as a cabinet is provided with a door arranged on the vertical front side. The rear side of the housing forms a condenser, which consists of an independent plate with heat-conducting tubes. The pipes are located on the outer side of the plate facing away from the thermal insulation and run in horizontal loops. The condenser sheet metal carrying the tubes has bent side edges on which the adjacent side edges of the side walls of the housing rest. With this construction, dust and other dirt particles can accumulate on the horizontal parts of the pipes during operation, which increasingly deteriorate the heat emission with the increasing operating time of the cooling device due to the formation of thicker layers. The horizontal loops of the tubes also represent flow resistances for the convection air rising thereon, so that the heat build-up is further increased. In addition, the side edges of the side walls of the housing can be lifted from the bent side edge of the sheet forming the condenser by the pressure forces occurring in the heat insulation, so that the heat transfer to the side walls is deteriorated there. If the heat output from the condenser decreases, the cooling effect in the cooling device or the operating efficiency of the cooling device is reduced, and thus the power consumption is increased.

In addition, the pipes placed on the outside cause the necessary convection duct to be partially narrowed at the rear of the device.

A freezer is also known (US-A-3 122 006), which is designed as a chest with a lid arranged on the top. There, the entire outer housing consists of a single, two-layer aluminum sheet, on the side facing the heat insulation, tubes for guiding refrigerant are formed by compressed air. The entire outer housing here forms a condenser which does not come into contact with other side walls of the housing. A freezer of this type must also be arranged in the region of the side walls connecting the front and rear sides at a distance from adjacent walls in order to ensure heat dissipation there as well. They are therefore not suitable for installation in kitchen furniture like a cupboard.

An evaporator for cooling devices is also known (US Pat. No. 2,795,035). which consists of an aluminum sheet, on the side facing the thermal insulation, aluminum pipes for guiding the refrigerant are arranged. The smooth inner side of the aluminum sheet forms part of the inner wall of the cold room. The aluminum tubes are glued to the aluminum sheet. A connection of the aluminum sheet to adjacent side walls is not specified.

The invention has for its object to take measures in a refrigerator or freezer according to the preamble of the claim, through which a high heat dissipation from the condenser is permanently achieved with a simple, space-saving construction.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of the patent claim.

In the construction of a refrigerator or freezer according to the invention, an optimal heat dissipation from the aluminum tubes carrying the heated refrigerant and at the same time a rapid distribution of the heat over the entire surface of the aluminum plate is achieved by the use of a condenser made of an aluminum sheet with attached aluminum tubes. There is therefore a very large effective heat dissipation area available.

By placing the edge of the aluminum sheet on the bent side edges of the adjacent side walls, the heat dissipation is additionally increased permanently. The heat transfer from the aluminum sheet to the housing side walls is therefore guaranteed even over long operating times. Since the aluminum tubes are arranged on the side of the aluminum sheet facing the thermal insulation, the outside of the condenser remains smooth, so that the convection air can pass unhindered and the heat emitted by the aluminum sheet can be dissipated without hindrance. Dust and other dirt particles can also only adhere to the smooth surface with difficulty, so that the heat is released optimally over a very long period of operation.

An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below.

A cross section of a refrigerator or freezer is shown through a section through the back. The space between the vertical rear side 1 of an inner container designed to hold the goods to be cooled and an aluminum sheet 2 running parallel to it and spaced apart is foamed with heat-insulating foam 3. The aluminum sheet 2 forms the outer rear wall of the housing and at the same time forms part of the condenser. Accordingly, on the side facing the insulating foam 3, the aluminum sheet 2 is connected in a heat-conducting manner to a pipe 4 laid in several turns, through which the heated refrigerant coming from the compressor flows. The tube 4 is also made of aluminum and is connected to the aluminum sheet 2 with good thermal conductivity. It will an optimal heat transfer between the aluminum tube 4 and the aluminum sheet 2 is achieved, which distributes the absorbed heat evenly due to its high thermal conductivity and thereby forms a large heat-emitting surface. In addition, the aluminum sheet 2 is still thermally connected to the bent side edges 5 of adjacent side walls of the housing, so that heat is also dissipated from the aluminum sheet 2 to these side walls. Thus, only a single, relatively narrow convection channel 6 between the aluminum sheet 2 and an adjacent wall 7 is required for the dissipation of the heat to be given off. For a given thickness of the heat insulation layer 3, the back of the inner container can accordingly be set lower than the device door than is possible with a two-pass design of the convection channel.

Due to the arrangement of the aluminum tubes 4 on the side of the aluminum sheet 2 facing the insulating foam 3, the outward-facing side of the aluminum sheet remains without elevations, so that no dust or other dirt is deposited thereon and the heat emission can be reduced. The aluminum tube is preferably glued to the aluminum sheet 2, so that a permanent, uniform heat transfer is ensured.
