- FIG. 1 a single cutting connector is shown. Because of the configuration described, it is readily possible, for example, to design a long terminal strip with a plurality of connections at the individual connection points as such cutting connectors. The contact blades 2, 3 would then be parts of such a terminal strip, as indicated by a dotted line in FIG. 1 'as a possibility.
- an actuation in a confined space also contributes to the fact that at least the contact knife 2 carrying the actuating element 4 has an outer edge which is rounded in accordance with the pivoting radius of the actuating element 4, so that the actuating element 4 during the transfer from its open position into the closed position with the conductor being pressed in between the contact knives 2 and 3 are to be guided as closely as possible around the outer edge of the contact knife 2.

Abstract
The cutting connector has on its contact part (1) two contact blades (2) and (3) with cutting edges, with which the insulation of the electrical conductor pressed between them is cut through making electrical contact. On the contact knife (2) a U-shaped bent part (4) is rotatably mounted as an actuator, which, depending on the rotational position, engages around the contact knife more or less far on the top and bottom and has two driving openings (5) through which the insulated electrical conductor to be pressed in can be inserted. The actuator itself and its actuation movement require very little space in this way. One of the contact blades itself is used for the rotary mounting of the actuator.
Description
The invention relates to a cutting connector with two contact blades receiving the conductor between them and an actuating member that is movable relative to it and provided with driving openings for the insulated conductor.
Such cutting connectors are known in connection with terminal blocks (DE-PS 29 02 536). In the cutting connectors there, the actuators are pivoting levers or sliders made of electrically insulating material, which are mounted or guided on the insulating housing of the terminal block. The actuators make it possible to press the insulated electrical conductor into the conductor receptacle between the two contact knives while bending the insulation and slightly squeezing the metallic conductor core, and also to detach the contact connection thus created.
However, the known design and arrangement of the actuators requires a relatively large space, which is not available for many applications. The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a cutting connector of the generic type which requires very little space and can be operated in the smallest space.
The solution according to the invention is that the actuating member is a molded part which is rotatably mounted on one of the contact knives and, depending on the rotational position, more or less encompasses the contact knives and has an actuating element. The mounting of the actuating member on one of the contact knives themselves and the arrangement of the molded part around the contact knife or knives result in a cutting connector with minimal space requirement, since in this case the molded part only has its outer connection area between the above and the underneath the contact knife lying molded part zones and in the open position of the cutting connector with the molded part area having the two driving openings for the insulated conductor protruding beyond the contact blades, the rotary movement of the actuating element also requiring only minimal space in relation to the contact blade extension. With such a cutting connector, the actuating member increases the space required for the contact blades only insignificantly.
Another significant advantage is that the rotary bearing of the actuator no longer requires insulating housing areas. As a result, the area of application of such a cutting connector is considerably enlarged. In particular, it is possible to design a longer terminal block with a plurality of connection points at the individual connection points as such cutting connectors.
Further preferred configurations of such a cutting connector are characterized in the subclaims. These indicate special structural designs that contribute to the small space requirement of the cutting connector and to its particularly simple construction.
An embodiment of such a cutting connector is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- FIG. 1 shows such a cutting connector in a perspective view,
- FIG. 2 shows a partial section through the cutting connector according to FIG. 1.
The cutting connector shown has on his contact part 1 two
An actuator 4 is now rotatably mounted on the one
In the area lying in front of the
In the leg of the U-shaped bent part 4 lying above the
For the rotary bearing, a hole 7 is provided in the
In the exemplary embodiment shown, a detent 9 is also stamped on the
In Figure 1, a single cutting connector is shown. Because of the configuration described, it is readily possible, for example, to design a long terminal strip with a plurality of connections at the individual connection points as such cutting connectors. The
With an actuation in a confined space also contributes to the fact that at least the
