In bisher bekannten Verfahren werden die Abschreckbäder elektrisch beheizt, z.B. mittels Widerstandsheizung. Die Kühlung erfolgt durch einen Wasserkreislauf. Dabei besteht die Gefahr von Rohrdurchbruch infolge von Korrosion was wiederum zur Explosionsgefahr führt. Luftkühlung ist auch möglich jedoch zu aufwendig, da grosse Kühlflächen erforderlich sind.In previously known processes, the quench baths are electrically heated, e.g. by means of resistance heating. Ein Abschreckbad 1 ist mit einem Abschreckmedium 2, vorzugsweise Oel gefüllt. Um die Temperatur des Abschreckmediums konstant zu halten ist das Abschreckbad 1 mit einem herkömmlichen Wärmeaustauscheraggregat 4 über ein Ab- und Zuleitungsrohr 3 verbunden. Im Abschreckbad 1 wird das Rohr 3 spiralenförmig entlang der Innenwand der Mantelfläche des Bades angeordnet, so dass die Heiz- oder Kühlschlangen 3a vom Boden des Bades bis unter den Badspiegel reichen.A quenching bath 1 is filled with a quenching medium 2, preferably oil. Dann werden die Bauteile ins Bad getaucht. In der Folge wird sich die Temperatur des Bades wegen der höheren Temperatur der Bauteile erhöhen.
