Description

The invention relates to a fuel injection system of the type according to the preamble of claim 1.

A known fuel injection system of this type (DE-OS 28 33 659) contains a distributor line with an inner part made of an elastomer with molded connection sockets, which is enclosed by the two molded parts. The flange plane of the molded parts contains the central axes of the distributor line and the connecting sockets, so that the molded parts essentially represent mirror-like half-shells. This structure of the distributor line leads to a complex and expensive fuel injection system, since not only does the inner part of the distributor line have to be manufactured separately, but also the design of the connecting pieces of the injection valves differs from the standard series design with an O-ring seal. In addition, the distribution line is relatively heavy.

In another known fuel injection system (DE-GM 79 18 697), a square tube which is closed at the ends and has connection sockets soldered into bores is used as the distributor line. The injection nozzles, which are inserted into the connecting bushings in a sealing manner by means of radially acting O-rings, are axially fixed by spring clips. Also here the manufacture of the distribution line is complex and expensive, since the connection sockets have to be manufactured separately and soldered into holes in the distribution line.

The invention has for its object to provide a fuel injection system of the type according to the preamble of claim 1, which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and has a low weight.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The construction of the distribution line from two molded parts simplifies production, since only these two parts have to be manufactured individually and connected to one another. Characterized in that the connection sockets are completely molded onto the one molded part, a reliable seal between the connection sockets and the inserted, each carrying a radially acting O-ring connecting piece of the injection nozzles is guaranteed.

Developments of the invention are characterized in claims 2 to 6. Due to the features of claim 2, a separate closing of the distributor line at the ends is unnecessary. In addition, there is the advantageous possibility of deforming only one of the parts and forming the other as a flat part. The features of claim 3 result in a compact, space-saving design. An advantageous division of the sheet metal deformation problems is achieved by the features of claim 4. The features of claims 5 and 6 result in a compact, reliable and easy-to-use fastening of the injection nozzles, which, in conjunction with the features of claims 3 and 4, has a particularly small space requirement.

In the drawing is an embodiment of the Erfin shown. It shows:
  • 1 is a partially cut longitudinal distribution line of a fuel injection system for internal combustion engines,
  • Fig. 2 shows a cross section of the distributor line of FIG. 1 in the region of a connection socket in which an injection valve is attached, and
  • 3 shows a spring clip for fastening an injection nozzle to the distributor line according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines comprises a distributor line 1, to which two injection valves 3 are fastened by means of spring clips. The distribution line 1 consists of 2 molded parts, an upper part 4 and a lower part 5. Both molded parts are made by deep drawing from sheet metal. The upper part 4 is trough-shaped and has a hat profile in cross section. The ends of the upper part 4 are each closed by an end wall 4 '. A flange 6 is formed by the edges of the hat profile. In the vicinity of the ends of the upper part 4, an inlet connection 7 and a return connection 8 are fastened by upsetting or brazing. The inlet connector 7 and the return connector 8 can also be formed by deep drawing.

The lower part 5 has a flange 9 and is connected to the flange 6 of the upper part 4 by brazing. The lower part 5 are molded sockets 10 which extend into the cavity of the distribution line 1.

The injection nozzles 3 are each inserted with their connecting pieces 11 into one of the connecting sockets 10, an O-ring 13 inserted into a circumferential groove 12 of the connecting piece 11 providing a radial seal between the connecting piece 11 and the connecting socket 10.

The spring clip 2 fastening the injection valve 3 to the distributor line 1 is, on the one hand, radially resiliently latched into an annular groove 14 of the injection valve 3 and, on the other hand, engages behind the flanges 6 and 9 of the upper part 5 and the lower part 5. The spring clips 2 are seen in the axial direction of the connecting sockets 10 U-shaped. The web 15 and the legs 16 lie essentially in one plane. The legs 16 have, on their inner edges, opposing circular arc-shaped concave sections 17, by means of which they rest on the groove base after they have snapped into the annular groove 14 of the injection valve 3. The legs 16 lie flat against the radially extending side walls of the annular groove 14. Sections 18 are formed on the outer edges of the legs 16 and extend perpendicular to the common plane of the web 15 and the legs 16. Each section 18 has a tab 19 which extends through to the axis of the connecting socket 10 and whose free edge 20 is supported on the flange 6.

This configuration of the distributor line 1 and the spring clips 2 enables the injection valves 3 to be installed quickly and easily. The spring clip 2 can first be snapped into the annular groove 14 of the injection valve 3 or locked with the flanges 6 and 9 of the distributor line. For an exchange of the injection valves 3, the spring clips 2 can be moved parallel to the flanges 6 and 9, whereby they disengage from the annular grooves 14. After the insertion of new injection valves 3, the spring clips 2 are simply pushed back into their original position.

The invention provides an easy-to-manufacture, light distributor line for a fuel injection system, in which the spring clips 2 enable the injection valves 3 to be installed and removed quickly. The spring clip 2 itself is over it easy to shape and manufacture. The distributor power 1 or the spring clip 2 can also be made of fuel and temperature-resistant plastic.
