Description

The invention relates to an ammunition container, in particular a drum magazine, with a compartment for receiving a loop of a cartridge belt, which consists of two loop parts arranged next to one another, each loop part abutting a side wall of the compartment.

In a known ammunition container of this type (see CH-A No. 577669), the compartment has a rack-like carrier and the gaps of this carrier serve to accommodate one cartridge of each loop part.

This known ammunition container has the disadvantage that only the cartridges of one loop part can be accommodated in the gaps of the rack-like carrier in each compartment. It is therefore not possible to secure the cartridges of the other loop part against unintentional displacement. This is particularly important if the tip of the cartridges is sensitive and the tip of the cartridge must not be used to guide the cartridges in the ammunition container. In particular in the case of a drum magazine, there is then the risk that the cartridge belt moves unintentionally against the center of the drum magazine, jams in the narrowing compartment and hinders or makes it impossible to remove the cartridge belt from the ammunition container.

The object which is to be achieved by the present invention is to provide an ammunition container in which a reliable removal of the cartridge belt from the compartments of the ammunition container, in particular the drum magazine, is ensured for both parts of the loop of the cartridge belt, so that the removal without large forces are possible and the loop of the cartridge belt in the compartments of the ammunition container is secured against any unintentional movement.

This object is achieved with the ammunition container according to the invention in that a magnet is arranged between each loop part of the cartridge belt and the side wall of the compartment, which is fastened to the side wall and attracts the loop part and secures it against displacement into the center of the drum magazine.

  • Fig. 1 eine schaubildliche Darstellung eines Trommelmagazines, und
An embodiment of the ammunition container according to the invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic representation of a drum magazine, and
  • Fig. 2 is a view of part of the drum magazine shown in Fig. 1 on an enlarged scale.

Selbstverständlich sind an jeder Seitenwand 12 des Trommelmagazins 10 zwei solche Stabmagnete 20 befestigt, die jedoch in der schematischen Darstellung gemäss Fig. 1 der Deutlichkeit halber weggelassen wurden.1, the drum magazine 10 has a number of sector-shaped compartments 11 which are separated from one another by side walls 12. In each compartment 11 of the drum magazine 10 there is a loop 13 of a cartridge belt 14. In the drawing, only two compartments 11 are filled with loops 13 of the cartridge belt 14, the remaining compartments 11 are already shown empty. Each loop 13 of the cartridge belt 14 consists of two loop parts 15 and 16 hanging from the upper edge of the side walls 12, which are connected to one another at the bottom and which abut the side walls 12 of the compartments 11 of the drum magazine 10. A motor 26, which is indicated only schematically as a circle in the drawing, serves to remove the cartridge belt 14 and to feed the cartridge belt 14 to a firearm, not shown in the drawing. Two rod-shaped magnets 20 are shown on one of the side walls 12 in FIG. 1. Of course, two such bar magnets 20 are fastened to each side wall 12 of the drum magazine 10, but these have been omitted in the schematic representation according to FIG. 1 for the sake of clarity.

The drum magazine 10 has a cylindrical wall and a bottom, which are not shown here, however, since they are not the subject of the invention.

According to FIG. 2, each cartridge 17 is located in a belt member 18. The individual belt members 18 are connected to one another in the usual manner and form the cartridge belt 14 shown in FIG. 1. In FIG. 2, only the three cartridges 17-1, 17- 2 and 17-3 at the upper end of a compartment 11, which are denoted in Fig. 1 with the same reference numerals. Only the upper end faces 19 of the side walls 12 are visible in FIG. 2. Each side wall 12 has two cutouts 21 in which the magnets 20 are fastened. Each magnet 20 is located in a rail 22 with a U-shaped cross section and itself has a rectangular cross section. The magnet 20 forms, together with the rail 22, two longitudinal grooves 23, into which two cams 24 of the belt member 18 protrude. The attractive force of the magnet and the cams 24 guided in the longitudinal grooves 23 prevent the cartridge belt 14 from being inadvertently displaced against the center of the drum magazine 10. The magnets 20 are screwed onto the side walls 12 of the ammunition container 10 in a manner not shown. A plate 25 is attached to the magnet 20 between the magnet 20 and the cartridge belt 18.

The force of the magnet 20 is selected so that the loops 13 of the cartridge belt 14 can be easily pushed into the compartments 11 of the drum magazine 10 and can also be easily pulled out again by the motor 26. However, the force of the magnet 20 is sufficiently large to prevent any undesired displacement of the cartridge belt 14 against the center of the drum magazine 10.

A permanent magnet has been used for the magnet 20 in the example shown. An electromagnet could also be used.
