Abstract

Mast ladder having outwardly projecting step attachments which are fixedly connected to the mast. The step attachments (1) possess cutouts (3) at their outer, projecting end. A tensioning rope (4) which is provided with connecting elements (3, 7, 7a) is guided through these cutouts (3), which are arranged one above the other. Said connecting elements (3, 7, 7a) can be used to connect the tensioning rope (4) fixedly to the ends of the step attachments (1). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a mast ladder with outwardly projecting step attachments firmly connected to the mast. In known designs of mast ladders, such as are used in particular on masts for sailing ships, the outwardly projecting step approaches form an obstacle and a danger to the moving ropes (running material) required during sailing operation, in particular if angular ones are still at the outer ends of the approaches Bends are provided to prevent the shoes from slipping on the steps. Since the step extensions project freely outwards, they have to have a relatively large cross-section in order to be able to withstand the weighing stress when walking on the mast ladder; this is particularly evident in aluminum ship masts.

It has therefore already been proposed to additionally secure the step extensions with a bracket arranged above the tread surface and fastened to the mast and to the outer end face of the extension. Although this bracket reduces the risk of rope getting caught in the steps, it does not eliminate it. The bracket makes it difficult to climb the ladder with water-proof footwear and in the dark and brings with it the risk of getting caught with the shoes in heavy weather.

The invention has for its object to overcome these disadvantages and difficulties and to create a mast ladder that is easy to walk on in all weather conditions using lightweight treads and does not hinder the rope.

This object is achieved in that the step attachments at their outer end have recesses for a tensioning rope (want) and connecting elements for the releasable, firm connection of the tensioning rope to the ends of the step attachments or for their support on the, through the superposed recesses of the individual step attachments Have tension rope.

The tensioning rope guided through the outer cantilever ends of the treads not only prevents rope from getting caught on the treads, it also absorbs part of the bending stress on the steps, so that their cross section can be reduced and the attachment of the step to the mast can be simplified. The tensioning rope also serves as a handrail when climbing the mast and gives the mast additional transverse stiffening. The mast can also be climbed at sea in difficult weather without difficulty and with too great a safety risk.

  • Fig. 1 einen Abschnitt der Mastleiter und
  • Fig. 2 die Seitenansicht von Fig. 1.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawing. Show in the drawing
  • Fig. 1 shows a section of the mast ladder and
  • FIG. 2 shows the side view of FIG. 1.

The step approaches 1 consist of a U-profile, which tapers in the direction facing away from the mast 2. A bore 3 is provided on the U-web 1a at the outer end of the web, through which the tensioning cable 4 is guided. A cross plate is welded to the end face of the U-profile of the stepped extension 1 facing the mast 2 and is firmly connected to the mast 2.

The holes 3 with the tension cable 4 are either, as shown in the upper step 1, only from below by a releasable screw 6 or from above and connected from below by pairs of screw terminals 7, 7a to the tensioning cable 4.
