Nachteile der Lösungen mit radial nach außen stehenden Montagehilfen sind jedoch die Beanspruchung relativ großer Bauräume, so daß, wenn zum Beispiel bei Motoren mit zwei Ventilfedern der radiale Bauraum sehr beengt ist, derartige Ventilschaftabdichtungen nicht eingesetzt werden können. Wenn ferner in speziellen Aufgabenstellungen das Ventil bereits in die Führung eingesetzt ist, bevor der Ventilschaftabdichtungsring aufgepreßt wurde, ist die Auslegung des Montagestempels eingegrenzt. Zusätzlich besitzen die Abbiegungen, bedingt durch ihre Herstellung, einen relativ großen Ziehradius und die Versteifungsringe an ihrem Außendurchmesser eine relativ große Schnittoleranz. Zur Toleranzüberbrückung müssen bei derartigen Ringen auch die äußeren Mantelflächen mit Elastomeren überzogen sein. Diese Aufgabenstellung wird erfindungsgemäß durch einen Lippendichtungsring gelöst, dessen zylindrischer Versteifungsteil unter Bildung einer Art Halskrause im zum Dichtlippenteil weisenden Bereich einen größeren Durchmesser als im zum Haftteil weisenden Bereich besitzt. An die innere Mantelfläche des Versteifungszylinders ist das Elastomer anvulkanisiert, während die äußere Mantelfläche und die Grundfläche frei von Elastomerauflagen sind. Die Biegung liegt bevorzugt etwa im mittleren Bereich des Zylinders und erstreckt sich auf eine Länge von bis zu etwa 1/5 der Gesamtlänge des Zylinders. In anderen Fällen haben sich,insbesondere aus fertigungstechnischen Gründen,ovale Versteifungszylinder als vorteilhaft erwiesen.
