Description

La présente invention concerne un capot de distribution destiné à être associé à un récipient pressurisé du type «bombe aérosol».The present invention relates to a distribution cover intended to be associated with a pressurized container of the “aerosol can” type.

The distribution covers known and used hitherto are generally made in two parts, one fixed, the other mobile, the fixed part formed by the cover body being secured to the upper part of the associated pressurized container while the part mobile, in the form of a push button, fits on the valve outlet member which is fitted with the pressurized container. The valve is most often arranged on a cup itself fixed by an annular bead of crimping on the upper part of the container body. Conventionally, the push button is housed inside the hood body; it may include a pipe bent at an angle, the axial branch of which comes to cooperate with the outlet member of the valve and the radial branch of which ends in an ejection nozzle, which is arranged in line with a window made in the wall side of the hood body.

Distribution covers of this kind can advantageously be made in one piece by molding of plastic material in which case, the push button is articulated by a hinge coming from molding relative to the fixed body of the cover. This type of cover generally has an inner skirt provided with hooking members such as lugs or a peripheral ring ensuring the snap-fastening of the cover body to the crimping bead of the valve-holder cup. This is the case, for example, of the distribution cover described in French patent 1,406,177; this cover is made in one piece by plastic molding; it comprises a fixed part consisting of a cover body secured to the pressurized container by snap-fastening of an internal skirt on the crimping bead of the valve-holder cup; it also includes a movable part consisting of a push-button which is partially disposed inside the cover body and cooperates with the outlet member of the valve equipping the pressurized container; the push-button comprises a pipe putting the valve outlet member in communication with an ejection nozzle and it is articulated by a hinge coming from molding relative to the cover body.

However, such covers raise two kinds of difficulties: one in molding, the other in the establishment of the cover on the associated pressurized container. In fact, the distribution covers generally have a complex configuration requiring for their molding in one piece, molds which are expensive to manufacture and which also complicate the demolding operations. In addition, most of the current distribution covers do not lend themselves, due to their design, to automatic positioning, almost without manual intervention, on pressurized containers.

The present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned double drawback and to this end, it proposes to describe a distribution cover made in one piece, of particularly simple shape allowing both a saving of raw material compared to the distribution covers conventional and a simple and fast installation - which can be the object of a deep mechanization - on a pressurized container. The body of the cover according to the invention no longer has an internal skirt used for hooking it onto the valve-holder cup, but its side wall is provided with an annular ring, continuous or discontinuous intended to snap inside. a preformed retaining groove made on the body of the pressurized container. In addition, the push-button is disposed inside the cover body between two guide wings integral with said body, these two guide wings coming to bear on the valve-carrying cup of the pressurized container. The two guide wings thus serve as a stop limiting the depression movement of the cover on the pressurized container at the time of its snap fastening and also increase the crushing resistance of the covers fixed on the pressurized containers, during storage and transport, especially when these sets are stacked on top of each other. Advantageously, the two guide wings are provided with two projecting studs which fit inside the valve-holder cup and which assures its mounting its pre-centering on the associated pressurized container, before the continuous or discontinuous rod of the body is snapped in. cover in the retaining groove of the pressurized container.

In French patent application n ° 8012112 filed on May 30, 1980, (FR-A-24 83 369), a distribution cover has also been described intended to be associated with a pressurized container whose side wall has a preformed retaining groove used for snap-fastening of the hood body. The distribution cover which is the subject of this patent application offers substantially the same advantages as that of the present invention but has a different structure from the fact that it consists of two parts which fit into one another.

The present invention therefore relates to a distribution cover intended to be associated with a pressurized container of the “aerosol can” type, this distribution cover being produced in one piece by molding of plastic material and comprising two parts, l '' one fixed and the other mobile, the fixed part consisting of a cover body secured by snap-fastening to the pressurized container, the mobile part of the dispensing cover consisting of a push button, which is arranged at least partially inside of the cover body and which cooperates with the outlet member of the valve fitted to the associated container, said push button comprising a pipe bringing the valve outlet member into communication with an ejection nozzle, a window being provided in the side wall of the cover body to the right of the push button ejection nozzle, the latter being articulated by a hinge molded in relation to the cover body, characterized in that, f side known per se, the side wall of the cover body, is provided with a continuous or discontinuous rod, intended to snap inside a preformed retaining groove formed on the body of the associated pressurized container, and that inside the body of cover, the push button is arranged between two guide wings integral with the cover body, these two guide wings coming to bear substantially on the annular bead for crimping the valve-holder cup of the associated container.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the cover body comprises members ensuring its pre-centering on the pressurized container, at the time of its installation on the latter, before the snap of the ring of the cover body in the retaining groove of the pressurized container. The aforementioned pre-centering members consist of two studs extending parallel to the axis of the cover body and projecting with respect to the two guide wings, these two studs being intended to fit inside the cup holder -valve of the pressurized container.

In a preferred embodiment, the two guide wings, between which the push button can pivot around its articulation hinge, are connected to the upper wall of the cover body; each of the guide wings connects one of the two edges of the window of the cover body, where the push button ejection nozzle is disposed, to the corresponding edge of a diametrically opposite notch formed in the side wall of the body hood; the two guide wings are substantially symmetrical with respect to an axial plane of the cover and are convergent in the direction of the window of said body, to the right of which is disposed the ejection nozzle of the push button; the push-button has a tongue, the walls of which cooperate with the walls of the guide wings to ensure the movement of the push-button substantially on said container in a plane passing through the sliding axis of the valve outlet member, and perpendicular to the axis of the hinge.

Advantageously, the ejection nozzle is carried by a front wall of the push button which substantially closes the window made in the hood body; the articulation hinge is formed in the connection zone between the base of the front wall of the push button and the bottom of the aforementioned window. As a variant, the articulation hinge consists of two ends of an axis from the molding connecting the wall of the push button, where the radial pipe is formed, to the two guide wings.

According to another advantageous characteristic, the opening made in the upper wall of the cover body to allow the operation of the push button which is housed therein is closed, before the first use of the assembly formed by the cover distribution and the associated pressurized container, by a tamper-evident plate connected by breakable fasteners, molded, to the above-mentioned upper wall. If the tamper plate has not been torn off the cover associated with the container, the user is certain that all that acquires n - not being touched or at least still contains all of the product to distribute conditioned by manufacturer in pressurized container; on the other hand, the fracture or the tearing of the tamper-evident plate means that the push button associated with the valve has been operated at least once and that the container has therefore been subjected to a prior use.

Preferably, the tamper-evident plate is provided in its part which is arranged in the center of the upper wall of the hood body with a deformable pre-cut tab allowing the factory operation of the press button housed inside the body. cover, for the purpose of verifying the proper functioning of the assembly.

It is clear that the cover according to the invention can cooperate according to the shape of the end concerned of the push-button, either with a valve with an emerging stem, or with a valve without an emerging stem.

The present invention also relates to an assembly formed, firstly, of a pressurized container of the “aerosol can” type and, secondly, of a distribution cover molded in one piece, intended to adapt on one end of the aforementioned container, the side wall of the associated container comprising a preformed retaining groove used for snap-fastening of the body of the cover, characterized in that the distribution cover is a cover of the type defined above.

To better understand the object of the present invention, there will be described below, by way of purely illustrative and nonlimiting example, an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing.

On this drawing:
  • - Figure 1 is an axial section showing a dispensing cover according to the invention associated with the upper part of a pressurized container;
  • - Figure 2 is a bottom view, along II-II, of the dispensing cover of Figure 1;
  • - Figure 3 is a top view, along III-III, of the dispensing cover of Figure 1;
  • - Figure 4 is a view similar to that of Figure 2 showing an alternative embodiment of the aritculation of the push button on the body of the cover.

Une coupelle porte-valve est fixée, par un bourrelet annulaire de sertissage 4, à l'extrémité de l'ogive 3.Referring to Figures 1 to 3 of the drawing, we see that we have designated by 1 as a whole, a pressurized container of the "aerosol can" type obtained, for example, by stamping and forming an aluminum pellet . The container 1 has a bottom (not shown), a cylindrical side wall 2 and an upper part 3 in the form of a warhead. A valve holder cup is fixed, by an annular crimping bead 4, to the end of the warhead 3.

In the central part of the valve holder cup, a valve is arranged, the outlet member of which is conventionally constituted by a tube 5 which can slide along its axis. In the connection zone between the cylindrical side wall 2 of the container and the warhead 3, a peripheral retaining groove 6 is formed.

On the upper part of the pressurized container 1, of known type, is fitted a distribution cover made in one piece by plastic molding. Such a cover essentially comprises two parts, on the one hand, a cover body designated by 10 as a whole and, on the other hand, a push button 20 articulated to said cover body.

La paroi latérale cylindrique 11 du corps de capot est pourvue intérieurement, à sa partie inférieure, d'un jonc continu 12 qui, par encliquetage à l'intérieur de la gorge de retenue 6, assure la fixation, de façon sensiblement irréversible, du capot sur la partie supérieure du récipient .The cylindrical side wall 11 of the cover body is provided internally, at its lower part, with a continuous rod 12 which, by snap-fastening inside the retaining groove 6, ensures the fixing, in a substantially irreversible manner, of the cover on the top of the container.

A window 13 and a diametrically opposite notch 14 are formed in the upper part of the side wall 11, in its zone of connection with the upper wall 15 of the cover body 10. The two lateral edges of the window 13 and of the notch 14 are joined two by two by two guide wings 16, 17 extending inside the cover body 10; the two guide wings are arranged symmetrically on either side of the axis of the cover body and are substantially convergent in the direction of the window 13, they are connected to the upper wall 15 of the cover body.

An opening, two opposite edges of which are delimited by the two guide wings 16, 17, is formed in the upper wall 15 of the cover body. The aforementioned opening extends from the central part of the two guide wings 16, 17 to the end of said wings which delimit the notch 14. It is closed by a tamper-evident plate 18 connected by breakable fasteners 19 comings of molding with the upper wall 15 of the cover body. A precut tab 30 (FIG. 3) is provided in the part of the tamper-evident plate 18 which is arranged in the center of the upper wall 15. In the factory, the depressing of the precut tab 30 by means of a tool makes it possible to 'actuate the push button 20 and control the spraying of the product contained in the container 1, without tearing off or damaging the tamper-evident plate 18.

The push button 20 is disposed inside the cover body 10, between the two guide wings 16, 17. It has a channel at right angles to the axial branch 21 of which the outlet tube 5 fits the valve; the radial branch 22 of the square pipe opens out at its end 23 opposite the ejection orifice of a nozzle (not shown). The aforementioned ejection nozzle is carried by a front wall 24 of the push button. The aforementioned front wall 24 is disposed in line with the window 13 formed in the side wall 11 of the cover body 10. The opening defined by the window 13 is substantially closed by the front wall 24 of the push button 20. On the bottom of the window 13 is connected by a hinge 25 coming from molding, the base of the front wall 24 of the push button 20. The hinge 25 constitutes the articulation around which the push button 20 can pivot.

L'encoche 14 a pour but de faciliter la manoeuvre d'enfoncement du bouton-poussoir 20 à l'intérieur du corps de capot 10.In line with the opening in the upper wall 15 of the cover body 10, the push button 20 is provided with a tongue 26. The latter has two lateral edges converging in the direction of the window 13 of the cover body and coming from cooperate with the two wings 16 and 17 to guide the push button 20 substantially in a plane passing through the sliding axis of the outlet tube 5 of the valve and perpendicular to the axis of the articulation hinge 25, when the push button is pressed. The tongue 26 has at its upper part a depression in which is housed the finger of the user who acts on the push button 20. It is also provided with a substantially square return 27 of rounded shape. The purpose of the notch 14 is to facilitate the pushing in operation of the push button 20 inside the cover body 10.

In the central zone of the two guide wings 16, 17, two studs 28 are provided which extend parallel to the axis of the cover and are arranged symmetrically on either side of the latter. The two aforementioned pins 28, which project relative to the two guide wings 16, 17, are intended to fit inside the valve-holder cup where they cooperate with the circular inner wall of the crimping bead 4.

The assembly of the distribution cover which has just been described on the pressurized container 1 can be carried out either manually or on a machine. The cover body 10, which is presented above the pressurized container 1, is fitted onto the upper part of the latter; during this driving-in movement, the two studs 28 penetrate inside the valve-holder cup and the cooperation of said studs with the inner circular wall of the crimping bead 4 ensure the centering of the cover body on the pressurized container; the sinking operation is continued until the two guide wings 16 and 17 are supported on the crimping bead 4 of the valve-holder cup and snap-fastening of the peripheral ring 12 inside the retaining groove 6 of the pressurized container; the outlet tube 5 of the valve is automatically inserted inside the axial pipe 21 of the push button. It should be noted that the fitting of the cover on the pressurized container 1 can be carried out without any particular precaution and without risk of sinking of the outlet tube 5 of the valve, since this sinking movement is limited by the bearing of the two guide wings 16 and 17 on the crimping bead 4 of the valve holder cup.

To implement the assembly formed by the pressurized container 1 and the dispensing cover, the user tears off the tamper-evident plate 18, so as to be able to depress the push button 20 by acting, using a finger, on the depression formed on the tongue 26; the upper wall 15 of the cover body serves to limit the angular movement of the push button 20 around its articulation hinge 25 in the opposite direction to that which corresponds to a depression of the tube outlet 5 of the valve and, consequently, at the opening of said valve.

In Figure 4 there is shown an alternative embodiment concerning the articulation of the push button 20 on the hood body. In the embodiment of Figures 1 to 3, the push button 20 has a front wall 24 hinged by the hinge 25 on the bottom of the window 13. In the variant of Figure 4, the wall of the push button 20, where is arranged the radial pipe 22, is connected to the two guide wings 16, 17 by two ends of coaxial axis 40; these two ends of coaxial axis 40 came from molding and constitute the hinge of articulation of the push button 20. It should be noted that the two ends of coaxial axis 40 undergo only little stress during operation, the due to the small angular movement of the push button necessary to cause the outlet tube 5 of the valve to sink and the product contained in the container to be ejected and also due to the presence of the two guide wings 16 and 17 serving to guide the travel of the push-button 20 along the sliding axis of the outlet tube 5 of the valve and perpendicular to the ends of the axis 40.

It is understood that the embodiment described above is in no way limiting and may give rise to any desirable modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.
