  • Figures 1, 4 and 5 have some similarity with the can end described in Werth et al U.S. Patent No. 3,741,432 in that the pressure releasing tabs are located partly within the pouring tabs. However, in the present invention the pressure releasing tab is partly located outside the pouring tab and its hinge or connection is not coincident with the hinging connection of the pouring tab to the end. This provides the quite distinct advantage that a separate air venting passageway, outside the confines of the opening closed by the pouring tab, is formed when the pouring tab is opened, whether or not the pressure releasing tab has been opened previously.
  • the separate air venting passageway will remain open even when the pouring opening is full of liquid since the venting tab extends outside the pouring opening. Furthermore, the air vent passageways created in the present embodiments are less likely to be covered during the drinking operation, even if the whole of the pouring opening is covered by the mouth of the user.
  • closures of the present invention can be used in can ends or in other container members, and can be formed of any suitable sheet metal material, including aluminium and steel, and can be of any suitable shape, depending upon the shape of the can body to which the can end or other container member is to be secured. It is also envisaged that the closures may be made in plastics materials by suitable moulding techniques.

  • the sealant which is used for fully severed closures can be any suitable means or material, such as a sealing compound, plastic tape, adhesive foil, hot melt material, or a combination thereof.
  • a particularly suitable sealing compound is a plastisol-grade polyvinylchloride combined with a conventional plastisizer and compounding ingredients.
  • Such plastisol should be heat curable to form a non-tacky, somewhat yieldable solid material that aids in retaining the closure in place and maintains a hermetic seal under pressures of the magnitudes which normally occur in cans of carbonated and malt beverages.

Claims (7)

1. Behälterteil zur Verwendung in einem Behälter für eine unter Druck stehende Flüssigkeit, wobei das Behälterteil einen durch Eindrücken leicht zu öffnenden Ausgußverschluß (80, 80', 90, 80", 100), welcher durch wenigstens eine Schwächungslinie bestimmt ist und einen kleineren Druckentlastungsverschluß (82, 82', 92, 82", 102), enthält, der ebenfalls durch wenigstens eine Schwächungslinie definiert ist und der durch eine Eindrückkraft geöffnet werden kann, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Druckentlastungsverschluß teilweise innerhalb und teilweise außerhalb des Ausgußverschlusses gebildet und so angeordnet ist, daß er durch das Öffnen des Ausgußverschlusses dauerhaft geöffnet wird, um einen Entlüftungsweg zu bilden, der die Entlüftung des Inhaltes des Behälters während des Ausgießens oder des Austrinkens unterstützt.
2. Behälterteil nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß integral mit dem Behälterteil oder mit dem Ausgußverschluß verbunden ist (83, 83', 93, 83", 103) und der Druckentlastungsverschluß beim Öffnen des Verschlusses sich gegen diese Verbindung biegt und wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß so ausgebildet ist, daß er beim Fortfall der Eindrückkraft im wesentlichen in seine geschlossene Stellung zurückkehrt.
3. Behälterteil nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß so ausgebildet ist, daß eine Abbiegung des Verschlusses durch eine mit dem Finger ausbeübte Eindrückkraft über einen Winkel hinaus verhindert wird, bei welchem die elastische Bruchgrenze des Metalles an dieser Verbindung überschritten wird.
4. Behälterteil nach Anspruch 3, wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß in einem ausreichenden Abstand von der Verbindung zu dem Behälterteil angeordnet ist, um eine Abbiegung der Verbindung über den genannten Winkel zu ververhindern.
5. Behälterteil nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß integral mit dem Behälterteil verbunden ist und um diese Verbindung der Druckentlastungsverschluß während des Öffnungsvorganges verschwenkt und wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß so ausgebildet ist, daß er die Verbindung bei der Öffnung derselben dauerhaft deformmiert.
6. Behälterteil nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei der Behälterteil aus Blech besteht und der Ausgußverschluß und der Druckentlastungsverschluß von dem Blech voll abgeschert wird mit Ausnahme eines Teils, welches jeden dieser Verschlüsse mit dem Behälterglied verbindet und wobei der Ausgußverschluß und der Druckentlastungsverschluß das die von den Verschlüssen verschlossene Öffnung umgebende Blech überlappt und darunterliegt.
7. Behälterende zur Verwendung in einem Behälter für unter Druck stehende Flüssigkeit, wobei das Behälterende einen durch Eindrücken leicht zu öffnenden Ausgußverschluß (80, 80', 90, 80", 100), welcher durch wenigstens eine Schwächungslinie definiert ist, und einen kleineren Druckentlastungsverschluß (82, 82', 92, 82", 102) enthält, der ebenfalls durch wenigstens eine Schwächungslinie definiert ist und der durch eine Eindrückkraft geöffnet werden kann, wobei der Druckentlastungsverschluß teilweise innerhalb und teilweise außerhalb des Ausgußverschlusses gebildet ist und der Druckentlastungsverschluß so angeordnet ist, daß er für immer geöffnet wird, wenn der Ausgußverschluß geöffnet wird und wobei diese Verschlüsse integral mit dem Behälterende an einer Stelle in der Nähe der Peripherie des Endes verbunden sind (83, 83', 93, 83", 103) und wobei der ständig geöffnete Druckentlastungsverschluß eine Flüssigkeitsdrainageöffnung bildet, die ein im wesentlichen vollständiges Entleeren des in den das Behälterende aufweisenden Behälter gefüllten Flüssigkeitsinhaltes erleichtert.
