Description

The invention relates to a roller conveyor dryer for wide veneers, the support rollers and top rollers of which are drive-connected on one or both sides by spur gears arranged on longitudinal axes, and whose top rollers can be temporarily lifted off the support rollers in order to enable the veneers to shrink without shrinkage.

Such a roller conveyor dryer is known from DE-PS 17 29 459, in which one or more than one tooth gap is filled in either the top roller spur gears or the carrier roller spur gears. This causes the top rollers to lift temporarily from the support rollers, but an intermittent drive load and thus a higher wear of the drive device occurs.

Another disadvantage is the high bearing load on the lower, fixed support rollers due to the fact that the cover rollers are raised in this way when the tooth of the driving spur gear hits the filled tooth gap and the subsequent jerky drop of the cover rollers. The consequence of this is that the carbon plain bearings used for storage are subject to greater wear and must be replaced more often.

Since when the top rollers are lifted they do not run at the same speed as the carrier rollers for a short time, the drying material can run during transport through the roller conveyor dryer.

The object of the invention is now to develop and improve a roller conveyor dryer of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that intermittent lifting and jerky falling down of the top rollers is avoided.

This object is achieved in that opposite cam disks are arranged near the spur gears on the longitudinal axes of the support and cover rollers.

Another feature of the invention is that the cam discs have one or more cams, each of which is in contact with each other.

The cams on the cam discs are designed in such a way that a smooth, bump-free lifting and lowering of the cover rollers is ensured. So there is no shock load on the drive and the bearings.

Since the cams are arranged on the cam disks in such a way that they always meet during the rotation of the support and cover rollers and are always in contact with one another, the result is that the support and cover rollers are driven at the same speed. Therefore, the drying material does not run during transport through the roller conveyor dryer.

Since the cam discs precisely match the rolling radius of the tooth flanks at the pitch circle and pressure angle Change are adjusted, the spur gears are always engaged so that the support and top rollers rotate at a constant speed.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the object of the invention is illustrated in more detail. In this shows
  • 1 is a front view of a pair of support rollers and top rollers with the cam discs designed according to the invention,
  • Fig. 2 shows a pair of cams, each with a cam arranged on the circumference of a cam and
  • 3 and 4 each show a pair of cams with two and three cams arranged on the circumference of a cam.

In the roller conveyor dryer, the transport rollers, the support rollers 1 and the top rollers 2 lie directly on top of one another, the veneer to be dried being transported between the support rollers 1 and top rollers 2.

The support and top rollers 1, 2 have longitudinal axes 3, 4, which are mounted in bearings 5, 6. The support rollers 1 are driven by a drive 7, while the cover rollers 2 are moved by spur gears 8, 9 fastened on the longitudinal axes 3, 4, which can be arranged on one or both sides of the support and cover rollers 1, 2.

In addition to the spur gears 8.9, 3.4 cam disks 10, 11 are arranged on the longitudinal axes, which can also be attached to the support and cover rollers 1, 2 on one or both sides. The cam disks 10, 11 are located and roll against each other. One, two or three cams 12 can be attached to the individual cam disks 10, 11.

The cover rollers 2 rest on the support rollers 1 due to their own weight and stand out from the support rollers 1 when the veneers are transported in accordance with the veneer thickness.

Since the veneers shrink during drying and the drying should take place without cracks, the top rollers 2 must be raised so that the veneers between the support and top rollers 1, 2 have enough space during the process of sight winding.

By mounting the cam disks 10, 11 on the longitudinal axes 3, 4 on one or both sides of the support and cover rollers 1, 2, the cover rollers 2 can be gently raised and lowered again in the direction of the arrows A, so that a smooth operation is ensured.

The cam disks 10, 11 can be connected directly to the spur gears 8, 9 or can be mounted as separate disks in front of or behind the spur gears 8, 9 on the longitudinal axes 3, 4.

The arrangement of a plurality of cams 12 on the circumference of the cam disks 10, 11 ensures that the top rollers 2 lift off from the support rollers 1 several times during one revolution.

The cam disks 10, 11 can also be retrofitted to existing dryers.
