Claims (13)

1. Typing machine with a type carrier arranged in an exchangeable magazine (1) and carrying the printing type assembly, and with a receiving arrangement (7, 10) for the exchangeable magazine in the machine, the exchangeable magazine (1) having control means (11, 13; 13a; 20; 22) which can be brought into operative connection with control members (14, 14a) upon insertion of the exchangeable magazine (1) in the receiving arrangement (7, 10), characterised in that the type carrier is constructed in the form of a type disk provided with individual type stems and that the control arrangements of the typing machine for functions, such as letter or line stepping, rightwards or leftwards direction of typing, printing energy of the printing hammer, and automatic occupation of the keyboard with symbols, are automatically adaptable and switchable to the typographical character form of the printing type assembly employed by means of the cooperation of the control means (11, 13, 13a, 20, 22) of the exchangeable magazine (1) with the control means (14, 14a) in the receiving arrangement (7, 10).
2. Machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the control means are detachable guide markers (13 or 13a).
3. Machine according to claim 2, characterised in that the guide markers (13 and 13a) are members formed on a part (4, 4a or 5, 5a) of the magazine (1, 1a) by means of predetermined breaking points and of the same material.
4. Machine according to claim 1 characterised in that the control means are magnetisable zones (20) of a foil (19) attached to a part (5a or 4a) of the magazine (1 a).
5. Machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the control means (13a; 20; 22) are provided on a cover (5a; 5b) of the magazine.
6. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims, characterised in that check markers (25) which can be broken off are also provided on a part of the magazine (1b), for example the reception part (4b), the check markers corresponding to control markers (13b) provided on the other part, thus the cover 5b, for a mutual checked engagement.
7. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims, characterised in that the control members (14), are arranged in the lower region (15) of the receiving means for the reception part (4) of the magazine (1), the receiving means consisting of an insertion shaft (10).
8. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims, characterised in that the control members (14a) are arranged in a receiving recess (7) of the typing machine (6) for the cover (5a) of the magazine (1a).
9. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims 2, 3 and 5 to 8, characterised in that the control members (14a) are optical scanner members.
10. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims 5 to 8, characterised in that the control members (14) are electrical contacts arranged in an electrical circuit.
11. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims 4 to 8, characterised in that the control members are magnetic interrogation means (e.g. a magnetic read head).
12. Machine according to claim 1 and one or more of the preceding dependent claims 5 to 8, characterised in that the control means are an electronic sub-assembly representing a storage element of a micro-processor inside the machine, especially a »ROM«.
13. Machine according to claims 1 and 12, characterised in that the control means contain part of a program for the microprocessor.
