  • the registration member 118 is mounted for rotation and is integral with two cam members 120 each having three arcuate portions 122 and three flats 124, the flats extending at right angles to the median line passing through the apex of the trigonal member.

  • the motion of the tongue member is controlled by interaction of the cam surfaces 120,122 and the transverse cam follower member 134 at the tip of the tongue member.
  • the arcuate portions 122 of the cam members 120 pivot the guide member 112 to allow fresh registration of the web, after a given label has been dispensed. Re-registration occurs when two notches 117 engage two apices 119 and the cycle is thus repeated.
  • Each indexing step will rotate the member 118 through 120°. For a four-sided member the index rotation will be 90°.
  • Friction between the web 116 and the guide member 112 provides braking action of the web and thus ensures adequate but not excessive tension in the web both upstream and downstream of the registration member 118.
  • the member 112 therefore also acts as brake means.
  • the hereinbefore described registration device has the important advantage that it can be incorporated upstream of the dispense edge of a label or ticket applicator or dispenser and the force required to feed a web through the apparatus is reduced because the friction force generated at the dispense edge does not need to be overcome.
  • accurate registration can be achieved, and it becomes possible to incorporate a re-wind reel for spent backing strip downstream of the dispense edge.

Claims (8)

1. Vorrichtung zum Abgeben von einzelnen Etiketten von einem Etikettenband (21) mit durch Sollreißstellen voneinander getrennt auf einem Tragband angebrachten Etiketten, mit einer Rollenhalterung (20) für die Lagerung einer Rolle des Etikettenbands, einer Bremseinrichtung (25) zum Verhindern des Überlaufend des Etikettenbands beim Abziehen desselben von der Rolle, einem eine Kante aufweisenden Umlenkglied (32), an welchem die einzelnen Etiketten vom Tragband abschälbar sind, und einer zum Hindurchziehen des Etikettenbands durch die Vorrichtung betätigbaren Zugeinrichtung (12), gekennzeichnet durch eine drehbare, im wesentlichen dreieckige, in der Bewegungsrichtung des Etikettenbands nach der Bremseinrichtung (25 oder 112), jedoch vor dem die Kante aufweisenden Umlenkglied angeordnete Schrittsteuereinrichtung (28 Oder 118), welche entsprechend drei Fortschaltschritten für jede Umdrehung drei in Längsrichtung des Etikettenbands der Längsabmessung jedes einzelnen Etiketts entsprechende Abmessungen aufweisenden Flächen hat und mittels der Bandzugeinrichtung (12) fortschaltbar ist, so daß die Kanten der dreieckigen Schrittsteuereinrichtung nacheinander an den Sollreiß- .stellen des von der Bremseinrichtung, dem die Kante aufweisenden Umlenkglied und einer mittels der Bandzugeinrichtung (12) betätigbaren Aufwickelrolle (22) unter Zugspannung gehaltenen Etikettenbands kommen, so daß eine ,genaue Ausrichtung aufeinander folgender Etiketten in bezug auf das die Kante aufweisende Umlenkglied (32) gewährleistet ist.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bandzugeinrichtung ein langgestrecktes, geradliniges Teil (12) aufweist, welches während der Vorwärtshubs die Fortschaltung und die Abgabe eines Etiketts bewirkende Einrichtungen (18, 35) trägt, während der Rückwärtshub allein die Rückführung der Wirkteile in die Ausgangsstellung für das nächste Arbeitsspiel bewirkt.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, gekennzeichnet durch ein mittels der Bandzugeinrichtung (12) betätigbares Druckwerk (40) zum Bedrucken eines Etiketts auf einer unmittelbar zunächst der Abgabestelle angeordneten Druckunterlage (32).

Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Drehbare, im wesentlichen dreieckige Schrittsteuereinrichtung (118) wenigstens drei im wesentlichen konkave Flächen aufweist, deren Abmessungen wenigstens in Längsrichtung des Etikettenbands der entsprechenden Abmessung eines einzelnen Etiketts des Bands entsprechen und welche durch quer zur Bewegungsrichtung des Etikettenbands verlaufende Kanten (119). begrenzt sind.
5. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Bremseinrichtung ein in der Bewegungsbahn des Etikettenbands vor der drehbaren Schrittsteuereinrichtung angeordnetes, verschwenkbares Führungs- und Bremsglied (112) und eine das Etikettenbandl-in Anlage an der Schrittsteuereinrichtung belastende Einrichtung (128, 130) aufweist.
6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Belastungseinrichtung (128, 130) und das schwenkbare Führungs-und Bremsglied (112) eine Baueinheit bilden und daß die Belastungseinrichtung Vorsprünge (128, 130) aufweist, welche an den die Flächen der Schrittsteuereinrichtung begrenzenden Querkanten (119) angreifen.

Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5 oder 6, gekennzeichnet durch ein gemeinsam mit der Schrittsteuereinrichtung drehbares und mit dem schwenkbaren Führungs- und Bremsglied (112) zusammenwirkendes Kämmglied (120) zum Variieren der Wirkung der Belastungseinrichtung im Zusammenwirken mit der an der Ablaufseite der Schrittsteuereinrichtung (118) auf das Etikettenband (116) ausgeübten Zugspannung.

Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Belastungseinrichtung eine Zunge (134) aufweist, mit zwei Vorsprüngen (128, 130) und einer dazwischen liegenden Vertiefung, welche nacheinander mit den Kanten (119) der Schrittsteuereinrichtung in Eingriff kommt, um ein Teil des Etikettenbands in Eingriff mit den Kanten zu halten.
