  • Plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon are more elastic than malleable and give the walls of the tubes a "memory". After a temporary deformation, the wall tends to return to its original shape. Thus, when an empty plastic tube is closed by mechanical clamping, it tends to resume, when it is released, its initial tubular shape.
  • Plastic tubes or metal and plastic complex tubes cannot be closed by simple bending and stripping, as is the case with aluminum tubes, which remain folded and flattened.
