Description
The present invention relates to the housings of electric pocket lamps powered by batteries.
It is increasingly known to replace metal flashlight housings with housings made of plastic material in order to remedy the drawbacks that these presented. On the one hand, a malfunction was generally due to poor contacts or poor insulation of certain elements; on the other hand, the metal cases were often deteriorated by the rapid oxidation caused by the decomposition of the discharged batteries which they contained after a certain period of non-use. If the use of plastic materials could remedy the second disadvantage cited, the currently known embodiments always use the same type of contacts, consisting in putting each of the battery terminals in permanent connection with a flexible metal blade, one of which ends at the end of the base of the bulb and the '' comes to rest on the cylindrical part of the sleeve by elastic deformation under the action of a push button movable in translation, thus closing the electrical circuit. These contact blades are either incorporated into the mold before injection of the plastic material, or introduced after demolding the housing in housings provided for this purpose. Both of these manufacturing methods have the disadvantage of being expensive and of being often deteriorated in the areas of implantation of the contact blades due to the variation in elasticity of the plastic materials under the influence of low temperatures or aging.
To avoid the presence of contact blades, US Patent 1,404,077 provides a removable battery in the housing of an electric lamp. The electric circuit battery-light bulb is closed or opened by actuating a push button outside the housing which allows the battery to be moved axially in order to put the battery pad in contact or out of contact with the base of the bulb. Such a system being designed only for cylindrical cells, and not being in any way intended to be made of plastic material, does not solve the problems set out above.
There are also known flashlights such as those described in patent FR 69.16.548, which comprise a piece in one piece intended for fixing the lighting head as well as for housing the bulb, said piece being made of an electrically insulating material. This patent FR 69.16.548 describes flashlights only intended for cylindrical batteries and moreover comprising two
Flashlights according to the cited French patent have a complex assembly and are therefore expensive to manufacture.
The housing according to the invention makes it possible to avoid all of the drawbacks set out above by limiting the number of metal parts entering into its production to one, which part, possibly, can be easily replaced in the event of deterioration.
The housing object of the invention consists mainly of a lower body and an upper body of plastic material assembled by elastic clipping. The upper body comprises the parabolic reflector and the glass as well as a removable shouldered ring made of plastic molded on a metal socket comprising, obtained by pushing back, threads in which the electric bulb is screwed, which metal socket has at its base a flexible metal blade intended to make contact with the pole of the battery. The lower body of rectangular section, comprises, in the upper part of one of its small faces, a through groove in the joint plane of the upper and lower bodies in which the axis of a push button moves in translation, which controls the alternating vertical displacement of a cradle supporting the battery so as to bring the terminals of the latter into contact with the metal blade of the socket and of the lamp base to close the electrical circuit.
- - Fig. 2, une coupe transversale suivant BB,
- - Fig. 3, une vue en bout côté poussoir,

- - Fig. 4, an end view on the pusher side, the latter being assumed to be removed.
As shown, the housing consists of a
The
The invention is in no way limited to the embodiment especially described, but it em on the contrary brews all possible variants provided that these are not inconsistent with the subject of each of the claims appended to this description.
Thus, the shouldered ring may comprise, executed in the material which constitutes it, the threads in which the bulb is screwed, the
The invention applies to the production of all electric flashlight housings.
