Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for emptying silos, in particular chip silos, with a screw conveyor with conveying tips which rotates in the bottom region of the silo in a plane or on a cone jacket and which feeds the material to an emptying shaft, the emptying shaft extending from approximately to a hood rotating with the screw conveyor the screw cross section is kept closed.
- the invention has for its object to further develop and improve the known devices of the type concerned, as described for example in CH-PS 516 457.
- the known device has proven itself in operation.
- the special object of the invention is to design the known device such that the aforementioned blocking can no longer occur in the case of moist fine chips.
- the invention consists in that the hood has a cross-section in the form of a spiral, the recess of which lies from the largest to the smallest radius in the plane of the axis of the screw conveyor, and the continuously increasing radius of the spiral hood lies in the direction of rotation of the hood.
- the design of the hood according to the invention ensures that the worm, with its front worm gears - seen from above - in front of the recess, eats into the material (chips) and at the same time the material in the direction of the screw axis to the emptying shaft and the screw conveyor itself Hood rotated around a vertical axis.
- the hood which is spiral in cross-section and which practically represents a wedge in the unwound state, is continuously detached from the surrounding chip material, which means that it cannot be blocked.
- the device 10 for emptying chip silos 11, dedusting systems or the like is detachably arranged in the bottom area of the chip silo 11 and has a manhole 13 which forms an emptying shaft 12 and is to be fastened in the silo bottom 11a; a screw conveyor 14 rotating and axially rotating on a plane, preferably a horizontal plane or a conical jacket, with exchangeable conveyor tips 14a, feeds the chips from the silo 11 to the emptying shaft 12, from where it is transported by means of fans 15 via channels (transport routes) 16 to an incineration plant becomes.
- the screw 14 rotates in a preferred manner about a vertical axis and rolls on the silo bottom 11 a; the bearing point of the conveyor screw 14 extends in the region of the discharge shaft 12 and the axis of rotation for the conveyor screw 14 advantageously coincides with the longitudinal axis of the discharge shaft 12.
- the emptying shaft 12 is kept closed by a hood 17 rotating with the screw conveyor 14 except for approximately the screw cross section.
- the hood 17 grips with a recess serving as an insertion opening 18 over the shaft-side end region of the screw conveyor 14, so that the chips to be discharged can be moved by means of the screw conveyor 14 only through the insertion opening 18 into the emptying shaft 12.
- the introduction 18 of the hood 17 is formed by an opening in the cylindrical hood shell corresponding to the screw diameter, which opening is opened on the underside towards the shaft 12 by vertical, parallel tangential edges (cuts) and its opening edge corresponds to an inverted U.
- the cross section of the hood 17 is in the form of a spiral, the recess of which lies from the largest to the smallest radius in the plane of the axis of the screw conveyor.
- the radius of the spiral hood increases continuously in the direction of rotation thereof.
- the hood has on the lower shaft-side edge area of its lateral surface a sealing part extending around the insertion opening 18, such as brush tape 19, which slides along a peripheral edge 13a (sliding surface) of the shaft jacket 13 and thus the emptying shaft 12 in the area of contact with the hood 17 opposite the Seals silo room.
- the hood 17 is equipped with a conical sliding surface 20 which extends above the screw 14 and represents the hood cover, the cone tip of which coincides with the axis of rotation of the hood.
- a conveyor part 21 which rotates faster than the hood 17, such as a conveyor cross, which is equipped with conveyor vanes which are oriented obliquely to the axis of rotation and project beyond the hood jacket (hood diameter) at the end; a cross-sectional axis of each wing extends obliquely to the axis of rotation.
- the conveyor part 21 rotates in a horizontal plane at a distance from the hood sliding surface 20, so that between the hood sliding surface 20 and the conveyor part 21 forms a chip pad that supports the concentricity of the screw conveyor 14; due to the conveyor part 21 rotating faster than the hood 17, its inclined wing and the conical sliding surface 20, the chip material pad exerts a thrust effect on the hood 17, whereby its rotational speed and thus the concentricity of the screw conveyor 14 is increased in a certain range.
- the screw conveyor 14 and the hood 17 are attached to a common drive head 22 arranged within the hood 17 and / or the emptying shaft 12 for rotational movement, so that the screw 14 and the hood 17 are coupled in terms of movement; the axial rotary movement of the screw conveyor 14 can be carried out by means of bevel gears or the like arranged inside the drive head 22.
- a conveying part 23, such as a conveying cross, is rotatably mounted, which feeds the chip material moved into the emptying shaft 12 to one or more through openings 24 through which the chip material can get into the channels 16.
- the lower conveying part 23 is connected in terms of movement to the upper conveying part 21, and both conveying parts 21, 23 are driven independently of the hood and screw rotation.
- the screw conveyor 14 rotates, the chip material located in the silo 11 is conveyed by the latter to the insertion opening 18 by its rotary movement and can pass through this insertion opening 18 into the hood 17 and into the emptying shaft 12.
- the conveyor part 21, which rotates independently of the screw and hood rotation, serves as a loosening cross and prevents the chip material from encrusting or the formation of chip bridges above the hood 17, at the same time supporting the screw concentricity.

Description
The invention relates to a device for emptying silos, in particular chip silos, with a screw conveyor with conveying tips which rotates in the bottom region of the silo in a plane or on a cone jacket and which feeds the material to an emptying shaft, the emptying shaft extending from approximately to a hood rotating with the screw conveyor the screw cross section is kept closed.
The invention has for its object to further develop and improve the known devices of the type concerned, as described for example in CH-PS 516 457. The known device has proven itself in operation. However, it has been found that with certain types of chips, especially fine and especially with moist chips, the hood rotating with the screw conveyor around a vertical axis is easily blocked. This is because the fine damp chips surrounding the hood are strongly pressed together by the pressure of the chip column in the silo and pressed against the hood so that they exert a strong braking effect on the hood like brake shoes on brake drums. In extreme cases, this braking effect can become so great that the hood and thus the screw conveyor are blocked in their rotation about the vertical axis.
The special object of the invention is to design the known device such that the aforementioned blocking can no longer occur in the case of moist fine chips.
The invention consists in that the hood has a cross-section in the form of a spiral, the recess of which lies from the largest to the smallest radius in the plane of the axis of the screw conveyor, and the continuously increasing radius of the spiral hood lies in the direction of rotation of the hood.
The design of the hood according to the invention ensures that the worm, with its front worm gears - seen from above - in front of the recess, eats into the material (chips) and at the same time the material in the direction of the screw axis to the emptying shaft and the screw conveyor itself Hood rotated around a vertical axis. The hood, which is spiral in cross-section and which practically represents a wedge in the unwound state, is continuously detached from the surrounding chip material, which means that it cannot be blocked.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of a device for emptying the same arranged in a chip silo,
- FIG. 2 shows a partial section of the same device with a screw conveyor and a hood covering an emptying shaft,
- Figure 3 is a schematic section along line 111-111 of Figure 2 to show the spiral hood in cross section with screw conveyor while leaving out the other parts.
The
The
The
The
The cross section of the
The hood has on the lower shaft-side edge area of its lateral surface a sealing part extending around the insertion opening 18, such as
The
The
The
In the
The
An uncontrolled chip penetration into the
It is possible to design the drive of the screw conveyor and the hood for rotation in different ways and to provide different movements for the conveyor parts; furthermore, instead of the brush strip as a sealing part, a different type of flexible or elastic part, such as a rubber or plastic profile, can also be provided.
