Abstract

Se revelan métodos y sistemas para desalinizar agua salada. El método incluye (a) la extracción de agua de alimentación a partir de un cuerpo de agua salada a una determinada profundidad por debajo de la superficie del cuerpo de agua salada; (b) el transporte del agua de alimentación a uno o más recipientes de ósmosis inversa sumergidos en el cuerpo de agua salada y situados una profundidad mayor que la profundidad dada en la cual se extrae el agua de alimentación en el paso (a); (c) la desalinización controlable del agua de alimentación en uno o más recipientes de ósmosis inversa para producir agua dulce y concentrado de salmuera de manera tal que la salinidad del concentrado de salmuera sea sustancialmente la misma que la salinidad del agua salada en el cuerpo de agua salada a una profundidad predeterminada por debajo la superficie del cuerpo de agua salada; y (d) la descarga del concentrado de salmuera en el cuerpo de agua salada a la profundidad predeterminada por debajo de la superficie del cuerpo de agua salada.
