Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con la solución de problemas ligado con la localización pasiva de blancos en el modo TOA (Tiempo De Arribo) o el modo TDOA (Diferencia de tiempo de arribo). La localización pasiva de un blanco en el modo TOA o TDOA implica un entrelazamiento (división) en volúmenes del espacio en el cual el blanco de la localización se sitúa. El conjunto de volúmenes que definen este entrelazamiento es analizado en una forma iterativa. A cada iteración, cada volumen de interés es dividido en subvolúmenes de dimensiones idénticas. De acuerdo con la invención, un volumen de interés es un volumen que incluye al menos un punto que pertenece al área de localización buscada cuya forma tiene que ser determinada. Este proceso iterativo se detiene cuando las dimensiones de los subvolúmenes obtenidas en la iteración corresponden a la solución deseada. La invención puede ser usada de manera particular en sistemas de localización 2D y 3D que incluyan medios para implementar TOA TDOA o modos mezclados.
