The devices may comprise a cylinder having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end region, and a distal end region. The proximal end region may contain an opening and the cylinder may be configured to receive a medication therein. The piston rod may be located at least partially within the cylinder and protrude from the bore. The piston rod may comprise a rack having a plurality of teeth. The device may further comprise a gear having a plurality of teeth adapted to mesh with a plurality of teeth of the rack, and rotation of the pinion relative to the rack may move at least a portion of the piston rod along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder.
