Abstract

3,9/().The invention relates to the field of meteorology, in particular for meteorological support for takeoff and landing of aircraft, road and port services, to the field of analytical instrumentation. The objective of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determining the attenuation index of optical radiation and optical range of visibility in forward scatter meters and their operational reliability. The task is achieved by the fact that in the method for determining the optical visibility range, the sending of light radiation into the scattering volume of the medium is carried out at at least three wavelengths in two directions at an angle between them, at these wavelengths the signals passing through the total scattering volume P () and P () and scattered in it P () and P () by two receivers located opposite to their respective radiation sources, from the measured signals determine the spectral values of the scattering coefficients at an angle (,), using the established regression relations, determine the spectral values of the attenuation indicators ( ) and from the values of the attenuation indices at wavelengths corresponding to the threshold of the contrast sensitivity of the eye, the optical visibility range of MOR is determined, equal to 3.9 / ().
