Такие декорированные наночастицы меди обладают преимущественной активностью и селективностью в каталитическом гидрировании сложных эфиров оксикарбоновых кислот в гликоли.The invention relates to processes for the low-cost production of glycols from hydroxy carboxylic acid esters. Hydroxy carboxylic esters and hydrogen in the gas phase are contacted with a catalyst that contains copper hydroxysilicate or reduced copper hydroxysilicate. Reduced copper hydroxysilicate contains metallic copper nanoparticles decorated with amorphous silicon oxyhydroxide. Such decorated copper nanoparticles have a predominant activity and selectivity in the catalytic hydrogenation of hydroxy carboxylic acid esters to glycols.
