Abstract

The invention relates to x-ray technology, in particular, to x-ray identification of foreign objects and materials from which they are made, and can be used for x-ray control at checkpoints of air, sea ports and enterprises with enhanced security measures. The technical problem of the invention is the creation of a method for the identification of materials, providing, at a low dose of human exposure, the identification and evaluation of the type of material of the object and its thickness, independent of the inspector. The method includes scanning the human body with an X-ray pencil, recording amplitudes of signals from reflected and transmitted x-rays, archiving data, comparative analysis and identification of materials, in which, along with a visual assessment of the material of an object from an x-ray image, a quantitative assessment of the material of the object and its thickness using an archived database scan, for which suspicious points on the human body simultaneously calculate the value of relative th change in the signal amplitude of the reflected x-ray radiation and the magnitude of the relative change in amplitude of the signal from transmitted through the suspicious object and the X-ray human body, is carried out to compare these values with predetermined values tabulated relative changes in amplitudes of signals for different materials, the materials are identified and implemented evaluation object thickness.
