Abstract

A casing mounted in a well drilled in the bottom of a water basin is functionally connected to a chamber with adjustable buoyancy. The casing and the buoyancy controlled chamber are connected by means of a lower coupling component, while the upper coupling component connects the adjustable buoyancy chamber and the well head. The ability to adjust the buoyancy of the camera allows the operator to vary the height (depth) of the installation of the well head, as well as the vertical tension transmitted to the drill string or production string during exploration and production operations. A system and method for adjusting the height or depth of a well head while maintaining approximately constant vertical and transverse forces acting on the head are also described. Also described are various elements for wellbore overlapping, transverse stabilizers and anchors, as well as various embodiments of the invention.
