Den kan f.eks- bruges til folk med fodskader efter trafikuheld eller sportsskader. Den kunne også benyttes som en prisbillig midlertidig protese i de lande hvor der er mange ofre for landminer,hvor det ofte "kun11 er foden som bliver sprængt væk..It can be used, for example, for people with foot injuries following a traffic accident or sports injury. Jeg er bekendt med at Bandagisterne benytter et produkt som minder om mit,men som er ganske anderledes i bla. virkemåde. Bandagisternes mere simple model har blot en smal skinne som går under hælen ( se Fig. 7 ),og dertil en plast støtteplade som holder foden ( hvis der er en ) oppe. Det som nu er udført i aluminium ( se tegninger ) kan udmerket udføres i en titanlum legering eller f.eks. i tyndvægget kandtvalset rustfri stål. Jeg mener dog at have fundet de vinkler og mål,som jeg gik best med,og desuden bliver der justeringsmuligheder både i fodstykket ( se Fig 2c ) og i hælstykket C se Fig 2b ) Den nye teknik: Den nye teknik er,som før nævnt.at denne benskinne giver mulighed for almindelig .'gang, uden brug af krykstokke. Dette kan opnåes v.h.a. udformningen af bla. fodstykket,og ved at skinnen er opbygget med en betydelig matrialestyrke. Den tekniske virkning: Ben skinnen virker ved at når benet går bagud ( alm. gang ) så giver fodstykket benet en let og naturlig vægtfordeling. Og når benet går fremover,og sættes ned,så giver det forsatte hælstykke en neturlig balance og lethed i gangen ( hvis hælstykket sad længere bagude så skulle benet først have en opgående bevægelse for at komme frem i lodret stilling.. Ligeledes er skinnen ny idet at man kan spænde et læderspænde eller en kraftig elastik med indv. friktionsbelægning,fast oppe på låret og derpå fastgøre et par kraftige gummibånd eller lignende,og derfra ned til ben skinnen. Dette for at undgå at ben skinnen glider lidt ned for hver skridt.hvorefter det naturligvis glider op igen næste gang man træder ned. Denne begrænsede gliden op og ned kan ved lange gåture give skave mærker på huden under knæet. Benskinnen komplet,som Fig 1 : Pos 1, skinne som benet lægges ind i. Matriale i plast - glasfiber eller kulfibre. Skinnen udføres i f.eks. 5 standart størrelser for at kunne tilpasses ethvert ben. Skinnen påsprøjtes med et filtlag indv.,eller andet friktions matriale.
