Abstract
In the method, parameters such as density, volume flow, and/or mass of a flowing fluid, possibly containing air, such as milk, can be determined continuously. The fluid is taken through a measuring system, which comprises a density meter 15 with a radioactive source and radiation detector placed one above the other on either side of a pipe segment, through which the fluid flows, and/or through a volume flow meter 16. The density meter 15 and the volume flow meter 16 put out measurement signals which are dependent upon, respectively, the density and the volume flow to an evaluation circuit 14. In order to achieve a sufficiently precise determination of the irregularly flowing fluid, possibly containing air, it is proposed that the fluid including the entrained air be taken through the measurement system with a rotation, so that the fluid is imparted a rotation about the centre line of the flow pipe of the measuring system. The rotation is advantageously achieved by taking the fluid through a curved pipe segment 11, 12. <IMAGE>
