Abstract
Pristinamycin IIB derivatives of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R denotes a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group having 4-7 ring members which is optionally substituted by alkyl, or denotes an alkyl group having 2- 4 carbon atoms which is substituted once or twice by phenyl, cycloalkylamino or N-alkyl-N-cycloalkylamino having 3-6 ring members, alkylamino, dialkylamino or dialkylcarbamoyloxy (with it being possible for the alkyl moieties of the latter two groups, together with the nitrogen atoms to which they are bonded, to form a heterocyclic group having 4-7 ring members which is optionally substituted by alkyl) or is substituted by one or two nitrogen-containing heterocyclic groups having 4-7 ring members which is/are substituted by alkyl, with at least one of the latter substituents being a nitrogen- containing substituent which can form salts, or denotes a [1-methyl-2(S)-pyrrolidinyl]methyl group, their isomers and their salts, are prepared by using potassium monopersulphate to oxidize a prestinamycin IIB derivative of the general formula II <IMAGE> after which the compound which has been prepared is, where appropriate, separated into its isomers, the protective group, if present, is removed, and the prepared compound is, where appropriate, converted into an addition salt with an acid.
