Description
Seat furniture chassis comprising an extendable and retractable foot rest
The present invention concerns a seat furniture chassis according to the preamble of the first claim.
As seat furniture chassis are described constructions which form the framework of a seat furniture. On the seat furniture chassis are mounted upholstery and covers.
From DE 10 2009 051 576 Al is known a seat furniture chassis which has an extendable and out-pivotable foot rest. In known seat furniture chassis, conversion means are used which convert the angular momentum of a drive means into an extension movement and pivoting-out movement of the foot rest. In addition, seat furniture chassis frequently have a suspension for a seat surface support frame. As a seat surface support frame, a cushion serving as a seat surface can be mounted. The conversion means and the suspension are normally arranged in regions lying near to one another. This arrangement precludes a reduction in the size of the installation space for the retraction mechanism and extension mechanism of the foot rest. If only comparatively little installation space is to be used so that the retraction mechanism and extension mechanism can be seen only slightly or not at all in retracted state, the arrangement of the suspension precludes this goal. US 3 794 381 A a seat furniture chassis having an extendable and out-pivotable foot rest. The seat furniture chassis comprises motor-driven carriages which protrude at the front out of the seat furniture and are designed to pivot-out and extend the foot rest. DE 10 2012 105 127 Al discloses a seat furniture chassis according to the preamble of claim 1.
The task based the invention to create a seat furniture chassis in which less installation space is required for the retraction mechanism and extension mechanism of the foot rest. In addition, a seat furniture having a seat furniture chassis of this sort is to be created.
This task is solved by a seat furniture chassis according to claim 1 and by a seat furniture according to claim 14. Embodiments of the invention are given in the dependent claims.
The seat furniture chassis comprises a retractable and extendable leg and/or foot rest, a seat surface support frame, a drive means and conversion means which are configured to convert an angular momentum generated by the drive means into an extension movement and/or retraction movement of the foot rest. The seat surface support frame here frames a seat surface area. On the seat surface support frame, therefore, a cushion can be arranged which has a seat surface.
According to the invention it is provided that the conversion means comprise a shaft driveable by the drive means. This shaft is arranged parallel to a rear frame part of the seat surface support frame. By the rear frame part is here understood the part of the seat surface support frame which faces a back rest. By means of this arrangement of the shaft as component of the conversion means it is achieved that the conversion means, in the case of relatively small installation space in vertical direction do not collide with the suspension of the seat surface.
The conversion means comprise at least two gears and a first translation means. Both the two gears and the first translation means can be arranged in a first lateral edge region of the seat surface region. The lateral edge region denotes the region which is nearer to the lateral edge of the seat surface region than to the middle of the seat surface region. The seat surface region is in this regard framed by the seat surface support frame. The gears and the first translation means can be displaced downwards in particular in relation to the seat surface support frame. This arrangement is in the context of this description understood in the same way as in the lateral edge region of the seat surface region. Downwards is in this regard the direction which in the proper use of the seat furniture chassis faces a standing surface of the seat furniture.
The two gears engage in one another and a first gear of the two gears can be driven by the shaft. The second gear is designed for the drive of the first translation means. When, therefore, the drive means is activated, the shaft is set in rotation. This movement is transferred onto the first gear which sets the second gear in the same way in rotation and thus drives the first translation means.
Through the use of the two gears, the rotational movement of the shaft can be converted in a vertical direction. The second gear can in the use position of the seat furniture chassis be arranged above the shaft and the second gear. This enables that the shaft can be arranged low down such that a suspension of the seat surface is located above the shaft such that the shaft does not collide with the suspension.
By a translation means is here understood in particular a means which is designed to convert a rotational movement into a translational movement. This can in some circumstances take place in cooperation with a second translation means. The first translation means is formed as a V-belt, chain, toothed belt or threaded rod. In this case, the first translation means can be arranged parallel to a lateral frame part of the seat surface support frame. In this regard, the lateral frame part can adjoin the rear frame part and extend substantially perpendicularly to the rear frame part.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the conversion means can comprise a second translation means which is connected with the first translation means and is moved translationally at a driving of the shaft by the drive means. This can for example take place in that the second translation means is fastened on the V-belt, on the chain or on the toothed belt. In the case that the first translation means is in the form of a threaded rod, the second translation means can in the same way have a threading such that, in the case of a rotation of the threaded rod, said threading carries out a translational movement.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the first translation means can be arranged perpendicularly to the shaft and parallel to a lateral frame part of the seat surface support frame.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the seat furniture chassis can comprise a foot rest support structure for the leg and/or foot rest. The second translation means can be connected with the foot rest support structure such that a translational movement of the second translation means triggers a translational movement of the foot rest support structure. This translational movement of the foot rest support structure can also be described as a retraction movement or extension movement of the leg and/or foot rest.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the leg and/or foot rest can be designed for a pivoting movement in the case of a translational movement of the foot rest support structure. This pivoting movement can take place for example as is described in DE 10 2009 051 576 Al.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the seat furniture chassis can comprise a guide means. The second translation means can be designed to be guided by the guide means during a translational movement.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the seat furniture chassis can comprise rollers which connect the second translation means with the guide means. The guide means can be designed as a guide rail, in which the rollers are guided during a translational movement of the second translation means.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the guide means can be designed in a rear end region for a guiding of the second translation means downwards. By means of this sort of the guiding, an additional pivoting movement of the leg and/or foot rest upwards can be triggered such that the leg and/or foot rest is in retracted state even less visible for a user.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the conversion means can be designed, during an extension movement of the leg and/or foot rest to trigger a pivoting-out movement of the leg and/or foot rest and during a retraction movement of the leg and/or foot rest to trigger a pivotingin movement of the leg and/or foot rest. As already mentioned, this can for example occur in the manner described in DE 10 2009 051 576 Al.
According to an embodiment of the invention a movement of the second translation means downwards-that is in the direction of the standing surface of the seat furniture in the use positioncan to convert into a pivoting movement of the leg and/or foot rest away from the standing surface.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the conversion means can be designed to trigger the movement of the second translation means downwards at the end of a pivoting-in movement of the leg and/or foot rest. This is especially advantageous so that the conversion means require little installation space and the leg and/or foot rest in retracted state can hardly be seen.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the conversion means can comprise at least a third and a fourth of the gears and a third translation means. These components can be disposed in a second lateral edge region of the seat surface region located opposite the first lateral edge region. The third gear can be driven by the shaft. The fourth gear can engage in the third gear and be designed for the driving of the third translation means.
The conversion means in the second lateral region can be disposed in mirror-image to the conversion means in the first lateral region. It is thus possible that in both lateral regions are disposed two translation means. The functionality of the conversion means can be similar or identical in both lateral regions. By means of the disposition of the conversion means in both lateral regions, a more precise guiding of the foot rest support structure is achieved. In addition, it is especially advantageous that the conversion means in both lateral regions are driven by the same shaft. The gears in both lateral regions are therefore driven in synchrony with one another by the same shaft.
Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention become clear with the help of the following description of preferred embodiment examples with reference to the accompanying drawings. In this regard, the same reference signs are used for identical or similar components and/or components having identical or similar functions. Herein, figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a seat furniture chassis according to an embodiment of the invention having extended and pivoted-out leg and/or foot rest; figure 2 shows a schematic respective view, obliquely from below, of the seat furniture chassis from figure 1; figure 3 shows a schematic lateral perspective view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 1; figure 4 shows a schematic perspective view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 3 having partially pivoted-in and retracted leg and/or foot rest; figure 5 shows a schematic perspective view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 4 having completely pivoted-in and retracted leg and/or foot rest; figure 6 shows a schematic lateral view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 5; figure 7 shows a schematic perspective view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 1 having partially pivoted-in and retracted leg and/or foot rest; and figure 8 shows a schematic perspective view of the seat furniture chassis from figure 7 having completely pivoted-in and retracted leg and/or foot rest.
The seat furniture chassis 100 comprises a leg and/or foot rest 101 which in the context of this description for improved readability is also described as foot rest 101. The foot rest 101 is fastened to a leg and/or foot rest support structure 102. Additionally, the seat furniture chassis 100 comprises a seat surface support frame 103. This frames a seat surface region 106 and has two lateral frame parts 104, which are opposite to one another, and a rear frame part 105. The seat furniture chassis 100 can in addition comprise a back support, which is not shown in order to improve clarity.
The seat furniture chassis 100 comprises furthermore a drive means 107 which drives a shaft 108 which extends parallel to the rear frame part 105 of the seat surface support frame 103. The rotation of the shaft 108 is transmitted into two lateral edge regions of the seat surface region 106 onto a lower gear 109 which engages with an upper gear 110. This arrangement of the shaft 108 and the four gears 109 and 110 at both lateral ends of the shaft 108 facilitates a relatively low disposition of the shaft 108, such that neither the drive means 107 nor the shaft 108 collide with a suspension of the seat surface and are disposed in an especially space-saving manner. The installation-space-saving construction of the seat furniture chassis 100 is seen especially clearly from figure 6.
The rotation of the upper gear 110 is transmitted to a V-belt 111, which in the shown embodiment is used as a first translation means. A carriage 112 is connected with the V-belt 111 such that the carriage 112 is during a rotational movement of the upper gears 110 moved translationally. The carriage 112 has two wheels which are guided in a guide rail 400 during the translational movement.
It is especially advantageous that both V-belts 111 are driven on both sidesof the seat surface region 106 by the same shaft 108. As a result, the translational movement of the carriage 112 takes place evenly and synchronously on both sides.
The carriage 112 is connected with the foot rest support structure 102, such that its translational movement is converted into a translational movement of the foot rest support structure 102. This results in a retraction movement or extension movement of the foot rest 101. In this regard, during the retraction movement, the foot rest 101 is pivoted-in. During the extension movement, the foot rest 101 is pivoted-out. The pivoting-in movement and pivoting out-movement takes place in a known manner. It is for example described in DE 10 2009 051 576 Al.
The guide rail 400 has at its rear end a bend 401, which in the use position of the seat furniture chassis points downwards. This can be particularly well seen in a comparison of figures 7 and 8. At the end of the retraction movement, the rear roller of the carriage 112 travels into the bend 401 such that the carriage carries out a slightly rotational movement. This rotational movement ensures that the foot rest 101 is pivoted again additionally upwards such that the foot rest 101 in a completely pivoted-in-state (see figure 8) is accommodated in an especially spacesaving manner.
