On principle, the height of the frame part is to be equated to the length of the frame part. The longitudinal axis of the threaded rod usually corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the telescopic elements or runs parallel thereto.
[0002] The present invention furthermore relates to a frame part for a piece of furniture, in particular a height-adjustable table leg, comprising at least two rectangular telescopic elements which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, and a height-adjustment mechanism in the telescopic elements, wherein the height-adjustment mechanism comprises a threaded rod which extends in the telescopic elements, wherein the threaded rod is guided in a thread of a threaded element in a lower one of the telescopic elements, a lower end of the threaded rod is free and an upper end of the threaded rod is mounted in a bearing in a receiving element in an upper one of the telescopic elements in such a way that it can rotate about the longitudinal axis of said rod so as to project upwards out of the receiving elements.
[0003] The problem on which the present invention is based shall be described below using the example of a height-adjustable table leg or of a height-adjustable table frame, respectively. For example, a height-adjustable table leg and a height-adjust-able table frame are known from the German utility model DE 20 2012 009 673 Ul.
The known table leg has two rectangular telescopic elements which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, and a height-adjustment mechanism in the telescopic elements, wherein the height-adjustment mechanism comprises a threaded rod which extends in the telescopic elements in the longitudinal direction thereof, wherein the threaded rod is guided in a thread of a threaded element in the lower one of the two telescopic elements, a lower end of the threaded rod is free and an upper end of the threaded rod is mounted in a bearing in a receiving element in the upper one of the telescopic elements in such a way that it can rotate about the longitudinal axis of said rod so as to project upwards out of the receiving element.
[0004] Even though the known table leg and also the known table frame can already be produced in a cost-efficient manner, they should be capable of being produced in an even more cost-efficient manner.
[0005] The present invention is thus based on the object of further developing height-adjustable frame parts of the above-mentioned types in such a way that they can be produced in an even more cost-efficient manner.
[0006] According to the invention, this object is solved according to a first aspect by a height-adjustable frame part for a piece of furniture, in particular a height-adjustable table leg, comprising at least two rectangular telescopic elements which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, and a height-adjustment mechanism in the telescopic elements, wherein the height-adjustment mechanism comprises a threaded rod which extends in the telescopic elements, wherein the threaded rod is guided in a thread of a threaded element in a lower one of the telescopic elements, a lower end of the threaded rod is free and an upper end of the threaded rod is mounted in a bearing in a receiving element in an upper one of the telescopic elements in such a way that it can rotate about the longitudinal axis of said rod so as to project upwards out of the receiving elements, characterized in that the receiving element is held in the upper telescopic element in a form-fitting manner.
[0007] This object is furthermore solved according to a second aspect by means of a height-adjustable frame part for a piece of furniture, in particular a height-adjust-able table leg, comprising at least two rectangular telescopic elements which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, and a height-adjustment mechanism in the telescopic elements, wherein the height-adjustment mechanism comprises a threaded rod which extends in the telescopic elements, wherein the threaded rod is guided in a thread of a threaded element in a lower one of the telescopic elements, a lower end of the threaded rod is free and an upper end of the threaded rod is mounted in a bearing in a receiving element in an upper one of the telescopic elements in such a way that it can rotate about the longitudinal axis of said rod so as to project upwards out of the receiving elements and a lower end of the lower telescopic element is further closed by means of a closure plate, characterized in that the closure plate is held in a form-fitting manner in the lower edge of the lower telescopic element.
[0008] According to a third aspect, this object is solved by means of a height-adjust-able frame part for a piece of furniture, in particular a height-adjustable table leg, comprising at least two rectangular telescopic elements which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, and a height-adjustment mechanism in the telescopic elements, wherein the height-adjustment mechanism comprises a threaded rod which extends in the telescopic elements, wherein the threaded rod is guided in a thread of a threaded element in a lower one of the telescopic elements, a lower end of the threaded rod is free and an upper end of the threaded rod is mounted in a bearing in a receiving element in an upper one of the telescopic elements in such a way that it can rotate about the longitudinal axis of said rod so as to project upwards out of the receiving elements, characterized in that the threaded element is received in a two-part holder which is held in the lower telescopic element by a form fit.
[0009] The present invention furthermore provides a height-adjustable single- or multi-column table frame, comprising at least one frame part and a drive device, in particular an electric motor, for driving the height-adjustment mechanism of the at least one frame part.
[0010] In the case of the height-adjustable frame part according to the first aspect, it can be provided that the receiving element is held in the upper edge of the upper telescopic element in a form-fitting manner.
[0011] It can in particular be provided thereby that the receiving element has a receiving plate with at least one lug which projects laterally, preferably in the plane of the receiving plate, and the upper edge of the upper telescopic element has a cutout for receiving the at least one lug in a form-fitting manner.
[0012] Favourably, the receiving element has, on two opposite sides of the receiving plate, a respective leg which extends substantially at a right angle from the receiving plate and which has in each case at least one opening into which a respective tab in an associated side wall of the upper telescopic element is bent over in a form-fitting manner. By bending over the tabs, the receiving element is additionally held in a form-fitting manner. It can in particular be clamped.
[0013] Advantageously, the bearing is held in the receiving element by means of a bearing holder suspended in the receiving element.
[0014] According to a further special embodiment of the present invention, a lower end of the lower telescopic element is closed by means of a closure plate, and the closure plate is held in a form-fitting manner in the lower end of the lower telescopic element.
[0015] In the case of the frame part according to the second aspect of the present invention, it can be provided that the closure plate is held in a form-fitting manner in the lower edge of the lower telescopic element.
[0016] It can in particular be provided thereby that the closure plate has at least one lug which projects laterally, preferably in the plane of the closure plate, and the lower edge of the lower telescopic element has a cutout for receiving the at least one lug in a form-fitting manner.
[0017] Advantageously, the lower side of the closure plate is held by at least one tab which is bent over inwardly substantially at a right angle to a side wall of the lower telescopic element.
[0018] According to a further special embodiment of the present invention, the threaded element is received in a two-part holder which is held in the upper telescopic element by a form fit.
[0019] In the case of the frame part according to the third aspect of the present invention, it can be provided that the two parts of the holder are connected by a plug connection.

[0021] It is furthermore advantageously provided in the case of the multi-column table frame that the at least one frame part is constituted by two table legs, and the multi-column table frame has an, in particular horizontal, crossmember supported on the two table legs and consisting of a, preferably rectangular, hollow profile, and has at least one tabletop carrier for a tabletop, which carrier is fastened on top of or on the crossmember or formed in one piece therewith.
[0022] Finally, the drive devices for the two table legs are favourably arranged in the crossmember.
[0023] The present invention is based on the surprising recognition that height-ad-justable frame parts can be produced more cost-efficiently by at least partially forgoing joining techniques, such as, e.g. welding, and instead using e.g. forming techniques. It goes without saying that this also becomes noticeable in the price for height-adjustable single- or multi-column table frames. The frame parts can additionally also be assembled more easily.
[0024] Further features and advantages follow from the enclosed claims and from the description below, in which a plurality of exemplary embodiments is described in detail by using the schematic drawings.

Figure 14 shows the lower end of the lower telescopic element with completely assembled closure plate; and
Figure 15 shows the assembly of a table foot on the lower side of the lower telescopic element.
[0025] Figure 1 shows a side of a table frame 10, more accurately of a multi-column table frame comprising two height-adjustable columns or table legs, respectively, one of which can be seen in Figure 1 and is provided with reference numeral 12. The table frame 10 further has a horizontal crossmember 14 of a rectangular box profile of metal which is supported on its two ends by a respective table leg, only the table leg 12 of which can be seen. On the lower side of the table leg 12, a table foot 16 extends at a right angle to the longitudinal direction of the table leg 12. The table foot 16, also referred to as base, is fastened to the table leg 12 by means of a pressure plate 20 which can be inserted through of a lower opening 18 (see Figure 15), which is centrally arranged in the longitudinal direction of the table foot 16, via two screws 22 which are screwed into two corresponding threaded bores 24 in a lower closure plate 26 on the lower front side of the table leg 12.
[0026] As follows from using Figures 2 to 4, 11 and 12, a height- or length-adjustment mechanism, respectively, comprising a threaded rod (spindle) 28, from which an upper end 30 projects upwards on the upper side of the table leg 12, is located in the table leg 12. In the assembled state, the upper end 30 projects through an opening (not shown) in the lower side on a respective end of the crossmember 14 into same, in order to engage with a respective electric motor 32 arranged therein, and in order to be driven so as to be controlled by the respective electric motor by means of a motor control (not shown). The motor control can also be arranged in the crossmember 14, for example in the centre in the longitudinal direction of the crossmember.
[0027] As follows for example in combination with Figures 2 to 7 and 12, the longitudinal ends of the crossmember 14, only one of which can be seen here and is identified with reference numeral 34, is not connected so as to abut on the table leg 12, but they are inserted into the upper end 35 of the table leg 12. More precisely, the table leg 12 has two rectangular telescopic elements 36 and 38 which can slide axially one inside the other in a telescopic manner, comprising a rectangular cross sectional profile, and two opposite side walls 42 and 44, which are longer in the present example, are cut out in the case of the upper telescopic element 36 on the upper end 40, in which the lower telescopic element 38 is displaceably arranged, so that the two side walls 46 and 48 which are arranged at a right angle thereto, project upwards with respect to the side walls 42 and 44, and the crossmember 14 is received and held between the two side walls 46 and 48 due to its smaller transverse dimensions. In the side walls 46 and 48 which are cut in a ramp-like manner, two through bores 50 and 52 are located for two screws 54 which can be screwed into two corresponding threaded bores 56 and 58 in the two side walls 60 and 62 of the crossmember 14, in order to be able to connect the upper end 40 of the upper telescopic element 36 and thus the table leg 12 to the crossmember 14.
[0028] A tabletop carrier 64 for a tabletop (not shown) is also shown in Figure 1, which can also be fastened to the longitudinal end 34 of the crossmember 14 via the screws 54.
[0029] Figures 9 to 11 show the arrangement and guiding of the threaded rod 28 in the lower telescopic element 38. A two-part holder 66 is provided for this purpose, the two parts 66a and 66b of which can be assembled by inclusion or encapsulation, respectively, of a threaded element 68 with a corresponding internal thread which, on principle, has the function of a spindle nut. In the assembled state, the holder 66 is inserted into the upper end 70 of the lower telescopic element 38 and is fixed by means of two tabs 76 and 78 embodied in two opposite side walls 72 and 74 of the lower telescopic element 38, by bending over said tabs inward and in corresponding cutouts, only one of which can be seen and is identified with reference numeral 80. The threaded rod can then advantageously be guided into the lower telescopic element 38 from below and can be guided out upwards with its upper end 30 in and through the threaded element 68 by rotating the threaded rod 28.
[0030] As shown in Figure 12, the lower telescopic element 38 is then inserted from below into the upper telescopic element 36 and is pushed upwards, until the upper end of the threaded rod 28 is guided through a bearing 84. The bearing 84 can be a radial bearing.
[0031] Figures 3 and 4 show the threaded rod 28 in a state, in which its lower end 86, which is located in the lower telescopic element 38, the upper end 30 of the threaded rod 28 is rotatably supported in the bearing 84 and the threaded rod 28 is guided therebetween in the threaded element 68 - in this example extending in the longitudinal direction of the table leg 12. The threaded element 68 is arranged so as to be stationary in the lower telescopic element 38.
[0032] Figures 5 to 8 now show, how the bearing 84 is fastened in the upper telescopic element 36. For this purpose, a receiving plate 88 is initially inserted from the top into the upper end of the upper telescopic element 36 from the top with lugs 96 and 98 projecting laterally on two opposite side edges 90 and 92 and with legs 100 and 102 extending upwards at a right angle on the two other side edges in such a way that the lugs 96 and 98 sit in a form-fitting manner in corresponding cutouts 104 and 106 in the upper edge 108 of the upper telescopic element 36. In addition, the legs 100 and 102 are then arranged parallel to the legs 46 and 48 and so as to abut thereon from the inside. A tab 110 bent inwards into a corresponding opening 112 in the legs 100 and 102 is in each case embodied in the legs 46 and 48 of the upper telescopic element 36, so as to thus hold and to clamp the receiving plate 88 in the upper edge 108 of the upper telescopic element 36 in a form-fitting manner.
[0033] In this example, the receiving plate 88 has a central opening 114 for guiding through the upper end 30 of the threaded rod 28. It furthermore has four openings 116 which are arranged circumferentially around the opening 114 at a distance of 90° relative to one another for suspending a bearing holder 118 for the bearing 84. For this purpose, the bearing holder 118 has four elastic hooks 120 which are pretensioned outwardly. After arranging the bearing 84 in a bearing receptacle 122 which is circular in this case in the bearing holder 118, the bearing 84 can thus be suspended from below in the receiving plate 88 and, as is shown in Figure 12, the upper end 30 of the threaded rod 28 which is guided in the lower telescopic element 38 can then be guided upwards through the bearing 84 and can be secured by means of a washer 124 and a securing ring 126.
[0034] It is also shown in Figures 13 and 14, how the closure plate 26 is fastened or secured, respectively, in the lower end of the lower telescopic element 38. For this purpose, the closure plate 26 has, on two opposite side edges 128 and 130, two lugs 134 and 136 each, which are arranged at a distance to one another and projecting laterally. The lower edge 138 of the lower telescopic element 38 has corresponding cutouts 140 and 142 for receiving the lugs 134 and 136 in a form-fitting manner. In addition, a tab 144 projects downwards in each case between two cutouts 140 or 142, respectively. When the closure plate 26 has been placed with its lugs 134 and 136 into the cutouts 140 and 142, the closure plate 26 is additionally held in a formfitting manner by bending the tabs 144 inwards or over, respectively, in the lower end of the lower telescopic element 38.
[0035] Even if in the preceding description of the upper telescoping element is the outer telescoping element and the lower telescoping element is the inner telescoping element the inner telescoping element, the arrangement can on principle be reversed as well.
[0036] The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the drawings as well as in the claims, both alone and in the arbitrary combinations, can be essential for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments.
