Description

The present invention relates to a post having at least one shaft-like post element and having at least one base plate arranged at the post element, wherein one or more reinforcement elements are located between the post element and the base plate.
Such a post is known from the prior art and is shown in Figure 2.
As can be seen from Figure 2, the post in accordance with the prior art comprises the actual post element 10 and a base plate 20 which is fixed to the post element. As can further be seen from Figure 2, a plurality of reinforcement elements 30 in the form of gusset plates extend between the post element 10 and the base plate 20 and have the object of stabilising the post element or of ensuring a better force transmission into the base plate.
Figure 2 shows the known arrangement in a perspective view in the upper representation and in a sectional view in the lower representation.
As can further be seen from Figure 2, the reinforcement elements, which are configured in plate form, extend perpendicular from the surface of the post element, i.e. the project from it in a perpendicular direction. In the case of a cylindrical post element, the reinforcement elements thus extend radially. This arrangement admittedly ensures a good stability of the post element and a favourable introduction of force, but brings about the disadvantage that the correspondingly projecting reinforcement elements can result in injuries to the claws or hooves of animals. In addition, dirt can increasingly collect in the connection region between the post element and the base plate, which can result in increased corrosion. Document US2010/281791 discloses a post having the features of claim 1.
It is thus the underlying object of the present invention to further develop a post of the initially named kind such that the risk of injury for animals is reduced with respect to the known embodiment.
This object is satisfied by a post having the features of claim 1. Provision is accordingly made that the at least one reinforcement element does not extend perpendicular from the surface of the post element, but rather at an angle relative to the perpendicular. Provision is thus accordingly made that the main direction of extent of the reinforcement element thus does not extend perpendicular from the surface of the post element at which it is arranged. Provision is thus made in the case of a post element circular in cross-section that the reinforcement element or elements do not extend radially therefrom, but rather tangentially, a least in regions, for example.
The present invention is, however, not restricted to circular post elements, but rather covers all cross-sectional shapes of the post elements. What is important is that the direction of extent of the reinforcement element or elements does not run perpendicular to the surface of the post element, but at an angle differing therefrom and preferably in parallel with the surface of the post element.
In the case of an areal or plate-like reinforcement element, this means that the plane formed by the reinforcement element is not perpendicular to the surface of the post element.
It is conceivable that the reinforcement element is of a plate-like design and that the plate is arranged such that the plane formed by the reinforcement element does not extend perpendicular to the surface of the post element. It is thereby ensured that the reinforcement element represents less of a risk of injury. Apart from this, it is possible to arrange the reinforcement element such that it at least partly covers the transition region or connection region between the post element and the base plate so that this connection region is protected better from external influences and thus also from corrosion than in the embodiment from the prior art visible from Figure 2.
Provision is made in a preferred embodiment of the invention that at least one edge of the reinforcement element extends in parallel with the surface of the post element or lies against it. It is thus conceivable to form the reinforcement element as two-dimensional or as a plate-shaped structure and to arrange it such that at least one edge of this reinforcement element follows the surface of the post element or lies against it. An embodiment is, for example, possible in which the reinforcement element of a two-dimensional or plate-shaped design extends at an inclination with respect to the post element and lies against it with an edge or with a marginal region. This embodiment can naturally also apply to reinforcement elements not of a two-dimensional form. It is thus also conceivable, for example, to design the reinforcement element as a block from which at least one edge extends along the surface of the post element or lies against it.
Provision is made in a further embodiment of the invention that the reinforcement element is curved at least regionally, with the concave side of the curved reinforcement element facing the post element. It is thus possible, for example, that, in the case of a post element having a curved surface such as a post element with a circular cross-section, the reinforcement element follows the surface of the post element, i.e. is arranged substantially in parallel therewith, in at least one edge region.
The reinforcement element can generally extend obliquely relative to the longitudinal axis of the post element.
Provision is made in accordance with the invention that the reinforcement element is welded to the post element and/or to the base element. It is, for example, conceivable to provide a weld seam peripherally about the end region of the post element, by means of which weld seam the post element is connected to the base plate. Provision is preferably made that one end region of the post element stands on the base plate and the other end region runs out freely.
Provision can furthermore be made that the reinforcement element is designed as a component running completely around the post element. A dish-shaped or ring-shaped design of the reinforcement element is thus conceivable, with this dish-shaped design preferably having a central cut-out at its centre through which the post element extends. The post element can be connected or welded to the region bounding the cut-out in this region. The reinforcement element can contact the surface of the post element in the marginal region of this cut-out. Such a dish-shaped design brings about the advantage that the reinforcement element extends umbrella-like over the connection region between the post element and the base plate so that the corresponding connection point or weld seam is protected particularly well. It is a further advantage that there are no projecting edges at all so that the risk of injury is minimized. The other marginal region of the reinforcement element can be welded to the base plate.
It is conceivable that the reinforcement element is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the post element. The reinforcement element can thus be "leant" against the post element.
Provision is preferably made that the post element extends perpendicular to the base plate.
The post element and the base plate as well as the reinforcement elements can be produced from the same material or also from different materials.
It is conceivable in order to ensure a particularly good protection of the reinforcement region between the base plate and the post element that the reinforcement element covers the connection region completely or regionally. A partial covering of this connection region is also covered by the invention.
The reinforcement element can be designed as an element which tapers conically at least regionally and which extends over the whole periphery or in at least a partial region around the post element. Provision can furthermore be made that the reinforcement element is smooth at its side remote from the post element to minimize the risk of injury.
The present invention furthermore relates to a fence or to a separating element, in particular to a use in a stable, wherein the fence or the separating element has one or more of the posts in accordance with the invention. Barrier means in the form of bars, bands, etc. extend between the posts to achieve a boundary or an enclosure.
Further details and advantages of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. There are shown:
Figure 1: a perspective view and a sectional view through a post in accordance with the invention in a first embodiment; and
Figure 2: a perspective view and a sectional view through a post in accordance with the prior art.
Figure 1 shows by reference numeral 10 the post element which extends from the base plate 20. As also in the embodiment in accordance with Figure 2, one or more bores or recesses 22 are located in the base plate 20 and screws or other fastening means can extend through them to be able to fasten the post in its entirety to a foundation.
As can further be seen from Figure 1, the reinforcement element 40 extends between the post element 10 and the base plate 20 and is designed in the embodiment shown here in the form of a recessed dish. The reinforcement element 40 has a flange-like margin 42 at which it lies on the base plate 20 and has a conically tapering region 44 which extends therefrom and which has or surrounds a central recess 48 through which the post element 10 extends.
The surface of the reinforcement element 40 thus essentially follows the surface of the post element 10. In the embodiment shown here, the post element 10 and the reinforcement element 40 are concentric. The reinforcement element 40 is preferably welded both to the post element 10 and to the base plate 20 and does not only serve a better introduction of force from the post element 10 into the base plate 20, but also the protection of the connection point V between the post element 10 and the base plate 20.
As can be seen from the sectional representation in accordance with Figure 1, the angle of inclination of the conical region 44 of the reinforcement element 40 amounts to approximately 60°. Designs deviating therefrom are generally also conceivable.
As can further be seen from the sectional representation in accordance with Figure 1, the conical section 44 merges into a horizontal section 46 which bounds the recess through which the post element 10 extends.
The present invention is not restricted to post elements having a round cross-section. An angled design is also covered by the invention.
