Description
Lift fitting for parallel lifting of a table top
The invention relates to a lift fitting for parallel lifting of table tops, storage surfaces, e.g. of coffee tables or the like, relative to a furniture body, comprising a mounting flange on the table top side and a mounting flange on the body side, which are connected to each other via two parallelogram guide which can be lifted in the operating position of the fitting from a lower parallelogram position to abutment at an end stop into a laterally offset upper parallelogram position, and comprising a locking lever which locks one of the parallelogram guides in the upper parallelogram position. A lift fitting of this type is disclosed e.g. by the fitting “Tavoflex” of the applicant. This known fitting is used to lift and swivel forward table tops and storage surfaces, e.g. of coffee tables. US 5 549 052 A furthermore discloses a lift fitting for parallel lifting of a table top relative to a furniture body. The lift fitting comprises a mounting flange on the table top side and a mounting flange on the furniture body side, which are connected to one another via two parallelogram guides which can be lifted in the operating position of the fitting from a lower parallelogram position to abutment at an end stop pin into a laterally offset upper parallelogram position.
It is the object of the invention to further improve such a lift fitting, in particular with respect to stability in the lowered lower parallelogram position, the locking mechanism and the adjustment to the respective weight of the table top.
This object is achieved in accordance with the invention in that for stabilizing the lower parallelogram position, a stabilization lever arm is provided which is hinged to the mounting flange on the table top side and to the mounting flange on the furniture body side.
In accordance with the invention, the stabilization lever arm is used to stabilize the kinematics in the lowered lower parallelogram position close to the lower parallelogram dead point.
In a preferred embodiment, the mounting flange on the table top side or the locking lever has a permanent magnet which acts between the mounting flange on the table top side and the locking lever and which, in the upper parallelogram position, retains the locking lever, which has been lifted manually from its locking position into a release position, in the release position. The locking lever automatically locks the fitting in the lifted state. For unlocking the fitting, the locking lever must be lifted until it is attracted and retained by the permanent magnet. For this reason, the unlocking action is maintained until the table top is lowered such that the operating sequences can be separated in terms of time. During closing, the locking lever is released again from the permanent magnet by a projection of the mounting flange on the table top side such that it locks the fitting again during renewed lifting.
In another preferred embodiment, a spring device is hinged to the mounting flange on the body side and also to one of the two parallelogram guides for supporting lifting of the two parallelogram guides into the upper parallelogram position, wherein the end of the spring device hinged to the mounting flange on the body side is displaceably guided and can be fixed in a vertical guide of the mounting flange on the body side e.g. via a lever mechanism. The adjustment of the spring support may be realized in an advantageous fashion via a spindle which can be operated from above and serves to change a lever arm that acts on the spring device, thereby adjusting the fitting to the respective weight of the table top.
Further advantages and advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of the invention can be extracted from the description, the claims and the drawing. The features mentioned above and below may be used in accordance with the invention either individually or collectively in arbitrary combinations.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to two embodiments illustrated in the drawing. The embodiments shown and described are not to be understood as exhaustive enumeration but rather have exemplary character for describing the invention.

Fig. 5 shows a detailed view of the locking lever located in the release position;
Figs. 6a, 6b show a side view of the lift fitting in the lifted position shown in Fig. 3b, wherein a gas spring that supports the lifting motion of the fitting is adjustably guided in a vertical guide of a mounting flange on the body side between a lower position (Fig. 6a) and an upper position (Fig. 6b); and
Fig. 7 shows a detailed view of a lever mechanism shown in Fig. 6 for adjusting the spring force of the gas spring.
The piece of furniture 1 shown in Figs. 1 a, 1 b has a furniture body 2 which is open to the top and a table top 3 which can be lifted in parallel by means of two lift fittings 10 from a lower table position (Fig. 1a) supported on the furniture body 2 into a laterally offset upper table position (Fig. 1b). In the sectional view shown in Figs. 1a, 1b, only one of the two fittings 10 is illustrated.
As is shown in Fig. 2, the lift fitting 10 comprises a mounting flange 11 on the table top side to be screwed to the table top 3 and a mounting flange 12 on the body side to be screwed to the furniture body 2, which are connected to each other via two parallelogram guides 13, 14 which are lifted from a lower parallelogram position into the laterally offset upper parallelogram position shown in Fig. 2 to the vicinity of the upper dead point of the parallelogram 15 spanned by the two parallelogram guides 13, 14 (i.e. to the vicinity of the perpendicular parallelogram position). The bearing points of the two parallelogram guides 13, 14 at the two mounting flanges 11, 12 are designated by 13a, 13b and 14a, 14b.
The upper parallelogram position is defined through abutment of the parallelogram guide 13 at an end stop 16 of the mounting flange 12 on the body side and is located approximately 5° in front of the upper parallelogram dead point. This upper parallelogram position is secured by a locking lever 17 which is mounted so as to be suspended at 17a to the mounting flange 11 on the table top side. When lifting (direction of arrow 18) the two parallelogram guides 13,14 from the lower into the upper parallelogram position, the locking lever 17 slides on top of the parallelogram guide 13 on the right-hand side in Fig. 2 until it falls in the upper parallelogram position behind the right-hand parallelogram guide 13 and engages behind an undercut 19 of the right-hand parallelogram guide 13, whereby the right-hand parallelogram guide 13 is secured against the lifting direction 18. A gas spring 20 is hinged to the mounting flange 12 on the body side and also to the right-hand parallelogram guide 13 in order to support lifting of the two parallelogram guides 13, 14 into the upper parallelogram position.
For reinforcement of the lower parallelogram position close to the dead point, a stabilization lever arm 21 is furthermore provided which is hinged both to the mounting flange 12 on the body side at 21 a and also at 21 b to a guide 22 which is mounted in a non-rotatable manner to the mounting flange 11 on the table top side and projects in a downward direction. The guide 22 is designed as an angular arm, one angle leg 23a of which is non-rotatably mounted to the mounting flange 11 on the table top side at two locations, in particular at the two bearing points 13a, 14b of the two parallelogram guides 13, 14, and the other angle leg 23b of which projects in a downward direction. The stabilization lever arm 21 is formed to be offset or S-shaped between its two bearing points 21a, 21 b and is therefore in the upper parallelogram position outside of the parallelogram 15. The guide 22 which projects in a downward direction permits to avoid a dead point of the lever arm 21 which would otherwise exist. Due to the horizontal arrangement of the pivot points 13a, 13b and 14a, 14b of the parallelogram 15 in connection with the required adjustment angle, the kinematics almost reaches the lower parallelogram dead point during pivoting, as a consequence of which the reinforcing stabilization lever arm 21 is required.
For lowering the table top 3 from the locked upper table position into the lower table position, the locking levers 17 of the two lift fittings 10 are manually lifted from the locking position and retained in the lifted position until the table top 3 starts to lower due to its own weight. Dampened by the gas spring 20, the table top 3 is then lowered to its lower table position.
As is also illustrated in Fig. 1 b, the right-hand parallelogram guides 13 of the two fittings 10 are connected to one another via a transverse bar 24 in order to pivot the two fittings 10 synchronously with respect to one another.
Figs. 3a, 3b show another piece of furniture 101 with a furniture body 102 that opens to the top and a table top 103 which has a greater weight than the table top 3 and which can be lifted in parallel by means of two lift fittings 110 from a lower table position (Fig. 3a) supported on the furniture body 102 into a laterally offset upper table position (Fig. 3b). In the sectional view illustrated in Figs. 3a, 3b, only one of the two fittings 110 is illustrated.
As is shown in Figs. 4a, 4b, the lift fitting 110 comprises a mounting flange 111 on the table top side for screwing to the table top 103 and a mounting flange 112 on the body side for screwing to the furniture body 102, which are connected to each other via two parallelogram guides 113, 114 which are lifted perpendicularly from a lower parallelogram position to the laterally offset upper parallelogram position shown in Figs. 4a, 4b. The parallelogram spanned by the two parallelogram guides 113, 114 is designated in Fig. 4a by 115. The bearing points of the two parallelogram guides 113, 114 at the two mounting flanges 111, 112 are designated by 113a, 113b and 114a, 114b. The pivot points 113a, 114a and 113b, 114b of the parallelogram 115 are each offset from one another in the heights such that during pivoting the lower parallelogram dead point is not reached and the fitting 110 therefore does not require any additional reinforcement.
The perpendicular upper parallelogram position is defined by the abutment of the parallelogram guide 114 on the right-hand side in Fig. 4 at an end stop 116 of the mounting flange 112 on the body side and secured by a locking lever 117 which is supported in a suspended manner at 117a at the mounting flange 111 on the table top side. During lifting (direction of arrow 118) of the two parallelogram guides 113, 114 from the lower into the upper parallelogram position, the locking lever 117 slides along a projection 130 of the parallelogram guide 113 on the left-hand side in Fig. 4 until a stop surface 119 thereof abuts the projection 130 in the upper parallelogram position, whereby the left-hand parallelogram guide 113 is secured opposite to the lifting direction 118. A gas spring 120 is hinged to the mounting flange 112 on the body side and also to the left-hand parallelogram guide 113 in order to support lifting of the two parallelogram guides 113, 114 into the upper parallelogram position.
For lowering the table top 103 from the locked upper table position into the lower table position, the locking levers 117 of the two lift fittings 110 are manually lifted from the locking position until a stop 131 of the locking lever 117 is attracted by a permanent magnet 132 of the mounting flange 111 on the table top side and is retained in abutment therewith. For this reason, unlocking is maintained until the table top 103 is lowered and the operating sequences can be performed at different times. The table top 3 then starts to be lowered into its lower table position under its own weight and dampened by the gas spring 120.
As is shown in Fig. 5, the mounting flange 111 on the table top side is provided with a projection 133 which is e.g. formed to be bent out like a lug, or a bolt which deflects the locking lever 117 in a downward direction relative to the mounting flange 111 on the table top side from the upper parallelogram position when the two parallelogram guides 113, 114 are lowered. For this reason, the locking lever 117 is released from the permanent magnet 132 and slides again on the projection 130 in order to lock again the left-hand parallelogram guide 113 during a new lifting motion.
For adjusting different levels of support of the gas spring, the lower end of the gas spring 120 hinged to the mounting flange 112 on the body side is guided in a displaceable manner in a vertical guide 140 of the mounting flange 112 on the body side between a lower end position (Fig. 6a) and an upper end position (Fig. 6b) and can be adjusted at the respective height by means of a lever arm 141 which is pivotably mounted at 141 a to the mounting flange 112 on the body side and can be adjusted in its pivot position by means of a spindle 142. To be more precise, the lower end of the gas spring 120 is mounted in an elongated hole 143 of the lever arm 141 which extends in a transverse direction with respect to the vertical guide 140. The spring force of the gas spring 120 is adjusted via a change in the effective lever length of the lever arm 141 by means of the spindle 142 which can be operated from above by means of a tool in order to adjust the gas spring 120 to the respective weight of the table top.
