PAPER TOWEL HOLDER
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention disclosed herein generally relates to a holder for holding a roll of paper sheets. More particularly, the present invention relates to a holder for holding and dispensing a roll of paper sheets such as paper towel rolls, thereby avoiding the paper towels from flying away during use.
BACKGROUND A paper towel is a kind of absorbent towel, which is widely used in many household applications. The paper towel has similar purposes to conventional towels, such as drying hands, wiping windows and other surfaces, dusting and cleaning up spills, etc. The paper towel is defined in a continuous roll of perforated sheets for use in an apparatus. The apparatus could be placed anywhere in the house especially in the kitchen and bathroom for holding and dispensing the paper towel. Further, the apparatus could often be used in many convenient locations, such as public restrooms for dispensing to users.
There are several types of dispensing apparatuses available such as vertical mount apparatus and horizontal mount apparatus, thereby enabling the apparatus to securely support the paper towel rolls. These apparatuses are designed to reduce the amount of excess paper unwound from the paper roll. The vertical mount apparatus is configured to mount vertically on a flat or horizontal surface, for example, a floor surface of a kitchen. The horizontal mount apparatus is configured to mount horizontally on a vertical surface, for example, a wall surface of a kitchen. However, many households would not prefer to mount the apparatus permanently on the floor or wall. Further, these permanently mounted apparatuses restrict the paper towels to be moved from one place to another place.
DK 2020 00179 A1 2 In addition, free-standing type of apparatus is used for dispensing paper towels.
In this type, the force exerted to tear the paper towel could tip the entire apparatus.
Also, the apparatus becomes cumbersome and unsteady while removing the paper towel from the roll having decreased diameter.
Further, such tipping could be an annoyance and inconvenience to the users.
In the light of above-mentioned problems, it is desirable to provide an improved and efficient paper towel holding device for holding the paper towel, thereby preventing the paper towel from flying away during use.

. DK 2020 00179 A1
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Referring to FIG. 1, a perspective view of a paper towel holder 100 is disclosed, according to an embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, the paper towel holder 100 is configured to hold a paper towel roll or paper towel 122 in place by preventing them from flying away during use. In one embodiment, the paper towel holder 100 comprises a base 102, a towel support rod or pole 104 extending from the base 102, and a vertical mounting section 110. In one embodiment, the base 102 has an upper surface and a lower surface configured to mount on a vertical or horizontal surface. In one embodiment, the base 102 is configured to vertically mount on a horizontal surface. In one embodiment, the base 102 could have a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the paper towel roll 122 to held by the paper towel holder 100. The base 102 is made from at least any one of a material including, but not limited to, wood, steel, plastic, metal, or other suitable durable materials.
In one embodiment, the towel support rod 104 is perpendicularly extending from the center of the base 102. In one embodiment, the towel support rod 104 could be molded to the base 102. In another embodiment, the towel support rod 104 could be attached to the base 102 via fasteners such as screws, nuts, nuts, and bolts. In one embodiment, the towel support rod 104 comprises a proximal end 106 and a distal end
108. In one embodiment, the proximal end 106 is attached to the base 102 and the distal end 108 extends upward from the base 102. The towel support rod 104 could have any one of a structure including, but not limited to, cylindrical, flat, solid, or hollow structure. In one embodiment, the towel support rod 104 has a diameter smaller than a diameter of — the inner core of the paper towel roll 122 to receive the paper towel roll 122, thereby enabling the paper towel roll 122 to rotate freely about the towel support rod 104 without any free rotation between the inner core of the paper towel roll 122 and the towel support rod 104. In some embodiments, the towel support rod 104 is made from at least any one of a material including, but not limited to, wood, steel, plastic, metal, or other suitable durable materials.
, DK 2020 00179 A1 Still referring to FIG. 1, the vertical mounting section 110 hangs on the paper towel holder 100 to prevent the paper towel 122 from flying away during use. In one embodiment, the vertical mounting section 110 has a first end or upper end 112 and a second end or lower end 114. In one embodiment, the vertical mounting section 110 extends downwards from the distal end 108 of the towel support rod 104, thereby holding the paper towel roll 122 from flying away during use. In one embodiment, the vertical mounting section 110 extends downwards on the outside of the paper towel roll 122. In one embodiment, the vertical mounting section 110 is a silicone rubber device. In some embodiments, the vertical mounting section 110 is made from at least any one of a material including, but not limited to, wood, steel, plastic, metal, or other suitable durable materials. In some embodiments, the vertical mounting section 110 comprises at least any one of a shape includes a cylindrical, rectangular or any other suitable shape.
The vertical mounting section 110 comprises a ring or disc 116 and a weight unit
120. In one embodiment, the ring 116 is connected to the first end 112 and the weight unit 120 is embedded to the second end 114. In one embodiment, the ring 116 has an arm 118 extends outwards from the outer periphery of the ring 116. The arm 118 is configured to connect the ring 116 with the first end 112 of the vertical mounting section
110. In one embodiment, the arm 118 is hingedly connected to the first end 112 of the vertical mounting section 110. In one embodiment, the ring 116 is configured to reduce friction between the towel support rod 104 and the vertical mounting section 110, thereby enabling easy pulling of the paper towel roll 122. In one embodiment, the ring 116 is a hard-plastic ring. In some embodiments, the ring 116 is made from at least any one of a material including, but not limited to, steel, plastic, metal, or other suitable durable materials.
The weight unit 120 embedded at the second end 114 of the vertical mounting section 110 is configured to create friction between the paper towel roll 122 and the vertical mounting section 110, thereby holding the paper towel roll 122 in place. In one
2 DK 2020 00179 A1 embodiment, the weight unit 120 provides adequate stability to the vertical mounting section 110. In one embodiment, the weight unit 120 is configured to maintain the stability of the vertical mounting section 110 and to resist the unintentional tripping of the vertical mounting section 110. The weight unit 120 could be made from any of a material having sufficient weight to hold the vertical mounting section 110 in place while pulling the paper towel roll 122. In some embodiments, the weight unit 120 could be made of iron, plastic or other strong and durable material.
Advantageously, the paper towel holder provides an improved solution for the undesirable excessive unraveling of the paper towel roll especially in a work environment such as a kitchen. Also, the paper towel holder allows one hand use without tripping the upright paper towel holder when the other hand of a user occupied with any other work. In addition, the paper towel holder avoids the paper towel roll from flying away during outdoor use. Further, the paper towel holder enables easy mounting and removal of paper — towel rolls.
