Abstract

The present invention relates to an expandable shaft (1) for insertion into a core, the cx pandable shaft have a longitudinal extension and comprising: - a profile (4), which extends in the longitudinal direetion of the shaft, the profile tom prising a plurality of longitudinal grooves; - infiatable and expandab chambers which are adapted to be arranged in the grooves; - gripping means (3) which are arranged in connection to the expandab chamber, the gripping means being adapted to radial movement between a first position and a sec- ond position in view of an expansion of the infiatable and expandable chamber so that the gripping means (3) are movable in a radial direction between a first position and a second position depending on an expansion of the expandable chamber wherein - an outer cylindrical tube is arranged outside the profile (4), the outer cylindrical tube comprising a plurality ofopenings, and wherein the gripping means (3) are aligned with the openings of the tube so that the gripping means can project through and be yond the tube in a radial direetion of the shaft during the expansion of the expand able chamber.

Claims (10)

  1. !, An expandable shall. (!) for insertion into a core» the expandable shaft having a longitndlnsd extension and comprising: - a profile (4), which extends in the longitudinal direction of the shaft, the profile comprising a plurality of longitudinal grooves (9): - inflatable and expandable chambers (?) which are adapted to be arranged in the grooves (9); gripping means (3) which are arranged in connection to chamber (7), the gripping means being adapted to radial movement between a first position and a second position in view of an expansion of the inflatable and expandable chamber so that the gripping means (3) are movable in a radial dtrectsou between a first position and a second position depending on an. expansion of the expandable chamber (?) wherein - an outer cylindrical tube (2) is arranged outside the profile (4), the outer cylindrical tube comprising a plurality of openings, and wherein the gripping means (3) are aligned with the openings of the tube so that the gripping means can project through and beyond the tube in a radial direction of the shaft during the expansion of the expandable chamber.
  2. 2. A shaft. (1) according to claim 1, wherein, the profile comprises at least three kai-giiadina! grooves (9).,
  3. 3. A shaft (1) according to claim 2, wherein the profile comprises three or six longitudinal grooves (9), the grooves preferably being arranged with an angle of 1203 or 60°, respectively, between them.
  4. 4, A. shaft (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the pipping means (3) extend la the longitudinal direction of the shaft,
  5. 5, A shaft (1) acco rding to any one of the claims I-3> wherein the gripping means (3) extend in a tangential direction of the shaft.
  6. 6. A shaft (1) according to am·' one of the preceding claims, wherein a rail (61 is arranged in the groove (?) between the expandable chamber (7) and the gripping means <3).
  7. 7. A shaft (1) according to claim 6, wherein the gripping means (3) are connected to the rail (6), g. A shaft (I) according to claim 6 or 7, wherein one or more elastic or spring member ($) are arranged in connection with the mils, fire elastic or spring member being adapted to force foe rail into foe groove when the chamber is deflated
  8. 9, A shaft (1) according to claim S3 wherein the member (S) is a spring, an elastic, bending, an O-ring, a robber band or the like.
  9. 10. A shaft (1) according to any one of foe preceding claims, wherein the profile (4) is di vided into a plurality of modules, 1L A shaft (1) according ίο claim 10, wherein the gripping means (3) extend partly over two modules. ! 2., A method .for expanding an expandable shaft (1) according to any one of the claims 1.-11, the method comprising the steps of: - placing foe expandable shaft into a core, - connecting an inflatable medium to the shaft, and - expanding the expandable chamber (7) via foe inflatable medium, so that the gripping means are moved radially outwards against an inner surface of foe core, whereby the shaft is aligned inside the core, so that the core is fixated and held.
  10. 13,- A method according to claim 12, wherein the expandable chambers arc sequentially inflated.
