Abstract

The present arrangement consists of a mailbox for, inter alia, stackable and parallel storey properties for a single unit. The lockable front door of the individual mailbox is held in the locked position on both the right and left sides, by means of a cross bar connected to the movable inner part of the lock. The insert flap has a profile like a semicircle under which the lock cylinder can be hidden. The special feature of the placement is that the front doors of the mailboxes appear as a unified whole, with no visible locks and punches that break the surface. The flaps are extended in the right and left sides so that the flaps are wider than the front door and optional cover plates that are wider than the front doors can be mounted on the front door under the flaps. The cracks between the front doors and the frame thus become almost invisible. The technique that makes this possible is the extremely positioned hinges at the top and bottom as well as the double locking which allows the locking cylinder to be placed high up in a relatively flimsy front door.

Description:

The present arrangement consists of a mailbox which is particularly useful for storey properties, in that the mailbox can be stacked and mounted, side by side, for a single unit in the entrance of the property.

The lockable front door of the individual mailbox is held in the locked position on both the right and left sides, by means of a cross bar connected to the movable inner part of the lock.

Most mailboxes have front doors that are hinged on one side and are locked, either at the center or side locks with one-sided locking pawls, on the opposite side of the hinges.

Usually, most front doors are hinged, at least a few millimeters inside the front door depth, as well as up or inside the bottom or side of the mailbox.

Many, even compound, mailbox systems are delivered in entire entire units, which makes it difficult or impossible, replacement and partial renovation not least in connection with graffiti and vandalism, which is not facilitated by the frequently used profiled front doors with many indentations and details.

Usually, the names of the various mailbox users are placed outside the front door along with the keyhole or on the mail entry flap, which means that the overall front of a collection of mailboxes will often appear as a messy and complex mass of many small devices.

What is special about the production is that:

An arbitrary collection of mail hand-in boxes can be placed on top of, and next to, each with individual locking option and indication of owners / users, in a way that the entire whole, appears as a simple and clean whole, without visible key and locking devices and with discrete user indications, in a design that can be individually customized with mountable and interchangeable faceplates on the front doors.

The new technical measures put in place to achieve this are:

The front door can be made of a relatively thin material, with a lower torsional strength than if the front door was only locked in the middle or one side

The double locking bar enables the locking cylinder to be placed high up on the front door, so that the locking cylinder can be hidden and protected by a post entry flap.

The projected hinges on the sides of the mailbox, top and bottom, allow an optional cover plate to be fitted to the outside of the front door, with sufficient clearance to prevent the hinges from opening and closing the front door.

This visual and physical depth between post entry flap and front door, where names, numbers and floor, etc. can be marked discretely and physically drawn into the depth, relative to the overall front of the mailboxes, allows for a unified and stylish clean whole where the overall front of all the mailboxes appears simple and beautiful.

Finally, the individual front doors can be replaced or more easily cleaned, as they are completely smooth and possibly delivered in anti-graphite surface treatment.

The arrangement relates to a mailbox with a lockable front door which, in addition to the bottom hinge, is characterized by locking in the top right and left sides, via a conventional transverse bar coupled to the side-mounted locking device and characterized by a hinging of the front door which allows mounting of an additional plate on the front door and option for specifying mailbox ID or names in a recess under post entry flap.
