Fixing according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the ball bearing comprises a spherical ring and a bowl-shaped part, which ring (11) is preferably located on the bottom part (12). A fixture according to any one of claims 1-5, characterized in that each of the first and second power transmitting members of the lever each comprises a bearing surface which extends substantially perpendicular to both: - the longitudinal axis of the lever; - the lever's rotation plane; and extends along the edges of the lever. Fixing according to claim 6, characterized in that the bearing surfaces are vaulted. Fixing according to claim 6 or 7, characterized in that the bearing surfaces are movably supported in another bearing comprising a groove formed in the lever. The fixture according to any one of claims 1-8, characterized in that the fixture further comprises an intermediate piece (22) adapted to transmit a force between the second force transmitting member of the lever and the clamping portion of the fixture. A fixture according to any of claims 2-9, characterized in that the clamping portion comprises two substantially identical wedges (10) which cooperate with each other to hold the specimen blank. A fixture according to any one of claims 1-10, characterized in that the fixture comprises two substantially identical weights, each of the weights comprising two arms, the first arm being capable of transferring force to the end of the specimen, and the other arm is capable of transmitting power to the cooperating wedges. The fixture according to claim 11, characterized in that the fixture further comprises a ball bearing (24) disposed substantially between the weights (24), wherein the bearing (24) comprises means for transferring power from the second power transmitting means of each lever. The fixture according to claim 12, characterized in that the spherical ball bearing (24) comprises a bush located substantially centrally within the bearing, which bush is guided by an elongate member which is substantially anchored in the middle of the bottom part. A lever for use in a fixture according to claims 1-15, which lever comprises means for transferring a force from the bottom part to a test piece, said lever having two arms, the first arm constituting the first power transmitting means adapted to transmitting power to the end of a test piece, and the second arm constituting the second power transmitting means adapted to transfer power to the clamping member of the fixture. Barbell according to claim 16, characterized in that the barbell has a pivot point which is substantially in line with the first and second power transmitting means of the barbell. Fixing according to claim 17, characterized in that the lever has a point of rotation defined by a ball bearing. Barbell according to any one of claims 16-18, characterized in that each first and second power transmitting means of the bar further comprises two bearing faces extending substantially perpendicular to both: - the bar longitudinal axis; - the lever's rotation plane; and extends along the edges of the lever. Barbell according to claim 19, characterized in that the two bearing surfaces are convex. Barbell according to claim 20, characterized in that two bearing surfaces are movably supported in a second bearing, which comprises a groove in the bar. The barbell according to any one of claims 16-21, characterized in that the other barbell is three or approx. three times the length of the first arm.
